29yrs, 5years working experience, LL.B and B.L ( did Wes evaluatiom) LSRW 7767 IQAS gives law degrees a better evaluation. Your LLB with them will equal a professional degree and you dont have to send your law school transcripts. Your IELTS score isn't good enough, you should aim for 8,7,7,7 or better 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 in LRSW respectively. 1 Like |

nifeicon: Hello Everyone, Compliments of the season.
A Sister needs your help here. After 2 PGD programmes, my spouse and children have tried visiting during my programmes but was denied. I am tired of living without my family.
I have a 3yrs work permit running but my visa has expired. I want to renew my visa and if possible apply for them. Please what do I apply for ? 1. Work permit for spouse +visiting my son.+ Visiting for myself. 2. Visiting for all. 3.visiting for self and my son and later work permit for spouse. 4, PR straight for myself or for all .
Kindly advise
Thanks for your prompt response and God bless you. You can apply for a spouse open work permit for spouse and depending on the age of your child a study permit or temporary visa if you still have enough time left on your work permit. Visit this thread for more details. https://www.nairaland.com/2271485/canada-spouse-open-work-permit You can also apply for visiting for both of them and when they get in they apply for the open work permit. Considering that your permit is already running out they might not readily grant this. PR is a surer way to get them in as your Canadian study and work will give you an added advantage. |

Silent reader here. I am glad to announce we got our Passport Request (PPR) today!!! Hopefully this will encourage those in waiting.
More details below:
Family Composition: 3 - Myself, Spouse and Daughter Travel History: UK, USA, Spain, Italy, Germany, Qatar, UAE, Hungary... the list goes on and irrelevant. Acknowledgement of Receipt: 28 April 2017 Medical Passed: Mid- June 2017 (We sorted our medicals few weeks before AOR) Background Check (NA1): August 2017 Additional Document Request: 2nd August 2017 (Schedule A for spouse) Background Check (IP1): Mid-August 2017 File Transferred to London VO: 5th September 2017 Background Check (NA2): September 2017 Background Check (IP2): 5th December 2017 Passport Request (PPR): 5th December 2017
The entire process from AOR to PPR took 221days. The wait was very frustrating for us as it took much longer than the average processing time, it got even worse when we read how London VO keep files in their queue for much longer than expected. We are however grateful to the Almighty for seeing us through to the finish line before the end of the year.
Wishing those still waiting the very best in this journey. Cheers 57 Likes |

Apply with the current medical, proactively do another one once that expires in February- if you have not gotten PPR by then, raise CSE and send it with a letter of explanation. However if you get PPR before Feb, are you ready to land by Feb? Chester2018: Good evening my people, Kindly assist with this dilemma. My wife did her medicals sometimes in February while applying for student visa which was not successful. Now we have ITA and we are meant to submit next week only to discover that her medical will expire in February(2 months time) and we can not do another one till it expires. Please advise on this dilemma. Thanks 1 Like |

Stylequeen: Hello all,
I just started reading through the thread and it's amazing all the information here. I'm glad I found it. My case is a bit unique so I will need all the advice i can get please.
My husband is already a PR in Canada, lives and works there but he does not qualify to sponsor at the moment due to a few factors, so I want to explore the EE if I qualify.
I guess this means I'm applying "without spouse" when ranking myself on the CRS. Do i get any extra/bonus points as a result of him being a PR?
I'd really appreciate your advice.
Thank you so much.
If you are legally married and your spouse is a Canadian PR , you are not eligible to apply for FSW or Provincial nominee Program. That's the law. You can come to Canada as a PR via Family sponsorship. |

exactly mi thoughts, cos the Feb might be too close for them, In my opinion, if it's not against the rule, just do another one and let ur mind be at rest as d PA medical will be determining factor if both spouse must leave together. Except she is not the PA and Intends to leave later 2 Likes |

Okay thanks for that internship and nysc tip, I was beginning to get scared for that part too.
Also pls ehn, now that I read that the proof of fund can’t be money borrowed or something like that, what if I have a sponsor cos the money in my account can’t fund the process? Can that pass for that requirement?
Also shey when I get my PR eventually, then I can start thinking of registering with pebc for the licensing exams et al? Or I must have registered in the EE process? Yes you can have a sponsor, but the funds must be transfered to your account and a gift deed prepared. I'll say you shouldnt worry, when you get to that beidge, ull cross it. Moreso as you find urself deep in the process, u understand more. Yes, you get ur PR and get there to start writing your licensing exams. 2 Likes |
