That thread was saying a girl and a guy can never be just friends,without the guy wanting more immediately or at some point. I was surprised to see it was guys that endorsed it more. And to answer your question, yes. I've walked up to some pretty girls I sighted, but in the course of the whole thing, I realized I wasn't attracted so I left it on a platonic level.
And I have friends that seem perfectly happy to be in the friendzone cuz they are not trying to date the girl in the first place.
