No matter how rich or poor your/her father is, they have made mistakes, they have regrets, they wish for better things for their children. Do you wish for your sister to marry someone like you or your father? . If you have a daughter, wouldn't you want her to be greater, and more sucessful than you in all ramifications like academics, career and even marriage?
