What you you mean by great move, If these herdsmen are from the east or south there will be python and crocodile dance and smoke, why don't PMB send Army to end the menace of these Jihadist, This call is just politics but it is unfair to be politicking with Peoples blood. They did not ask for external support to tackle ipob

There wasn't much killings involved in Ipob rampages like Fulanis/herdsmen killings. They can't even b compared.

The Nigerian government has called for the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in providing lasting solutions to the farmers and herdsmen crisis in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau disclosed this after a meeting with the President of the ECOWAS commission, Marcel De Souza at the ECOWAS secretariat Abuja.

This is one of the efforts being employed by federal government in tackling herdsmen crisis and to ensure that justice was meted out on the perpetrators.

Dambazau after the meeting told newsmen that the discussion was bordered on regional security as herder/farmers clashes alongside terrorists attacks became worrisome

He called for a ministerial conference of ECOWAS member states in order to come up with a framework that will address the trans-border crimes, which he said had contributed to the conflict.

Where àre the Nigerian ECOMOG soldiers that fought and won in war-torn countries like sudan and the rest, can't they handle this,or is the gorilla war more difficult than the conventional one?....

what nonsense we need to consult ECOWAS to end ordinary herds men attack....I think this another way APC is trying to source for funds that would be used for 2019

What can ECOWAS do? Are the Fulani herdsmen coming from outside Nigeria’s borders?

Never seen a criminally negligent government like this!

What kind of support are they asking from the 16 country ECOWAS union when Nigeria already provides over 60 percent of ECOWAS funding and has 75% of the economy of the region?

Darkness can never overcome light, no matter how hard this Jihadists try to overrun this country they will all be put to shame, Nigeria is God's own country and no demon in religious clothing can overcome God's own country.

Don't mind the hypocritical terrorist in Aso rock.
Ghanaian govt has given order to shoot anything like herdsmen. But here in Nigeria, Buhari is pretending as if its beyond his capability to stop his brothers from killing ,even when we all know that the same Nigeria seeking help from ECOWAS has much influence in the same ECOWAS they are running to.

Hopeless govt.

Buhari believes most of the Herdsmen are not from Nigeria, so l think he needs Ecowas to review the law on migration across the borders of Ecowas member nations.

The solution is simple: Send all Fulani herdsmen to their hometowns in the North. They should do their nomadic lifestyle there. We are now in the 21st century, other tribes can now rear cattles wella......THERE SHOULD BE NO CATTLE GRAZING RESERVES FOR THE FULANI HERDSMEN IN ALL THE STATES.....my people, the Urhobos can rear cattle, wetin dey there sef.If we fit rear goat when stubborn an mello.
Our Government know the solution, but it seems they enjoy the bloodletting spree of the Fulani herdsmen.

If that’s true—which I doubt still— it’s still a dumb evasive move. He doesn’t need ECOWAS support to secure his borders if the herdsmen are coming from outside Nigeria.

Boko Haram that’s clearly a cross border terrorist group didn’t need ECOWAS support.

I think the government is playing lip service and reacting out of pressure from the public.

What is wrong with you all?

What exactly is it?

Are you aware that Herdsmen have been migrating up and down the path of West Africa for centuries?

Are you aware that as a West African you are guaranteed ease of movement across borders?

Why should a group that makes such criss-cross not be under the purview of an ECOWAS security and diplomatic initiative?

Let us imagine we get a new leader today Donald Duke say, would that change the trans-borders migration of the cattle herders?

Would cattle rustling stop and as a result less carnage?

As long as you continue with this unrelenting attack of government, government policies you all can never see peace .

Quite unfortunate the number of close-minded people this country has.

THE FIRST THING ANY SINCERE GOVERMENT WOULD HAVE DONE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO HUNT DOWN, ARREST AND DIS-ARMED THE HERDSMEN. PMB GOVERMENT HAS DECIDED TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY AND BURY ITS HEAD IN THE SAND LIKE AN OSTRICH.
THEY ARE NOW LOBBYING THE ECOWAS GOVERMENT (EXPECIALLY THEIR SO CALL FULANI RELATIVES - GAMBIA, MALI, GUINEA, SENEGAL ETC) TO TRY TO ESTABILISH A PROGRAMME TO ACHIEVE THEIR ANCESTRAL GOALS IN WEST AFRICA - BEYOND NIGERIA.
DID PMB GOVERMENT ASK FOR ECOWAS HELP WHEN DEALING WITH IPOB, NIGER DELTA MILITANTS OR EVEN BOKO HARAM?

WHY IS IT THAT NO HERDSMAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED, SHOT OR INJURED SINCE ALL THIS ATTACKS? WHO IS TRANSPORTING AND PROTECTING THEM EVEN WITH THEIR ARMS?
WHY IS PMB GOVERMENT NOT ALLOWING THE STATE VIGILANTE TO PROTECT ITS CITIZEN LIKE THE CIVILIAN JTF SETUP FOR BOKO HARAM - IF PMB GOVERMENT HANDS ARE CLEAN?
THE SAME GOVERMENT IS ASKING FOR STATES TO DONATE LAND TO THE SO CALLED FOREIGN MERCENARIES FOR GRAZING RESERVE / COLONY - THE SAME PERSONS YOU CANNOT SEE OR APPREHEND.

So what does Buhari want ECOWAS block to do?

Secure his own boarders for him?

Help him build modern ranches for him , when he couldn’t create one himself in his own country?

Send troops into Nigerian soil to combat the gun trotting Fulani imbeciles?

Document these itinerant herdsmen for him?

I wonder why the sudden esclating herdsmen rush for land and grazing since Buhari came in when there are no other same frequency of clashes in other West African countries.

They just want to present it to the world that its farmers and herdsmen clash...
Farmers are slaughtering herdsmen
And herdsmen are defending themselves....

What rush for land?

Provide the stats to back up your claim or we can accept you are pulling this from your bum as most do on this forum.

I write the way I do and not even you can prevent me from such freedom. You know what you can do with your opinion on that.

Calling an entire tribe of people imbeciles may get you likes and shares but deeply, it tells of your upbringing and your total inability to live within the context of civility.

I see you cleverly dodged the points I raised by raising sentiments with subterfuge.

Your jaw-dropping stupidity should win you an award for either the most hopeless blind bat or a cheap political lackey with zero ethics or moral.

Your opinion is yours. And it mirrors your parentage as lacking in critical thinking and plentiful in willful servitude.

No go un-shackle yourself , dummy.
