Insomnia is defined as an abnormal state of being awake when one is supposed to be sleeping or the inability to fall asleep easily and remain asleep for a better part of the night. Simply put insomnia is a term used to describe chronic sleeplessness. This chronic sleeplessness (insomnia) may be due to physical or psychological factors or a combination of both. Some people are more sensitive to conditions around them and this will most often affect their sleeping pattern or keep them awake. Some of the factors that are likely to affect ones sleeping habit includes: Noise, Bright Light, Crowded or poor ventilated room, bed-sharing, heavy meal before bed time, intake of drinks such as coffee, strong tea, Cola and energy drinks that contains high amount of caffeine, drinking of relatively high amount of water or drinks late at night which has the possibility of inducing frequent urination.
