They all gathered to celebrate Ibadan land at the inauguration of new executive members of Ajorosun Social Club, a foremost socio-cultural group in the ancient city.

Other dignitaries at the event included a former Chief Justice in the State, Justice Badejoko Adeniji, President Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Chief Adeyemi Soladoye, Member, House of Representatives representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara, Hon. Taiwo Akintola and outgoing president of the club, Professor Olukayode Idowu, who charged the indigenes to make use of their population, political exposure and experience to continue to set the pace in the areas of the economy, social, politics, commerce and educational advancement for the state and Africa in general.

Ajimobi who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli said Ajimobi always seeks the goodness and unity of Ibadan at all times.

Oba Adetunji, while showering blessings on Ibadan land said; “as a father of all sons and daughters of the ancient city, I will always be in support of all suggestions, moves and efforts in moving the city forward.”

He said; “I thank you for your efforts, you will continue to succeed. I want all of you to work for Ibadan progress and God will continue to be with you. Amin,” Olubadan said.

Ladoja who was the special guest of honour at the event was commended by the speakers for his role in ensuring the success of the event which was aimed at promoting peace in the city.

In his acceptance speech, the new President, Chief Oluokun Babalola said he needed the support of all and sundry in achieving his campaign promises.
