I heard from reliable sources that the dropping of the team top scorer Alalade and Oliseme was enforced by the NFF after checks showed that they had multiple traveling documents with different dates of birth. |

Under-20 World Cup: Squads, favourites and players to watch in Poland Reigning champions England failed to qualify this time around but there will be a number of potential superstars on show in the next few weeks. Kicking-off on May 23, some of the stars of the future will be in action in Poland at the Under-20 World Cup. Reigning champions England failed to qualify this time around, meaning there will be a new name on the trophy come the end of the final on June 15. The 24 teams have been drawn into six groups of four as they begin their bids for glory. |

Argentina COACH: Fernando Batista STAR PLAYER: Gonzalo Maroni Champions 12 years ago in Canada, Argentina believe they have a generation of players that can once again challenge for the title after they finished as runners-up in the South American Under-20 Championship earlier this year. Their star man is playmaker Gonzalo Maroni, who has been linked with both Inter and AC Milan, while Boca Juniors midfielder Agustin Almedra could also be on his way to Serie A, with Napoli interested. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Manuel Roffo, Joaquin Blazquez, Jeronimo Porteau. Defenders: Marcelo Weigandt, Facundo Medina, Facundo Mura, Maximiliano Centurion, Nehuen Perez Midfielders: Cristian Ferreira, Santiago Sosa, Agustin Almendra, Gonzalo Maroni, Fausto Vera, Francisco Ortega, Anibal Moreno, Pedro de la Vega Forwards: Julian Alvarez, Ezequiel Barco, Adolfo Gaich, Agustin Urzi, Tomas Chancalay

Colombia COACH: Arturo Reyes STAR PLAYER: Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernandez Arturo Reyes' side arrive in Poland as dark horses, particularly given they are, relatively speaking, more experienced than some of the other assembled squads. Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernandez is coming off an impressive campaign for Huesa in La Liga, though there is no place for Manchester City winger Ian Poveda, who was reportedly being considered for selection despite having previously represented England at youth level. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkaapers: Juan David Lemus, Kevin Mier, Reinaldo Fontalvo Defenders: Andres Balanta, Juan Sebastian Palma, Andres Felipe Reyes, Carlos Cuesta, Brayan Vera, Hayen Palacios, Anderson Arroyo Midfielders: Gustavo Carvajal, Andres Amaya, Andres Perea, Jaime Alvarado Forwards: Deiber Caicedo, Johan Carbonero, Carlos Teran, Luis Sandoval, Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernandez, Luis Sinisterra, Ivan Angulo

Ecuador COACH: Jorge Celico STAR PLAYER: Leonardo Campana Perhaps the finest generation of players to have been produced by Ecuador arrive in Poland as South American Under-20 champions having won the title earlier this year. That competition's top goalscorer Leonardo Campana is set to be watched by a number of Europe's top clubs at this tournament, while Jorge Celico also possesses one of the best goalkeepers on show in Real Sociedad's Moises Ramirez. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Moises Ramirez, Johan Lara, Pierre Bellolio Defenders: Jackson Porozo, Gustavo Vallecilla, Richard Mina, John Espinoza, Luis Loor, Diego Palacios, Luis Castillo Midfielders: Jordi Alcivar, Jefferson Arce, Jordan Rezabala, Luis Estupinan, Jose Cifuentes, Sergio Quintero Forwards: Leonardo Campana, Stiven Plaza, Alexander Alvarado, Daniel Segura, Gonzalo Plata

France COACH: Bernard Diomede STAR PLAYER: Moussa Diaby Widely tipped to follow in the footsteps of the France senior side and lift the World Cup this summer, Bernard Diomede is spoiled for choice given the impressive depth of talent available to him in Poland. Borussia Dortmund centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou will likely be partnered by Arsenal target William Saliba in defence, in front of Fiorentina No.1 Alban Lafont, while up front PSG starlet Moussa Diaby and Lyon striker Amine Gouiri will be relied upon to provide the goals. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Didier Desprez, Alban Lafont, Ilan Meslier Defenders: Thomas Basila, Nicolas Cozza, Boubacar Kamara, Evan Ndicka, William Saliba, Sambou Sissoko, Dan-Axel Zagadou Midfielders: Youssouf Fofana, Enzo Loiodice, Ibrahima Diallo, Boubakry Soumare, Mickael Cuisance Forwards: Yacine Adli, Moussa Diaby,

Japan COACH: Masanaga Kageyama STAR PLAYER: Koki Saito The absence of Hiroki Abe and Takefusa Kubo, the two most talented Japanese players in a generation, has hit Masanaga Kageyama's squad hard, and with injuries to other key squad members Kosei Tani and Daiki Hashioka further limiting their resources, expectations are not as high as they perhaps could have been. That said, the likes of Koki Saito, who is already a regular in the J-League, and captain Mitsuki Saito are talented and could help them spring a surprise. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Tomoya Wakahara, Shu Mogi, Zion Sukuzi, Toichi Suzuki Defenders: Shunki Higashi, Yuki Kobayashi, Ayumu Seko, Yukinari Sugawara, Kenedeiebusu Mikuni Midfielders: Yuta Goke, Hiroki Ito, Kanya Fujimoto, Koki Saito, Mitsuki Saito, Kota Yamada, Hinata Kida, Keito Nakamura Forwards: Kyosuke Tagawa, Taisei Miyashiro, Jun Nishikawa, Taichi Hara

Honduras COACH: Carlos Tabora STAR PLAYER: Cristian Calix Honduras have won just one group game in each of their last two appearances. Could this year be different? There are six players on the squad who play either in the United States or Mexico, mostly in the lower divisions, but that experience could serve them well. That includes Cristian Calix, an attacking midfielder currently with Atlas who is great at creating chances and capable of finishing on his own. Los Catrachos' group draw is kinder than the last two World Cups, in which they faced France and Germany. New senior national team boss Fabian Coito knows Uruguay well and should have his youngsters well-prepared to face the squad he once coached. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Jose Garcia, Oscar Reyes, Johan Villanueva Defenders: Elison Rivas, Darwin Diego, Axel Gomez, Wesley Decas, Maynor Antunez, Jonathan Nunez, Mariano Alvarez Midfielders: Everson Lopez, Cristian Calix, Gerson Chavez, Jack Jean Baptiste Forwards: Cesar Romero, Carlos Mejia, Josue Villafranca, Selvin Guevara, Joseph Rosales, Luis Palma, Patrick Palacios

Italy COACH: Paolo Nicolato STAR PLAYER: Andrea Pinamonti Though the likes of Moise Kean, Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo are no longer with the squad after they were fast-tracked to the Azzurri senior side, Italy still possess a squad which is largely made up of the group which finished as runners-up in the Under-19 European Championships in 2018. Andrea Pinamonti has enjoyed a fine campaign in Serie A with Frosinone, and Paolo Nicolato's team will be aiming to go one better than their predecessors, who lost out in the semi-finals before finishing third in the 2017 edition of the tournament. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Alessandro Plizzari, Marco Carnesecchi, Leonardo Loria Defenders: Luca Pellegrini, Alessandro Buongiorno, Alessandro Tripaldelli, Luca Ranieri, Matteo Gabbia, Raoul Bellanova, Davide Bettella, Antonio Candela, Enrico Del Prato Midfielders: Salvatore Esposito, Davide Frattesi, Domenico Roberto Alberico, Andrea Colpani Forwards: Gabriele Gori, Marco Olivieri, Gianluca Scamacca, Andrea Pinamonti, Christian Capone

Mali COACH: Mamoutou Kane STAR PLAYER: Mamadou Traore The reigning African champions will again be looking to provide a shock, having finished third in the 2015 edition of the World Cup in New Zealand. Though they are without Lens midfielder Cheick Doucoure, who has been promoted to the senior ranks, they still boast plenty of talent, including Red Bull Salzburg trio Ousmane Diakite, Mohamed Camara and Sekou Koita, as well as playmaker Mamadou Traore. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Alkalifa Coulibaly, Youssouf Koita, Souleymane Coulibaly Defenders: Arnaud Konan, Drissa Diarra, Fode Konate, Babou Fofana, Clement Kanoute, Abdoulaye Diaby Midfielders: Ousmane Diakite, Mohamed Camara, Mamadou Traore, Sambou Sissoko, Mamadou Samake, Boubacar Traore Forwards: Hadji Drame, El Bilal Toure, Boubacar Konte, Mamady Diarra, Lassana N'Diaye, Sekou Koita

Mexico COACH: Diego Ramirez STAR PLAYER: Diego Lainez Mexico may have an Olympic gold medal and a pair of titles at Under-17 level, but they have never won an Under-20 crown. The team that will look to change that has top-level talent in Real Betis winger Diego Lainez and Leon forward Jose Juan Macias (once he arrives from the Liga MX play-offs) providing their attacking spark. Defensive depth will be a concern for El Tri, who called-up only six natural defenders into the squad. Many of them already have first-team experience, but when challenged at the Concacaf tournament, Mexico conceded too many goals. Lainez and Macias will need to pull their weight up front and hope for a few good showings from their team-mates at the back if Mexico are going to make a run at a first World Cup victory. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Carlos Higuera, Luis Lopez, Angel Alonzo Defenders: Kevin Alvarez, Gilberto Sepulveda, Efrain Orona, Naelson Cardenas, Mario Trejo, Oswaldo Leon Midfielders: Alan Torres, Diego Hernandez, Misael Dominguez, Fernando Plascencia, Roberto Meraz, Carlos Gutierrez, Antonio Figueroa Forwards: Jose Macias, Diego Lainez, Roberto De La Rosa, Daniel Lopez, Adrian Lozano |

Nigeria COACH: Paul Aigbogun STAR PLAYER: Ikouwem Utin Despite coming up short at the African Under-20 Championships, eventually finishing fourth, Nigeria are regarded as perhaps the strongest side to arrive in Poland from the continent. Among their number are full-back Ikouwern Utin, who will move to Maccabi Haifa after the tournament, and Manchester City midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Detan Ogundare, Olawale Oremade, Jonathan Zaccala Defenders: Valentine Ozornwafor, Aliu Salawudeen, Igoh Ogbu, Ikouwem Utin, Muhammad Rabiu, Jamil Muhammad Midfielders: Nnamdi Ofoborh, Eletu Peter, Ayotomiwa Dele-Bashiru, Kingsley Michael, Effiom Maxwell, Aniekeme Okon, Collins Sor Forwards: Jerome Adams, Tijani Muhammed, Henry Offia, Chinonso Emeka, Success Makanjuola

Norway COACH: Pal Johansen STAR PLAYER: Erling Haaland Norway booked their place at the tournament by upsetting reigning champions England in a play-off and, as such, are regarded as dangerous underdogs. Their star player is Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Haaland, whose father Alfie-Inge played for both Manchester City and Leeds United in the Premier League. He is not the only famous offspring among the squad, with Stabaek midfielder Emil Bohinen's father, Lars, having played for Derby County in the English top-flight. SQUAD IN FULL Goalkeepers: Markus Petterson, Julian Lund, Erik-Johannes Arnebrott Defenders: John Kitolano, Lars Ranger, Leo Ostigard, Ulrik Fredriksen, Tomas Totland Midfielders: Christian Borchgrevnik, Adnan Hadzic, Hugo Vetlesen, Emil Bohinen, Kristian Thorstvedt, Eman Markovic, Jens Hauge, Tobias Borkeeiet, Hakon Evjen, Tobias Svendsen, Tobias Christensen Forwards: Erling Haaland, Ola Brynhildsen
