I've been saying the samething for a long time now. This accounts for why the only entrepreneurial activity an average graduate in Nigeria can set up is basic buying and selling not one involving the practice of their actual field of study. This is mostly true even though there a few exceptions.

He shouldn't address the education sector in isolation. There is a problem with the entire national structure. He should apply the cause and effect theory to every sphere and he would be educated on the fallacy of the contraption called "Nijeriya."

I could remember one of my lecturers then using a note he prepared even before I was born to teach us in 2013. Which way Nigeria?

And if there is going to be a reform in our educational system, it's certainly not going to be in this cowhari's regime. How can someone who didn't pass secondary school reform the Education of a country. Nigeria is indeed a shithole country. If I ever get the fu^ck outta this country, I'm never coming back.
the hatred you've for Buhari is blocking your brain to view things in right direction
if you say Buhari has no PHD but there are are many Nigerians that have what it takes to transform our educational system they can work with Buhari to achieve that

First tell me how education can be expired? The only problem is that more research has not been done to upgrade the knowledge on ground due to inadequate funding and poor infrastructure.
I have a friend who had difficulties in his academics here in Nigeria his father withdrew him in 300level, registered for the same course in U.K... Over there he's a topper, which is as a result of the foundation he had in Nigeria.
As for me, I didn't receive expired education, there's a big difference between something that has expired and something that isn't updated. Though the guy made some points, but in my opinion, he used the wrong word of description.

Just imagine what will be going on in the minds of those present at the event.

Nigeria does not have an education system. Maybe they might have a schooling system, But it ends there.

Knowledge not updated is expired knowlege. In education, newer and superior knowledge generally overrides the relevance of older knowledge. Educational knowlege isn't a thing that rots away to be considered expired, it gets overriden by newer and superior knowledge to be considered expired. The prof is right.

Nigeria is the product of a simple business agreement between the British Mining Company(which originally seized control of the various untethered regions as mining colonies) and the British Government. After the sales of the various regions by the company for a mouth watering sum the British Govt decided to amalgamate the various regions (whose cultural heritage are as far apart as east and west) several years later to make governance easier. With that as our foundation, how will things work?

Our major problem is not mainly education but moral decadence granted the fact that Nigerian university curricula need urgent review, we still see some of our political leaders who studied abroad to acquire up-to-date knowledge and unable to deliver good goverance.

Nigerian degrees are as good as degrees from University of America, Murrieta California. I have never heard of the school until now. I thought it was a joke until I searched in google. It is a degree mill mushroom college.

It is a distance learning school out to milk gullible Nigerians for cash. I will lovr to see anyone get a job with their degrees.

To attribute the improved performance of your friend to his "foundation in Nigeria" is very wrong.

What about those who went to UK universities directly without any Nigerian university foundation?
Why is the success rate among them so high?

three:
Some did not receive ANY formal or informal education simply because they disdain education in preference to power, ethnic / religious supremacy but are wielding enormous power and influence.

Basically a vicious circle. Those who have ruled (and are ruling) over this country DESPISE quality education and have RUTHLESSLY decimated and destroyed the educational system.

U couldn't have put it any better. They appreciate power not knowledge. And so the knowledge system has crumbled under their watch and no one is bothered.
