Desyner: Well, now I know better... With the way CU is going, I give it another 10 years; the likes of "Oba awon Unifasity'' and the "Premier warriors" would be rubbing CU's bottom. On a lighter note... If an MSc abroad is unsuccessful, it's definitely CU. |

HigherEd: Well, I really feel expanding their faculties won't be a bad idea. And I don't think it would erode the quality of programmes being offered. Check out most top ranking universities in the US and UK... They have a large pool of courses one can choose from, even at Post graduate level. 1 Like |

Divay22:I only proved to you that no one is perfect. To be honest about the topic, I think students that school at private university have the edge over public schools student because they usually have the weapons ( electricity, water, facilities, hostel, security ) to thrive. It's only normal for them to produce the best of graduates as we all know that "To whom much is given, Much is expected". I personally would see any private university student that graduates with anything less than second class upper as a failure because their excuse of not scoring high is very limited. However, public universities have very high number of half done students that would make you question standard of the schools. Corruption is also a big issue as student can cheat their way through right from waec to jamb to vc's list down to settling lecturers to get 40 - 50 to graduating with a second class lower or third class. The major reason I respect public school first class graduates more is not because they are intelligent than private school graduates but because of their determination and resilience . It takes about thrice of the determination to graduate in a private school with a first class degree to the public school first class graduates. I would recommend top notch private university like CU to anyone that can really afford it. It would be a big shame to those that graduated from private university to start dragging 150k job with public university students. I recommend you think deeply before you go school in a expensive private school. 1 Like |

Nonsense. Federal universities flog many of dis upgraded secondary schools called private university.. Even in place of work , I don't trust fully all these medical graduates from private universities, I don't want to go into stories ,it will sound a bit unprofessional. Go to private university and see the abracadabra they are doing for them Dia . Have you seen a private university student staying extra year rewriting failed courses? Money answered all tinx Dia 1 Like |

Desyner:the same lecturers who take "sorting" in public schools are the ones teaching you in private universities. You don't have to "sort" in private universities. The "sorting" fees has already been added to your school fees. The reason students don't get to repeat classes or withdrawn in private primary and secondary school is the same reason such don't happen in private universities - money. It's business. 2 Likes |

Desyner:The girl that asked for that is Mumu. A guy named farouk graduated with lower credit from Lautech but he's working with bill gate as I speak. Though, I didn't meet him in school, but I know another one called Cletus babajide, though he graduated with first class from same Lautech and now in US working with Mark Zuckerberg. There are lots of great guys with brains outside. 1 Like |

What's the noise all about? CU is the only Nigerian University among the Top 10 African Universities (Computer Science); and it ranked 3rd just behind University of Johannesburg (1st) and Cairo University (2nd). We Nigerians just argue blindly without facts. Why will the lady's company hesitate to employ CU's Comp. Sci graduates when they are the best in terms of rigorous practicals and not just basics unlike Fed. Uni, exposure (most of them goes for summer camp in UK Universities during holidays), uninterrupted power supply to enhance effective learning since inception of CU amongst other... If you own a company, won't you want to hire the best? Or you want to keep an intelligent fool on your pay roll? (but the bolded word in this context is not actually referring to Fed. Uni graduates alone) cos I'm also a UI undergraduate. In conclusion, the honest truth is that, there are numerous Fed. Uni genius but CU's Computer Science Department deserves credit here cos they are representing this nation as a whole at the international stages. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Just imagine the energy these youths vested in a baseless argument. What is the point trying to prove which is better. Is there any Nigerian university in the top 500. Let us try to better ourselves, challenge ourselves, and pursue self development.. Some of the people arguing can't even remember when last they picked up a book to read. By the way I did a 2year dip in Uniben, but graduated from Cu. Both have their pros and cons, but I'll say whilst CU made me book smart, Uniben definitely taught me to be street smart and in a country like Nigeria, you need to exhibit both to go the extra mile. 1 Like |
