jnyuwa02: Hello Jnyuwa02 Thanks a lot for your well articulated response. I've covered all the issues you raised in my SOP. If you don't mind, I can send you a copy to review. Also as regards funding, I think I saw somewhere that CIC doesn't count TA and RA as part of work. They count them as part of your studies. Only Internships, Co-ops and other non study related jobs are counted as work thus requiring additional work permits. I've also received about $6,900 from my dad in addition to my funding while attaching his employment, retirement and SOA docs 1 Like |

olugere: It’s just amazing how someone who constantly sp asked one question over ten times after getting responses can talk like this, my brother remove the speck in your eyes before talking about other people, every one has unique situations needing validation!! Don’t come and talk in a very condescending manner to people, if you can’t respond jump and pass!! It’s a public forum Best regards 2 Likes |

Hello house, A very big thanks to all the gurus that have been pumping ideas into the forum... Am 20.... have an OND in build tech... already gotten admission for BSC civil engineering.. At this point I want the house to address my few questions as I am in a state of confusion and disdain..I don't want to waste my admission again I was denied last year...and I think the agent has a lot to do with my denial as he advised me not to disclose my OND cert since I was going for a BSC and he advised i state that i used my computer cert in getting an employment letter from a law firm to cover up a period of 1yr and 6 months gap which I just realise has complicated my issue since I am reapplying myself this Time. These are my 3 questions 1).How can I bring up my OND cert in building tech?which is in line with what I wanna study ..BSC Civil Eng .. can I say it was unavailable by the school as at my last application hence I was wrongly advised by the agent not to disclose it? 2)..How do I bring up my 1 year internship with FCMB?whch ended April 2017, that it won't clash with the already claimed computer operator job at d law firm.. Can I say the job was partime and majorly weekend while i was undergoing my OND program?? since the owner was dad's friend and family lawyer..whereas I have my offer and completion letter from FCMB even prove of monthly stipend if required 3)...my school didnt request for any of the international exams but but i I intend applying for SAT which has boths maths and English subject to show how geniue I am and how academically aticve I HV been..Do u consider it sensible?? I am still awaiting my GCMS note but issues ticked on my refusal letter was ..purpose of stay/visit ..Duration of stay ..personal asset ..current employment status Please I need ur advise on this as I am suffering from the consequences of using a bad agents..Thanks |

Lemia: I can look at your SOP. But understand this is a high privilege I do not grant as I am very busy with job and have little time to spare than answering questions here. I am just dishing advice based on another first class applicant that was denied and I met him. There are two schools of thought concerning it. There are people with RA and TA and scholarship full funding from Canadian school that CIC denied as “lacking sufficient funds to pay educational expenses without taking employment in Canada.” There are others too who scaled through with no problem having TA and RA and scholarship full funding. Depends on which VO is looking through your application I guess. Best wishes! |

It was just faculty of Engineering that was stated in my admission letter...but I had the Intention of studying mechanical engineering as at last year..I don't know if he included that at any point in my application I even doubt if he added an SOP bkos he never had a 1-1 section with me....and I can't imagine him writing my future ambitions, aims and Obj bkos he never asked me any of the questions relating to the content of a SOP Frankrobbn1: |

Kemdy97:Kemdy97, I'll advise you as a friend and a brother. Don't include any certificate that weren't on your previous refused application. Most especially, if the date of completion from the polytechnic (OND certification) is above your previous refused application.... What do I mean? I'm simply saying if you graduated from polytechnic let say Dec 2016 and your previous refused application was August 2017, don't try to include it. Continue with what you have started. If you have a dipolma certification in computer and have been working as a computer operator in a law firm, I best advise you stick to it and apply for bachelor's degree in computer science and forget about the civil engineering. This alone will show academic/career progression. Don't try to maneuver your next application as it will turn around to bite you, any information you already filled on the IMM form has a barcode which CIC have used to store your information on their database, any alterations will be declared as misrepresentation, that was the essence of asking you to validate and generate a barcode If the FCMB internship is not relevant to computer... Forget it. You're still within the age bracket for undergraduate studies, so don't panic. Go and secure a new admission on the discipline of computer sciences. To your last question (3) It's of no use writing SAT since your school don't require that for admission. The above is my advise Sir! I'm 95.9% sure if you stick to it and change your program. Your next application purpose of visit, current employment situation etc.. Will be waived. All the best! |

Thank you very much I really do appreciate your feedback What i did in FCMB is directly inclined to computer..but how can i introduce as an internship job..withiut the revealing if my OND...u cant go for IT without an IT letter from the school na i was able to attend the past Edu-canada fair at eko hotel where i was able to speak with one of the cic boss a Canadian Lady and she advised that i come out plane stating to have been wrongly advised by an agent ....beside we all know in nigeria delay is inevitable...and itz very possibke that u finished school earlier and ur certs shows up much latter pending on instutuion though... author=Frankrobbn1 post=66262033] Kemdy97, I'll advise you as a friend and a brother. Hello house, is it advisable to proceed with TRV application for a second degree at Brandon University which is a public university in Canada I was given admission recently to study Applied disaster and emergency studies, and as a second degree student I am expected to complete the degree for 2.5 years because I have a first degree in Engineering which I concluded December 2015, and I finished NYSC in December 2017.. house please help a brother as this is a dream course for me as I always hear that going for another undergraduate degree always lead to refusal, tho am to complete the degree for 2.5 instead of 4 years. And please can my biological brother sponsor me as he works as a Professor at George mason university USA.. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Austinpee4: 3:52pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
Lemia:Firstly, Congratulations on your academic achievements and funding. From your profile, you have one of the most detailed knowledge of documents to increase your chances of an approval. More to this is also the fact that your biological father is supporting you financially which makes your back up sponsorship credible and reliable. I see a good application that suggest good academic progression(being that you recently completed your degree program) that is logically inclined to both your degree and your passion as well. Your start up and a certification in Automation will also speak a lot about this. It appears clear that you are rooted in this field aside just having a degree and this is one thing an officer would look out for. Your home ties are also good enough. I believe you have submitted a good application there is. Be hopeful and also be positive that it will come out well in the end. Regards. 3 Likes |

Kemdy97:Kemdy97, It's true, you can't go for IT without a letter from an institution. If this will contradict the information you provided before, do away with it. The above bolded can be understandable if your agent used a representative form on your previous application, then you can defend the fact that your application was wrongly filled by an agent and you will win the case. But if the agent applied without indicating/filling a representative form or declaring he was an agent, then I don't see you wining this case. Confirm from your agent if he disclosed the fact that he was an agent. |

Thank you very much Sir, I will be able to confirm that sir when I get my GCMS note bkos currently the man is not replying me. But what do u think..I never received the mails from CIC or had anything to do with my application.. I only signed on d part where required in d form on the very day we met at VFS for submission and capturing..ever since then everything came from him till my refusal letter The white Lady assured me of no complications as she even advised I include that I attended the program edu-canada as well as state I was advised by her Frankrobbn1: |

Austinpee4: Hello @Austinpee4 I really appreciate your kind words of encouragement and support. Thank you. I have actually been following this thread for a long time. I read the whole of part 12 and 13 and contributed to the thread as well. That's how I went about compiling an application as decent as this (though not perfect). I hope and pray the visa officer handling my application sees to be as convincing as you see it. Though I feel I crafted a great SOP, I would be very glad if I could still get your input regarding my SOP as there's always room for improvement. Thanks again boss! Regards, 1 Like |

Kemdy97:Kemdy97, Even on your GCMS Note it won't be stated whether you used an agent or not. The gcms notes will only carry the details regarding your previous refused application and the factual reason for your visa refusal. It might be that your agent did not include your email on your application form, that's why you did not receive any correspondence from the embassy or maybe he filled the representative form. Bro! White lady or no white lady, if your agent did not disclose that he was an agent on your previous app or failed to fill the representative form, I don't know how you will defend this. Call your agent and confirm from him! It's your right and he should oblige to it. 1 Like |

Guys in my admission letter( acceptance letter). from Manitoba university undergraduate . the school only wrote the tuition fee for one year they did not write fees for room and board In my study permit form I have already submitted ,under room and board section I did not put any money under room and board because it wasn't in my admission letter . but under funds available for stay I put slightly above the money required by CIC (10k and above). Did i make a mistake? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Prudento: 5:55pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
jnyuwa02: Are you sure the funding covered both fees and living expenses? Please is there anyone in the thread that can corroborate this assertion? Seems a bit weird that someone would get full scholarship and be denied visa. This would mean a son of a nobody cannot study in Canada, even with full funding. 2 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 6:05pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
Kemdy97:Kemdy97, Ask your self does SAT take one year to be completed? Applicants prepare for their SAT exams within a month and come out with good grades. Why is yours taking 12 months to be completed? If you believe that the SAT has alot to do with your application, you can go ahead. But I don't see reasons with it since school/embassy don't require it. Its left for you, if you decide to use it as a way to address your study gaps. Fine!!!! Also, there is no need adding your HND admission, as the Visa officer will question why you never wanted to finish up your studies here in Nigeria and go for a higher studies in Canada (PGD) in future. So be silent about it. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 6:14pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
Prudento: Yes oh, it covered everything and even some stipend at Simon Frazier. Engineering program. First Class student too. Many people with full scholarship get denied. This is not a revelation, but a fact! THe grant of TRV is purely discretional! You can only do your best and pray and hope for the best. Anybody guaranteeing anyone anything or putting a percentage to anything doesn’t understand the highly unpredictability of a Canadian visa application. Ask MitchV, alias TRV doctor, alias Sacrificial Lamb, who put a seeming fully bullet proof application, which got punctured by a VO. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 6:16pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
Bieber78:Bieber78, If I understand your question clearly, you said your undergraduate tuition was only specified on your LOA, while room and board wasn't indicated, but you filled just your tuition and left room and board and others blank, while funds available to you, you indicated just 10KCAD. Most schools don't indicate funds for room and board. But as stated by CIC, applicants must show funds for tuition and living expenses of 10,000CAD for their first year of studies in Canada and must certify that funds will be made available for the subsequent years. In your case now, you're expected to fill TUITION + ROOM AND BOARD + OTHERS = FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR STAY. Leaving room and board + others doesn't make sense and Indicating just 10KCAD as funds availability for your first year is wrongly filled, Its safe to show funds in excess than below the range of your expenses in Canada. Your sponsor Bank statement will suffice and I hope the visa officer will overlook this. All the best! |
