Setemiola,

Use the below link to get your forms. Firstly, you need to download the updated version of the acrobat adobe reader inorder to have access to fill the IMM1294E.

Thanks! Am also planning to change school, I hope it won't affect my visa processing? The previous one was UCW. I learnt it's not a good school, please do you know any good school with affordable fees, without GMAT and all their IELTS wahala?

It depends on the program you intend to study. What program are you going for?

Absolutely you can. VFS Lagos’ somewhat antiquated Lagos Instruction manual actually discourages the paying of school fees before applying for visa. They are right!! I saw someone pay for their entire fees before applying for visa and yet insufficient funds was checked against them as reason for refusal. Go figure! Yes you can go ahead and apply for your visa. You should be fine with financicial docs showing sufficient funds. If CIC wants you to pay, they will inform you. Best wishes!!

Cc: abby2443, I think you should wait till when your uncle is ready to make the funds available before you apply. He is a third party and as such would be required to show commitment. Your uncle doesn't have to pay your tuition fee but let him transfer the said amount into your bank account.

If the uncle’s reason for sponsoring is credible and convincing enough, that is really all. Transferring money to the applicant’s account might be wholly unnecessary as indicative by those who have been successful in the past sponsored by third parties. But if his uncle is able to do so, transfer money into the applicant account, that is fine too and I welcome it and it might help. But the applicant should know that transferring money by uncle into his own account, is not the only way available to him. He could submit a bank statement with convincing proof why uncle is sponsoring him and will be fine. Maybe top that with 10k Transfer into dorm to add suficient heft to the application.

A Wise old man would make google his best friend. There are lots of them still opening for January. Fall is practically closed almost everywhere. There are less than 40 universities in Canada, so you can afford to make google your best friend in fishing out all the schools’ deadlines.

I seriously doubt a third party sponsorship can scale through without the sponsor paying. Merely stating and having enough funds won't be enough to convince the vo, that would have hold water if the sponsor is the applicant's parents or sibling.
Since the sponsor will be available around May/June I think the applicant should wait till then before applying

I see some questions here and I wonder how people asking such questions will cope when they get to Canada. Most people don't want to do any research at all, that's one of the reasons they fall prey to all those dubious people out there.

Hello All,

I have been a silent reader and in the process of applying for a study permit.

I need help in making a choice on which of these 3 schools to do my MBA program in. Memorial University, University of Manitoba and University of Windsor. I have gotten admission to the first 2 (conditional from Manitoba - need to pay $1000 deposit), and awaiting response from Windsor. From my checks on the web the MBA from all 3 are ranked in the same category, so i can choose any based on standards. Cost wise Manitoba>Windsor>Memorial, with Windsor costing an additional 4M and Manitoba 8M approx compared to Memorial.

I am leaning towards Windsor based on the weather and location (would likely be coming with my family), though i am planning to pursue the study permit using the admission from Memorial. I want to get input from those who are on ground if there are other reason that should sway my choice towards Memorial or Manitoba. Your views are greatly appreciated.

Hi guys I’m new in the house, but I’m not new to this topic. I’ve been following this thread since Part 5 thereabout and it has finally reached time for me to apply what I’ve learnt so far. However I still need your help. I graduated last year and I’m currently serving but I want to go for my masters this Fall. I have secured admission to Carleton MEng Mechanical Engineering and I have gathered the essential documents for my visa application. My main question now is would Nysc be a problem because I did not mention it in my SOP.

Third parties sponsors have scaled through without paying a dime. You must have not been paying attention to the testimonies here. It’s all about the overall credibility the applicant is able to convey to the VO. Why sponsor is sponsoring him and if there has been evidence of past support from the same sponsor if shown, is almost a slam dunk. If he can wait till May and June, I am all for it. But he has what it takes too to apply now in my best opinion. Every month that passes the application processing time is shooting up and some people that applied in June last year missed resumption.

A quick headup. You are going for an MSc program, and you're telling the VO you want to apply the skills in your business? MSc is research programs, majorly for academics- industry RESEARCHERS. If you are business oriented or you want to work in the industry as an engineer, technologist, etc, go for M.Eng.

Depends on the school, some ask for WAEC or NECO for west African applicants. Check the school website well for their admission requirements, or better still give them a call or email for best information.
