Lionel Messi on Wednesday night scored the quickest goal of his career in the second leg round of 16 UEFA Champions League clash to put his side on the wining list Chelsea at the Camp Nou.

Messi gave Barcelona a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge. But the Argentine gave the Catalan club the advantage when he put one through the Blues goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois’ legs after just two minutes and six seconds into the game.

The goal was Messi’s 601st for Barca but it was a personal record for the 30-year-old as it was the quickest he’s ever scored for club or country.

The goal means Messi beat his previous quickest effort which came against Racing Santander in 2009 when he scored after 156 seconds.
