I always announce whenever i'm about to take a dump or get gaseous.

its only fair and expected in this IT age where everyone is on the web

i do notice however that 98% of people who open threads saying they're leaving, actually dont go anywhere. They either take up new ids or simply continue posting as if nothing happened ie as if there was no goodbye thread.
