Lelele. There are different types of MSc programs in the UK in terms of duration (1-2 years), so you decide what type you want to follow Besides, I could not go to the UK to study for only one year because at the end you come out not so good so. In mol bio, you need to be able to do so many hands- on stuff including genetic engineering (which helps me now to be able to clone you and the others ) and on that basis I selected a mol bio progam that runs for 2 years including a number of lab and industrial trainings. I am not your regular person ok? 200, 000 USD is a lot of funding money in environmental research especially these days of economic crunch in the US. You can google and see how much funds are available from EPA, USDA and other US agencies that fund environmetal research. My group is at the top of those being considered for next round of funding and that is what I and my colleagues are going to talk to them about on Monday. Again, you are so, so ignorant and I hope I have the patience to continue tutoring such a crass ignoramus. |

It is common knowledge that in addition to his fraudulent activities, MKO also had so many bas-tar-d kids from illegitimate associations. From the rage on here to defend the indefensible, it does appear that some of those bas-tar-d kids are the ones responding. Can the MKO bastards amongst you say aye! Sorry, bloody MKO rejects. |
Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by mekusxxx: 6:12pm On May 08, 2010 |
Those of you asking the silly question of why Oyibo should be the one to expose MKO, why dont you also ask why they are the ones exposing our brothers doing all sorts of fraud abroad? I give it to MKO though, he did his thing when other Nigerians were still in diapers and cleaned out as soon as he made his billions, before the deluge of drug traffickers took over. Now it is an all-comers affair. |

You all keep pretending that you have not seen thi sone too. Haahahah! Like Father Like Son Police arrest Deji Abiola over alleged N177m fraud Detectives at the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police on Monday in Lagos arrested and quizzed Mr. Deji Abiola, one of the sons of the late businessman and politician, Chief MKO Abiola, for allegedly defrauding Guaranty Trust Bank of N177m. Our correspondent gathered that Deji was also picked up for allegedly defrauding another company of $100,000. It was learnt that the management of GT Bank reported to SFU investigators that “Deji collected a facility only to disappear.” A top security source said, “He told the bank that he needed the money for the importation of some goods into the country. “There was an agreement between Deji and the bank that the bank would be involved in the sale of the goods when it arrives. But after waiting for a while, the bank became suspicious when it did not see Deji or the goods. Officials of the bank went to his house and office but he was nowhere to be found. They then made a report to the SFU that he was owing them N177m.” Operatives of the SFU were said to have arrested Deji when he showed up at the bank in Lagos on Monday for a meeting where another loan application from him was scheduled to be discussed. However, the son of the late billionaire unwittingly walked into a trap set by the investigators. The source said, “Recently, Deji applied for another facility in the bank and was asked to come for a meeting on Monday. Unknown to him, officials of the bank had alerted policemen who arrested him at the venue of the meeting in Lagos.” The source further revealed that shortly after Deji’s arrest, another company informed the SFU that he was also owing it the sum of $100,000. Our correspondent learnt that Deji, who was picked up around 2pm, was released on bail to his younger brother, Agboola, around 7p.m. The spokesman of the SFU, Mr. Ezima Akan, said he had been on vacation and had no idea of Deji’s arrest. Also, when our correspondent contacted GT Bank’s Assistant General Manager, Public Relations, Mrs. Lola Odedina, on the telephone, she said, “I have no idea. Thank you.” Our correspondent tried to reach Deji through one of his brothers, Jamiu, at 8.12pm on Monday. After enquiring about The PUNCH’s mission, he promised to contact his brother and get back to our correspondent. Jamiu called back at 9.11pm to say that he had been unable to reach his brother, as his phone was switched off. He promised to reach our correspondent whenever he was able to establish contact with Deji. |

I am sorry but that is nonsense. I agree that there is a difference between education and enlightenment but for someone who claims to have studied in at least 4 different countries, you would expect a level of exposure that would have affected his (mekusxxx) mindset positively. i was talking of in science (of course remove oxford which is losing its grounds in science). Moreover, although I schooled in the US, I have worked at one of these schools . Gave me the opportunity to compare across systems since this was supposed to be the top school in the country. Insead, Cambridge, warwick, Oxford et al Insead is a business school, warwick's reputation likewise- a lot in maths/business. Some poeple claim its engineering school like Bristol is good- but it would be at pat with lower-class engineering depts in theU. Rep is also limited more to the UK.
Ignorance- have u attended school in both the US and the UK? Also take a good look at rankings of any sort- which are usually biased towards research, and are compiled by very biased groups but they still have US schools on top. British/European schoolsare reputable in Europe. However, You would never see any nobel laureate or field medalists be churned out from them in the coming future. I have a good idea of the schools that are reputable in the UK/Europe.Unilag/UI are good schools in Nigeria, so is University of Capetown in South Africa but that does not mean they are equivalent to Harvard- is that really that hard to understand. Sefago: Really? Retard . I know you did not attend any of the golden 5 in the UK judging by your previous comments, its simple deduction. As a molecular biologist from a supposed UK institution- you should be aware of the history of molecular biology research. I would expect that your program exposed you to research papers on molecular biology. I would also have expected you to notice while reading those papers, that contributions to molecular biology and biophysics started at MRC Cambridge laboratory and then moved to Yale MBB, and has stayed there for a while. The US has always lagged in basic education, its not their forte, but they seem to be doing something right if they are still producing the greatest scientific innovations. FYI UK Schools have not produced any significant contributions to science bar MRC laboratory at cambridge- which I pray to work for Amen . Japanese Universities have surpassed British Universities- no one in the US thinks British schools are as good as Japanese schools for science. Birmingham ko, sausageham ni http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/chemistry/laureates/ The typical suspects- US Unis, Max Planck institute/Cambridge and japanese Unis |

wudd: He was likely doing a 2 year research masters program. Schools in the UK offer 2 year research programs- when I am bored I could easily find the schools which offer 2 years research degrees in Molecular biology. Moreover the BBRSC, and NERC research grants are typically limited to UK citizens. They are also typically for PhD studentships, which mekusxx did not do. However, its likely he got a scholarship for his UK masters. I dont doubt his academic qualifications- I am more interested in why he hates Yoruba people too much, you never see him focussing on the Hausa/Fulani Moreover, he would support anything, even Hitler's comeback just as long as its bad for the Yoruba |
Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by illusion2: 6:54pm On May 08, 2010 |
SEFAGO: Why are you explaining his degree for him na ,if indeed he has 2 masters & a PhD he should be able to explain himself. ? I personally suspect its his Master(- the man that brought him to Alaba from the village )'s son that has all these degrees and he's promoting the guy's identity as his own. SEFAGO:Hey guys. . .lets focus on the real retard here- mekusxxxx, this thread isn't for exchanging intellectual points of view on quality of academic programs in institutions of higher learning, but for calling out a fraud . |

Sefago, Apart from being an ignoramus, you are also a bloody lying retard? Read the quite below BBSRC has no restrictions or requirements on residency, nationality or citizenship in relation to research support staff funded from a grant. And this is not to suggest to anyone that I got my funding from BBSRC Those are my secrets and if you want to know, you must ask politely and in private |

illusion2: true, I got carried away- morning stress But mekusxx, spends half of his threads boasting of his qualifications/ the other half on tribalistic sentiments. However, i would like to know what Abiola did to him lol. I still am also trying to come to gripes how Igbo people are supporting IBB. Seems people have short memories. The collective Nigerian memory is like that of a goldfish- it lasts for 2 seconds and we forget everything someone did to us. |

I have no problem with Hausa/Fulani because they are not traitors. OBj, by denying the PDP arangement that brought him to power has again shown an example of how untrustworthy a typical Yoruba can be. THAT IS THE CRUX OF THE MATTER |

It takes somebody who is involved in what he is claiming to show some of the snippets I have shown here about myself. If you are waiting for me to post my certificates here, then I am sorry you will have to wait forever. Those are not for public consumption, not when I AM NOT APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT FROM YOU. |

And this is not to suggest to anyone that I got my funding from BBSRC I am not going to waste my time arguing on this, neither am I interested . Please provide evidence that Abiola was a drug lord. mekusxxx: LOL, really? Obj=Yoruba people. |

Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by SEFAGO(m): 7:24pm On May 08, 2010 |
mekusxxx: Just because a large number of treacherous Yoruba people feature prominently in Nigerian politics does not mean much. Just as there are people like Wole Soyinka, does not mean all Yoruba people are super literary geniuses. Just as there are frauds like emeagwali, does not mean all igbo people are frauds (debatable though ) Do you want me to link you to articles that praise MKO, as evidence of how good the man is? |
Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by SEFAGO(m): 7:27pm On May 08, 2010 |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moshood_Kashimawo_Olawale_Abiola See Abiola's influence. Pray that your life worth and impact reaches half of his. Moshood Abiola invested heavily in Nigeria and West Africa. He set up Abiola Farms, Abiola bookshops, Radio Communications Nigeria, Wonder bakeries, Concord Press, Concord Airlines, Summit oil international ltd, Africa Ocean lines, Habib Bank, Decca W.A. ltd, and Abiola football club. In addition to this he also magaged to perform his duties as Chairman of the G15 business council, President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Patron of the Kwame Nkrumah Foundation, Patron of the WEB Du Bois foundation, trustee of the Martin Luther King foundation and director of the International Press Institute Really? A drug lord mekusxx really "Because of this man, there is both cause for hope and certainty that the agony and protests of those who suffer injustice shall give way to peace and human dignity. The children of the world shall know the great work of this extraordinary leader and his fervent mission to right wrong, to do justice, and to serve mankind. The enemies which imperil the future of generations to come: poverty, ignorance, disease, hunger, and racism have each seen effects of the valiant work of Chief Abiola. Through him and others like him, never again will freedom rest in the domain of the few. We, the members of the Congressional Black Caucus salute him this day as a hero in the global pursuit to preserve the history and the legacy of the African diaspora Moshood Abiola was detained for four years, largely in solitary confinement with a Bible, Qur'an, and fourteen guards as companions. During that time, Pope John Paul II, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and human rights activists from all over the world lobbied the Nigerian government for his release. I can only shake my head at our short memories, and cry for us. Because I am well aware that I cannot change your attitudes. Moshood Abiola was twice voted international businessman of the year, and received numerous honorary doctorates from universities all over the world. In 1987 he was bestowed with the golden key to the city of Washington D.C., and he was bestowed with awards from the NAACP and the King center in the USA, as well as the International Committee on Education for Teaching in Paris, amongst many others. Mekuszxx biko, come hia, please explain to me how a drug lord achieved. Even more so, name one spare parts dealer who has achieved so significantly?? |

Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by SEFAGO(m): 7:36pm On May 08, 2010 |
This is what the illiterates Igbo boy was claiming about Fela's song and using it as "evidence" The most widely known critic of Chief Abiola, was Fela. In his twenty-five minute song "ITT" (International Thief Thief), although the song was not about Moshood Abiola, he mentioned the name of both Olusegun Obasanjo and Moshood Abiola at the very end. It is far less widely known that Fela had been signed to Moshood Abiola's record label, Decca W.A. and had a dispute over royalties with him. When Abiola asked Fela to take him to court if he felt that he had been treated unfairly, he instead opted to destroy the studio's of Decca. This may have been because Abiola's influence and Fela's unpopularity with the establishment would have made it unlikely that he received a fair trial. |
