I understand your need. If you're writing or preparing for an exam anytime soon, you should consider taking a one-man room in a female hostel in UNILAG YABATECH environs. It costs #35k per month to stay and you'll enjoy all the facilities.
However, if you choose apartments, you'll end up paying higher or not paying at all because it's too high. A room self contained apartment for shortlet costs an average of #150k per month. And they won't collect less than 4months from you. Except it's not in Yaba areas or neighborhood. I've been working as an agent for the past 9 years, so I know what am saying.

closest is iyana oworo direct vehicle to ikoyi and you can also get a nice selfcon around alapere.
