Those defending Buhari's statement probably have injury to their brains.

Why in fvck's name would you be differentiating between all and a lot?

Out of the lot that he mentioned how many does he personally know apart from his layabout bike-riding kids who do nothing but sit pretty in the presidential palace with probably no skills except waiting to get married to some rich dude or dudess.

If Nigerian youths vote for this imbecilic President come 2019 then that would mean that they are indeed the illiterates they were branded as.

There is no point trying to analyse the word he used -Lot, a lot, most. etc.

What is clear is that a leader, a president should not sell out or tarnish the image of his people with such words as lazy, not willing to work and so on.

As a leader, you are supposed to defend your people wherever you are and when given the opportunity to speak about them.

A leader should motivate and not demoralize the people he leads.

Have the president ever addressed us with encouraging words ? Never.

During this period of recession it is expected for a good leader to regularly motivate, encourage and inspire us until we are out of this economic recession.

Bro, that comment by Buhari was a great blow. Judging the unfriendly environment an average Nigerian youth grew up from, no sane leader with human feeling could have made such comment. Even if he said "few Nigerians"

Do u kmow how many FG jobs are given to the few politically controlled few in Nigeria? An average Nigerian youth battles with poor electricity supply, bad road, poor salary pay, poor internet connection, insecurity, expensive fuel, extremely competitive labour market, etc. U still have the heart to tag 'a lot' of them to be lazy? That is not fair!

Sometimes, ur job as a media spokesperson is to control a damage and one of such ways is to tender an apology.

It is a shame that even as a young media person, which I am, I can educate people like u and Adesina that this damage would av been better controlled via an apology than twisted reality.

I'm sure I can do the job better then.

When you say a lot of, it means so many which could be up to half, or more than half. So, are you saying up to half/more than half of Nigerian youths are lazy?

You are obviously the intellectual lazy one here and in my own opinion I would say 90% of Nigerian youths are hardworking than delusional people like.

Its so sad this is coming from one of the laziest commanders in chiefs that ever ruled the country, the same person who rather spends months on medical vacation overseas and prefers to work from home while is he around,he definitely needs to take crash a crash course on PR because his statements abroad are undiplomatic and counter productive to the country at large.

The question you should be asking yourself is how many of buharis mate got a bachelors degree at all,the problem we have in this country is the older generation and folks like u who enjoyed better opportunities back in those days and have successfully destroyed such opportunities due to greed which is the motivation of the older generation.

Many of these people enjoyed free education to start with and I can vividly remember back in the days, getting a job as a bachelors degree holder was way too easy and guess what it comes with mouth watering allowances and loans of getting a brand new car,do such opportunities still exist in today's Nigeria.

The British left a standard legacy of quality and free education but the likes of Buhari ruined it,check out the quality of building in many of the old missionary built schools around the country and compare them to what our older generation want for us and you will see the difference is clear, some of the facilities in most of these missionary colleges can compete favorably with some universities today.

Nigerian youths are very talented and I see talents wasting away every where I turn,in contrast to your logic, its the responsibility of the government to give the youths education,India also has a high population of youths and they send their best on scholarship to the US and UK and Europe to study,I mean millions of them, why can't Nigeria tow that line,India is now a force to reckon with in the world take it or leave it.

There isn't anything wrong in the government giving freebies in form of welfare to the youths either,if the Saudis,Qatari youth's who are also dependent on oil can enjoy freebies why not Nigerians, meanwhile I have never seen any Nigerian waiting for the government for housing, when they can't even provide portable water yet,you and your buhari are nothing but Ignorant and delusional dolts.

President Buhari is just too blunt....

Now let's look at these established findings;

1) Do you know that over 65 million youths are illiterates in Nigeria – UNESCO, 2017

2) Nigeria also leads in the world's uneducated children - Newsweek, 2017

Nigeria has 'largest number of children out-of-school' in the world - BBC, 2017

Fact check;
You can hate Buhari, but the truth is that he stated the obvious and again, what is already known around the world. You should understand by now that PMB is not like any typical politician and because of that, he says things the way they are. He is just honest to a fault. It may not be diplomatically okay considering the environment of such communication.

Did you just say honest? A man reinstated a pension thief Maina through the back door and when the alarm blew, he was not man enough to stand by his decision. Today both Maina, Attorney General, minister of interior and all those who perpetrated the scam are walking free as if nothing happened.
Some of you in a hurry to suck PMBs blokos throw up words you can't defend. Why not check the real meaning of honesty before you start fooling yourself unbehalf of someone who does not even know you exist.

a lot of them = many of them

most of them = majority of them

out of 100,000 people 60,000 would amount to most of them

out of 100,000 people even 10,000 could amount to a lot of them

a lot of nigerian youths are not only lazy physically

they are also intellectually lazy

[quote] Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose called on the youths to show Buhari that they are not lazy and uneducated by voting against him in 2019. He said it was painful that the president could describe youths in Nigeria that were daily struggling to make a living under a harsh economy as lazy people.

I HAVE NEVER VOTED BEFORE AND I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T AS WELL BUT PLEASE ALL YOUTHS SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT THEIR PVCs ARE HANDY AND READY FOR USE COME 2019.

Nonsense, intellectually lazy lot; this is how many fail their exams, simple comprehension dem no sabi but will be claiming certificate - keep deceiving yourselves with silly misinterpretations.

In fact I also quite agree with the president concerning the growing number of youths unaware of the dwindling fortunes of this country (after years of PDP mismanagement) and therefore the realities on the ground, and their unwillingness to adjust their expectations by being more creative and resourceful; instead of waiting on government for white collar jobs in air conditioned offices - so that they too would contribute to the bloating of our ever growing inefficient corrupt civil service.

Yes, many among them no longer believe in hard work but in easy expensive fake lifestyles they see being lived by some celebrities; this explains for why the youths dominate cyber and violent crimes such as yahoo yahoo, kidnapping and armed robbery etc.

Take it or leave it; thats the truth - no apologies to anyone who disagrees.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say but your statement happen to be the Most ridiculous statement have ever read, if not that pounds is on the high side would have suggest u import a good working brain from the UK but u can still get fairly used from Cotonou cos it will be cheaper. un repented zombie
