A pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in calabar last week refused to Wed a couple who had showed up in church for the wedding solemnization.
According to Cali town. Com, this was as a result of the bride to be been a month pregnant but which was kept a secret from the church. However,church officials got to know this and since it's a taboo in AG to have pressure marital sex before marriage, the church stood her grounds despite all entreaties from the guests who had showed up.
The attitude of the pastor did not go down well with the brother to the bride as he beat the pastor until he was taken away by security personnel from the church. It is believed that the wedding ceremony was moved to another church.

Why would the pastor do such?

Were the couple not REPENTANT? Did they not report themselves? Even if they were caught in the very ACT.... hmmm

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?!

Keep wondering where most churches abi pastors get their doctrine from..

Mary was already carrying Jesus in her womb.. before Joseph was made to marry her. They where not condemn.. not even by those who knew nothing of the prophecy.

Some churches need to wake up.. who are they to judge

Let's be realistic here. AG is a very strict & disciplined Church. It's almost just like Deeper Life, Mountain of Fire, etc. Now, I don't blame the Pastor for what he did. The would-be couple knew the Church's Law before agreeing to be wedded there. Why then did they flaunt that rule? And to make matters worse, they kept that one month pregnancy a secret.

In fact; in some Churches, you would be required to do a pregnancy test that morning before you are joined together. I remember one I was one of the bridesmaids. The wedding didn't start until the pregnancy result came out. That was an Anglican Church.

Another one was in a Redeemed Church. That was the original venue for the wedding. But alas, on tge eve of the wedding day, we received word that the wedding has been shifted to another Church. I put two & two together and concluded that pregnancy was involved.

If there are no rules in Church for things like this, we shouldn't wonder much what would be happening therein.
