They will have to revamp the whole immigration system first to even make it workable.
Especially Asylum.
But with the Supreme Court in the hands of Republicans, I'm sure they'll find a rational to bypass the Asylum laws if challenged.

But, that's just one of the many problems.
There are so many jobs that undocumented immigrants fill that would cause ripples through the economy.
Least being inflation.
I watch people harvesting crops and am always amazed at how hard they work to meet their quotas.

Going to enjoy watching the Trump supporters in this thread rationalizing all to come.

Your point on the illegal immigrants doing a particular type of job is very poignant. To be honest, there are not many Americans that would be willing to pick oranges for $1 per hour or $1 per day. Or maybe big agriculture would replace the illegal immigrant workers with robots, who knows🤷🏾

If a parent commits a crime, they separate the child from the parent. E.g If a parent is driving drunk with a child or steals, they take the parent to jail and separate the child. So what is the big issue about it?

If the child is too young to stay alone and ant t stay with the parent then it becomes their choice t leave with the child if the parent is deported, the child can always come back and he/she has a right to stay. The child is not getting deported, the parent is and the child chose to go with the parent.

What is a better option for a child of a criminal who is to be deported? Note the child is not a criminal and has rights to stay in the country

I hear you.

As you said, the child won’t get deported. So what I believe what Trump would do is that he would eventually create a pathway for parents of US citizen children to attain legal status without deportation. Even Trump surrogates have said they would, for now, prioritize deportation of illegal immigrants that have criminal records (either from another country or the U.S.)

Moreover, Trump, knowing that he only has 4 more years and no prospect of another term after 2029, wouldn’t mind cutting deals with Democrats on immigration and some other issues. He would, in the interest of the majority of Republicans in Congress who are moderates, and a likely Democratic House, want to concentrate on the specifics of immigration reform that a large swath of both parties and independents agree on.

Let America wait for Mr. Musk's robot to start farm work. Until then, they should leave the farm workers alone as long at they don't commit crime.

The Robot we read about are restaurants and house cleaning ones 😁.

Need farm help robots at cheaper prices that can withstand CA heat, dry dust etc before deporting farm workers.

Quickly you and the rest not working on the farm should be deported cheesy I support that.
Farm workers who did not commit crime should be left to continue their work. Criminals should go back to where they came from.

Musk's Robots that humans controlled? lol

But I watch a lot of those farming clips.
There are already a ton of new cool machines that make harvesting easier.
But still need some labor.

But, unfortunately, the fear alone is going to make it harder to retain the workers.
Already happened in Florida. When they did their immigration push it hurt the Agriculture industry there.
A year later, Florida businesses say the state's immigration law dealt a huge blow

You think housing costs are bad now, going to get worse when housing construction costs increase because of the lack of immigrant labor in construction.

I perfectly understand the rationale behind deporting undocumented migrants who have a criminal record. In fact, most Americans (including Democrats) would support that.
However, the situation becomes tricky if a Trump administration goes ahead to deport U.S. citizens, who are kids, alongside their parent(s) who are undocumented.
The Trump administration would likely face legal challenges if they go ahead to deport U.S. citizens
I mean, they want to end birthright citizenship, and have talked about denaturalization. Interpret that as you will.

It is normal procedure to deport undocumented immigrants who commit crimes. No one has ever really stated a problem with that.

The question is, about the millions who's only crime is crossing a border, based on the current messaging they're also on the chopping block.
The level of force and logistics it would take to deport that many people would be a massive disaster.
However there is a chance that never happens considering how many industries relay on undocumented immigrant labour, it would be against the interest of the capital class to have that.
