You better leave faith and religion out of this. It is still God that gave doctors this knowledge. Go to the hospital and see SS children suffering with your own eyes, you will never try what you're suggesting.

If you're AS, the key to avoiding unnecessary heartbreak is to stop hiding your status. Let every potential bf/gf know on time, before emotions set in and cloud your judgement. I have seen too many sickle cell families first hand and close range. Trust me, it's not a pretty sight. Just one case is enough to cause a world of pain and regrets to the whole family. am currently having the same issue , though my case I different cuz I haven't gotten the balls to go for genotype test ever since my girl broke the awful news of being an AS , friends and family has persuaded me to go for the test but the fear of being an AS is grabbing me ,though I know qm committing the greatest mistake by keeping deaf hears to advises ...

I do not agree with you that our forefathers gave birth to healthy parents and all that. Have you sat with most of those very old people and listen to their stories? You'll hear of a mother giving birth like 10 times and only just 2 out of those made it to adulthood. I am aware that there could be other factors responsible, but what do you think could be the cause of that?

Have you been to every family to know the babies genotype or stories? In Yoruba beliefs/myths there's something called "abiku"(when babies keeps dying early), this was lack and ignorance of genotype test but people back then think it's a curse from the Gods or some other mythical causes.

Get informed and stop thinking like an ignorant person.

It's bout ur believe. I think there are more AA than any other genotype out there. I'm AA and all the guys that have ever approached me, I guess only one out of 10 has ever told me he's AS. So if you see it in ur mind that there are more AA, you can hold it in reality. I had a SS friend, it's not a wishful sight at all. God help u gal.
