Your forefathers didn't do this and that...i bet you heard of 'ogbanje' and the likes in their times. What do you think led to those deaths?...ignorance is very costly

NaijaElba:

Seems you are with me in this. I think Education and too much exposure is doing more harm than good which is making a lot of ladies lose good men that comes their ways. In this girl case, what happens to those illiterate that impregnate themselves anyhow without doing any test. How many cases of SS have they recorded with the way people sleep around without checking their genotype status. Our forefathers didn't do all these funny test before they give birth to our healthy parents. I just have the believe that if AS vs AS couple have the mind or thought of given birth to SS, it will surely come to them. One needs to be positive in life.

I do agree with you completely. When it comes to man woman matter, its a difficult one to really dissect.

I know of two friends who are both AS. While the guy was willing to push ahead, the lady left the guy and now married to AA guy but i can tell you today that she is still struggling as she already had two miscarriage. I dont rejoice in her pain and i feel for her. There maybe medical reasons but going for AA isnt changing anything. Afterall, she is healthy even being an AS. Ofcourse we also considered the spiritual angle and when i spoke with about her with a spiritual minded person and he said she would have been more happier with the previous guy. Well, you a med person from your responses and am sure you know what you saying.

While science may say otherwise, that one shot at happiness maybe prove maybe the best way and prove otherwise if the believe is strong but then, you right, we cant ognore the medical implication

I'm very sure there are many other reasons why she might be having a miscarriage that is totally unrelated to her Genotype

Genotype is not a known causative factor for miscarriage

Miscarriage could be due to genetic defects in early fetal life, intrauterine masses, infections, rhesus Isoimmunization, etc blah blah blah

She should see her doctor who will do some investigations and find out why she's miscarrying her pregnancies

However on whether she would have been happier with the first guy, maybe yes, maybe no.

Only God knows the beginning and the end. Her life here hasn't ended. Who's to say in the next one month from now, she won't be happy with this guy?

Happiness is relative, what is making her happy outside of Genotype issues with a guy? Is it money, career, drive, love, family, whatever. That's what she needs to work on, not just assuming that she could've been happier somewhere else.

If she has had two kids with SS with the previous guy, and she has been watching the two children screaming 'mommie' I'm in pain, running up and down to look for blood almost every time, then she would value happiness.

Sometimes it takes experience to explain these things.

If you know, you know!

To each one his or her own.

PS: AS are completely normal. It's only SS that has issues.

Like I said before, do ur research. Google can help

What is yahoo+ in this matter on ground? Meanwhile, can you provide proof of oyinbo that juju worked on? Mtchew

I have seen many of your posts and I wonder the basis of your education. Education has to do with three things :
1) WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNT
2) WHAT YOU UNLEARN
3) WHAT YOU RELEARN
Without this three steps, your education process is faulty.

Whatever things you have learnt before, check them thoroughly, unlearn those you see are not beneficial or working, then relearn to get new knowledge. If you still stay on the level of what you have learnt for so many years, then your education is faulty.

Not entirely correct. Even if you are AA, make sure you do not have beta thelesema, If you do, then only marrying an AA can help you.

I saw this comment as unique. I've always believed there are grades in each genotype but don't have a proof. I learnt there are dominant and recessive genes, does it have to do with these grading?
Some SS will be looking healthy and normal while some will be looking sickly and obese mere seeing them.
Btw, I'm AA. Just needs some clarification.

I only came into this knowledge a couple of months ago. I am AA but also found out i have beta thelesema. I dont fully understand its workings, but the much i know is that for me to have healthy kids, i have to marry AA

Do you have concrete evidence to back it up that children dyeing then we're not Ogbanje? That they passed away simply because they're SS?

As you've rightly said, those days they don't eat chemical food which has helped them and take a lot of herbs and not now that same oyinbo condemned our herbs by telling us it's killing our kidney and yet they're selling same their herbs to us in a modernize ways i.e GNLD and so on.

The fact remains the Oyinbo have tried their best for humanity but I don't subscribe to every of their theory.

...

and do you have concrete evidence to back your claim up, that children die over and over are not from parents with AS -AS? as opposed? ..

like you, I don't also buy into all the European beliefs and claims , or even some scientific dispositions ..

but on this case guy, its fact ,..

back then in school, Sherif my good Frnd , who's an SS, later died at age 14, after being sick over and over ..

his parents took it upon themselves to open an awareness foundation on genotype .. they both haven't given birth since , (after they lost 3kids that died almost same age as Sherif who's is the last ) the parents love each other obviously, despite they are both AS AS .. ..

that's one of many other cases ..

now give me an instance where two AS got married and gave birth to am AA? or where an SS lasted till old age , or where an SS has both parents AA? ..

So people still think this way?

SMH. If you know the no of SS patients I see per day, you'll eat your words. There's even a Sickle Cell Clinic in our centre where we attend to numerous sickle cell patients.

Honestly, the AS I know are strong, energetic and hardly get sick. Their only problem is the gene aspect.
AA and malaria are 5 & 6.
