is it possible for a woman to miss her monthly cycle for two months and still not be pregnant. This is the situation i find myself. The pregnancy test we did in two different places was negative and yet she has not seen her cycle for months. is there any medical explanation to this.

yes, it could be due to other factors and not a pregnancy.

Hormones Baby, hormones! I am not a doctor or a nurse but I am a voracious reader, my love of reading has exposed me to lots. I have only come across two women that have had ceasation of their period. One has hormonal imbalance that sometimes causes her period to cease for months and when it returns, runs for weeks too. In the medical field such women are placed on hormonal treatments.
The second person that I have seen was suffering from leukamia. Your wife need to visit a doctor to check and be able to cross out these if they are not the cause. She should first undergo two more pregnancy test to be able to rule out pregnancy entirely before checking out on the others okay. Seek the advice of qualified doctors too they may have other takes to it. Hey where are the doctors in the house? we need you here now. I will recommend that while these tests are ongoing that she be including more of spinach (akwukwo nri) and Ugu to her meals, they are great sources of folic acid, I try to include them in my meal and when I do that I notice a great boost in my blood and my overall vitality. Do give her much support and love, she sure needs them at this time.

Your complaints are not uncommon in gynaecology. As suggested by a poster earlier on ceasation of menses could be due to hormonal imbalance. It can also be due to change of environment like leaving the tropics where the weather is relatively hot to a temperate environment where the weather is very cold.It can also be due to emotional upset. My advise is that you visit a doctor who will run investigations and also take your medical history and examine you and ultimately determine what may be wrong with you.Though hormonal imbalance is very likely to be high on the score sheet because in medicine, we say common things occur commonly.CHEERS!

Very very possible. One of the reason I am aware of is an abrupt weight loss

Draig is right. This is exactly what happen to my colleague who was very anxious to get pregnant. Stress and depression caused her hormonal imbalance that leads to missed periods. To be sure, please visit your OB/gynecologist.
