STORY OF HOW MUHAMMADU BUHARI SAVED 26 IGBO PEOPLE COMPRISING OF 3 BROTHERS BORN BY SAME PARENTS, THEIR 3 WIVES, AND THEIR CHILDREN, BOTH KIDS AND GROWN UP CHILDREN, WHEN HE WAS GOC OF 3RD MECHANIZED DIVISION OF NIGERIAN ARMY, PICTURE WAS WHEN HE WAS PROMOTED A MAJOR GENERAL IN 1983.……

A family of the same parents who were termed ‘OSU’ (outcasts) was being hounded by the shrine where they were dedicated by their great, grandfathers because they refused to worship the deity again, and they decided to flee their domain.

They packed their little belongings and ran away, got to Onitsha and found their way through a 911 truck to ‘Bauchi Park’ in Jos city, when they got to Jos, they were practically sleeping at Bauchi park with the kids,they left there to Rayfield area of Jos, a high-brow area of Jos and formed a small camp there,and the people living there called the police that strange people have taken over their area, that they were no longer safe.

In Jos, Buhari as GOC moves around on patrols most times solely, on that breezy and very cold night, Buhari was moving around and saw where people were being molested and being bundled inside pick-up vans, Buhari stopped, and asked questions,and he was told what happened,Buhari told police people,he was following them to their station.

When they got to station, Buhari told them, he was going to take the whole family on bail, police refused and said big people are interested in the case,it was then,Buhari introduced himself,and they were jittery and released them to Buhari,and Buhari called for more cars,and lo and behold, he took everybody to his official quarters in Jos,he housed them,fed them and they lived with them,they narrated their story,and he told them, that he will get a house for them in town, and he helped to place the children in Schools.

Then one morning, Buhari appeared in their house and told them that time has come to go and secure them in their village, they moved down, when the villagers saw military men, they were scared, and from then onwards, that deity seized to exist.

The good side of the story is that the brothers we are talking about are one of the wealthiest families in Igbo land today,with their children working in great financial institutions like,CHASE MANHATTAN BANK, IMF, ADB, and Bank PARIBAS, in France, their names are withheld for a reason, but you will all read their names in my book on Buhari and will see some of them, when the book will be launched, Buhari has always been kind to people.
