OMG, chapel looks the bomb in that pix and ofcos the CST building, used to browsed there like crazy, but always queueing for someone to bounce. Hmm, i recall 'em Pastors Agada and DSA leaving in my final semester at CU. what bout Pastor Macaulay, I love this man's demonstrartion on the Pulpit . I heard you guys have started swipping your e-tranzact cards to show attendance in chapel? Dem just dey start wahala for you guys evry semester! lol. Also, what is this stuff about you i saw on the home page bout you being good in bed. A CU girl for that matter. You even had the liver to post your pixs.I pity ya, . U are kind of behaving naive, are you are freshman girl there , because you should know a student council member can just print all your nairaland transcripts out and nail you in the chapel when PAPA is around!. You better remove 'em pixs from your profile or quit visiting 'em sexuality threads, lol. |

Re: Covenant University by hurleyk(m): 3:23pm On Feb 20, 2007 |
hey , you guys need to be updated on whats really down in Covenant University, i hope you know that the cheapest fees you can pay in there is now 350,000 Naira while if you are in College of science and technology you pay as much as 396,000, and God bless you if you are doing your post-graduate which is compulsory for architecture students, then you might be ready to sell a car in your house to pay your fees, the fact still remains that the Visioneer has a very good vision, but it would require a lot of money to finance it, the painful thing is just how many people would have to withdraw along the line just because they cant pay the fees, if you are not ready to be spiritually imparted, covenant university would be worse than a polytechnic for you, also if you want to come to covenant, make sure you have at least 2 million Naira, not cedis somewhere , if you know you dont want to drop out, thats my opinion about all those fuzz. Anyway i think im in a better position to talk because i have graduated from the school already. |

CU gives scholarships but how many students can merit the scholaship? all of y'all shoutin that its a xtian school and y its so xpensive, u should v told us that it was stones they used to build d skul and no moni was involved and to maintain it, they should come to ur houses to ask u to contibute 4 them to maintain it ini? If ure dat religious build charity schools 4 d country and maintain it, lets c, funnything!!! its not compulsory and u dat said theyre few priviledged ones in d country, cos d skul has 4, students, how many 9jerian students r ouside d country?u can pour ur fustration on the govt not on xtian schools ok? thats their quota to the country, study hard and get a scholarship into one, or wait let d rich ones enter and like seun said there will be space(s)4 u in the govt owned ones, abeg |
Re: Covenant University by BabyGaddy(f): 9:32am On Aug 17, 2007 |
TO Cu students in diaspora were your certificates accepted or did u have to sit other exams to get into other universities. At the moment in the UK - privately owned university certificates are not really accepted, sayin that some universities will offer you the opportunity do extra courses (maybe 1yr) then further with them In my opinion, the fees are one thing, but paying 1m for a 4yr course and getting a certificate is , If they want to create private universities, it should be done well, the envirionment should be no to any other universities (ie u shld allow kids to be kids) not saying its good for a child to smoke, but will u have a child smoke at 18 and then get rid of it in their 20s or wld u marry a wife who smokes cos she did not experiment in school. I also wld say, all facilities shld be provided, so if its computers ( i mean up to date softwares and machinery enough for the students) a possible ratio of 3:1 student and not 100:1. This is so funny, some students came to my uni from naija (pls nairalanders this no b abuse o, just to show how far behind we (naija as a whole) are behind), one of d guys was exceptionally brilliant, the guy na computer guru for paper, by the time he joined us he had completed his CISCO exam frm naija but the guy had never seen a router before, He was honest (now a serious earner here) but he risked it all/ at his first job, God smiled on him, he met a naija at the interview and he told d bobo the truth (d bobo later became his oga) and the bobo said fine, if u get the job, i go teach u!!! That was nice, but if it had been the other way round? All i am saying is if my son was to go to that school: 1) Will his certificate be accepted worlwide as a Bsc (whatever) 2) Will have been a child that he was supposed to be, ie done all d smoking, the wahala, the nonsense he should have done in Uni. I remember during my days at command Jos, men all the sneaking to boys hostel and vice versa, all the sneaking out etc. I believe it gave me a good grounding / exposure to life. By the time i was 17, men i knew what aristo was and had a few examples of girls the aristos had 419. Not good, but it helped me decide i was not heading that way, imagine if i had been in a nunnery, trust me i would b running the streets now after Dangote and not making use of all the Bill Gates brain God has given me! Sorry abt the long post! Just my 2 cents! Thanks |

Re: Covenant University by fuzek: 8:43pm On Aug 17, 2007 |
1st first all, not evry1 smoked in their lifetime, so it doesnt mata xperiencing and quitting. because not all who did quitted and not all who didnt eventually did. so i really don't buy that. d skul is only helpin them and the earlier u c that, d beta. and not evry1 in d skul is inexperienced and trust me expeience isnt no best teacher; d Holyspirit is, its a xtian skul; we all know 2nd paragraf: ure actually talking about the govt schools here not the private, all private uni's v this facilities and especially this one we're talkin about and almost all students in such faculties v their own laptops, so get it strait i've met wit alot of this students and i must tell u, im very proud of them, and talkin about the cetificates, i sure know its accepted here wia i am and in oda places i know of, i v friends working wit it and my sister is studyin architecture there and its wit masters degree ok, be specific next time |
Re: Covenant University by BabyGaddy(f): 8:35am On Aug 19, 2007 |
Fuzek, Well, let me start by saying that u misunderstood me. i gave an example with smoking, not everyone smokes and some will and stop but some will carry on. My point was that i will like kids to do what they are supposed to do as kids and not the other way round. Yeah its a christian school, so is Oral Roberts University. check out their school, its has no reports of the such we are hearing from Convenant and it has been around for how many yrs. I can confirm that the Ministry of defence here in the UK will NOT accept students from CU into their graduate program irregardless of their status (meaning even british kids wey attend no go enter). I also know some universities here will not accept them into their masters programme, wat is the point of payin som much and u r already limited in where ur certficate is accepted. Havin ur laptop is good, but does d school provide its own. I studied at a university where some lecturers gave assignment based on programs or software in school only (databases) if u have ur laptop good, u can do the design at home, but u will need permission to still log into d database at sch using d school's suystem. Laptop is k 4 d rich kids, but i have heard a lot on this thread abt even d church memebers not been able to afford d fees. Laptop shld b a luxury in such a sch and not a necesity (so i guess u r off point on that one). Please look at Oral Roberts uni and c the accreditation it has attained. CU hasnt got 1/100th of it, why waste ur money is my question. is it really worth it. u go to medical sch to come out after 7yrs and b told u have to do another 1yr or 2yrs to get certified b4 u can proceed (y) If d sch wants to charge, fine, but b sure that ur students can come out with a certificate dat is accepted worlwide. Another example, contact the London Business school and tell them u r from CU a private uni in naija and c wat they say. use another email add, contact them that u r from unilag in naija and c wat they say. If i where stuk in naija, i dont know what i will do, but i will consider it well well b4 i spend money 4 Cu or any private uni, y not go to ghana where their certs are recongnised one time. y not try neigbourin african countries if money na wahal, for 250k naira in ghana u will def go far cos our money is alot stronger than theirs. Thanks |

It's a solid university. |
Re: Covenant University by fuzek: 6:15pm On Aug 19, 2007 |
Dear BabyGaddy, i said CU provides computers for all their students and even some students have individual laptops for personal purposes ( u can consider it as luxury)----but d school we're talking about is accredited and all their courses too. those who told u that even d students that goes to d church can't afford---lied, because even d church contributed to the building of the school and the church tries to help its members and outsiders by providing scholarships!!!!!and if its scholarship, im sure u know it has to be merited and not on d grounds of church members. CU also has its affiliation with Oral Roberts Univ--------by the way, im not a CU graduate/undergraduate but i have a sister there and i also have friends that graduated from there. A friend of mine there studying Comp Eng, was in d UK for her IT and trustme she had no problem watsoeva and even plans to work afterwards there wit d same company---------so, where its not accepted i don't know and i don't care because i have human proofs, so get that strait. And just like ure comparing it wit Oral Roberts', u v to realise that different individuals own the school even if theyre both xtians and share same views in some things, but d fact remains that as d owner he has his principles/visions 4 d school. D failure or success of the school; he will give account.------so lets just leave him to his business IMHO |
Re: Covenant University by BabyGaddy(f): 8:30pm On Aug 19, 2007 |
Yes, I quiet agree. ur examples are one or two of the thousands that pass out of CU. Yes, the success / failure of d school is the responsibilty of the owner (yes / no) yes - but what is he measuring his success by. is it by producing a class students who cant fit into society (pls o na example o) or is it by producing soley christian kids - remember the bible says Jesus came not becos of the saved but becos of the unsaved. I agree to disagree on his affiliation, according to the school when contacted they are still workin on theri accreditation. y build a university, charge people and u r working on what i will call the most important basis of their attending university. Enough of all this arguement, i support the guy, i am only saying, that in all our ways we must get understaning. we must balance all 3 aspects of life for our kids ( i am a mother of a boy). his spiritual life must be well balanced with his physical / emotional being. Y does the bible say give unto ceasars what is ceasars and unto God what is God. i expect my son to have done wat his father / uncle / etc did when they ere kids. Salavation is a choice and should not be forced down any1 throat. Private universities in naija is good, but it must also b liberal, it may b d way forward, but wat way forward is it if we start producing kids who can quote bible from gen 2 rev, have 1st class but yet dont know how to toast a girl or even sef how to chase woman, or in d girls case how to post / pose for man. abi na i receive u i take born the pikin. My friend, my hubby chased and i posed (all learnt from school) gba be o, and today its still a topic dat we discuss and laugh abt, we are both christians, i dont remember quoting any verse in d bible during the course of chaing / posing. If he had i for run 10k miles afterall who wan marry brother. na verse i go chop for bed. (again just another example) University is a place for matured students so they shld all b treated as such. Thanks |
Re: Covenant University by fuzek: 12:02am On Aug 20, 2007 |
My dear babygaddy, i agree wit u as well, but iv being to the school and atleast wit my sister there i know its a normal school to me 4real, all dos pranks pple play as kids and even teens/youths------but d fact is just they dont want a misplacement of priority. students date and do all dat and salvation there as well is by choice, only dat u v to keep hearing the messages by going to d chapel (which is compulsory), but no1 forces u to get saved. and also its not 1/thousands that graduate from there dat can get jobs abroad, those dat intend to go abroad wit it do so freely.----and CU has d highest no of courses accredited by d NUC amongst all oda private universities. pls compare Igbinedion graduates/undergrads wit CU Trustme il alwais respect CU, i went to Igbins b4 leavin 9ja, so i know wat im talkin about lets just pray 4 them to do their best 4 d nation thru their products-----thats all no more arguements----------friends ini? |
Re: Covenant University by BabyGaddy(f): 4:50pm On Aug 20, 2007 |
My darling Fuzek!! Ok i c u want to start naija war for here ba!! I appreciate all ur comments and take it on board. I think my comments was meant for ALL private unis in naija and not CU. I am quiet pleased with the comments u made and the maturity u take handle am! Yes o, them need our prayers. but more we parents (and parents to be) need to exhaust all our breaths to get value 4 money 4 our children and also give them d edge in whatever we provice. All the money spent in private uni and u go still use 8days prayer in one week to back it up - why not send the childto ghana and get better. As a matter of fact, the child will stand a better chance of workin in ghana with the certificate and probably an international company based in ghana. yes the money no beta like naira, but they get d start required. I don tire for all this naija wahala. at the moment my son is in secondary sch there, waitin for him to finish and then we take it frm there. It has not been an easy task, its a private school and VERY well known, + extremely expensive, yet my son came home with malnutrition, sickness etc. It was both our faults and the school. ours (his parents) in the sense that we entrusted him to family and friends (big mistake) no one knows a child like the parents, with the school, they totally messed up. Thankfully after his dr here fired them series of letters and pics etc they have accepted faults and have called us in for a meeting as he wants to go back to the school. Simple things such as weighing children would have pointed out a child skippin meals. in this age where all the little girls want to be like Posh 'were' spice, wont u have thought that a school will be watching for signs of anorexia / bullimia, Lets see what our meeting brings out, i have told the head teacher, take a wrong step and i will pay ovation to carry the news. So i hope they are preparing! Forcing adults to go chapel , Wonders no go end - so it means say muslim pikin must convert to christian - again arrant nonsense, some muslim parents wont have a choice due to limited choices in university. so see dilema o, i get money, i be muslim but now i have to make a choice whether my pikin go forsake islam becos of book, arisekola will ground his girls home! NO SCHOOL B THAT. Fuzek, make we begin to pray well well. for me, my prayer b say make God open my eye, make i see where i go deposit money 4 my children future, but i am not counting on naija pass secondary school. If na Ghana, oya make we all move go! Abi wetin man 4 do! Thanks o my brother, at least ur research help me see road small! |
Re: Covenant University by fuzek: 8:06pm On Aug 20, 2007 |
Lovely BabyGaddy, we should pray but also hope the best 4 9jeria. there are many private univs in 9jeria, so actually a muslem can't be in a fix atall. talking about Ghana, im sure it took them time 4 them to have such univs and Nigeria is gettin there, its a matter of time and our support and prayers, talkin about expense aswell we have to know dat the schools need enuf (and i mean alot) to maintain and keep it fxnin and make it as comfortble as possible.u know u really need to go back home and see good changes esp d private school-----4real, well oneday and verysoon u'l be very very very proud of nigeria esp the academic part, very very soon its nice sharing ideas with u esp as a parent, i understand u because atleast i v parents and i know d decisions they had to make to give (We) children, the best in life---iknow u want the best 4 your kids too |
