For many (NOT ALL) girls, a girl to get over her first, she has to go on a long journey (and I dont mean sleeping around, though this could happen) and ultimately get over him. This wont mean she's forgotten him, but if she meets Mr. Right, she will be thinking about the first and the last (the new guy).

Girls get attached to the first love, and many guys who know this tend to ride it until no more. A girl will miss that guy, hope he'll change, stay with him, etc., until its evident he's not for her, but may still think about it.

SO if you are a guy dating a gal out there, you better hope her 1st is a thousand miles away, or was a real jerk,
