The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has condemned the freezing of the accounts of Akwa Ibom State and its Buenue State counterpart by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.


Governor Yari said the commission lacks the constitutional powers to do so and should immediately reverse its position.

A statement by Governor Yari on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, stated that, “The freezing of any account of the state government whether Benue or anywhere is unconstitutional and is not right.
