My take on the housemates following Rheinmetal's lead: Code: Not in this game to win it. That’s for sure. Under the radar most of the time. There are days, I swear, I never saw him at all! He’s like Sammie but not with all the quirky things people hate about Sammie. He’s got a good radio voice though. Hannington: No one was more glad he left the house than homeboy Uti, cos dude was already making moves on Uti’s boyfriend, Sheila. I like how he’s settled into his own in the barn. Dude calls it as he sees it and that’s another thing you have to like about him. He’s got swag but he’s not an backside about it. Contrast that with Uti, who does not have it and acts like he’s all that. Hanny is my choice among the guys to win the money. Jennifer: Perhaps the youngest housemate, she, arguably, is also the most matured of the lot. Her looks might pass her off as mere eye candy, but these past 5 weeks, she's shown that she's more than just a pretty face. She may not be all over the place, but when she comes on camera, she is a delight to watch. She called out Sheila and her boyfriend, Uti last week when during a fight she rightly observed, you guys want to win an argument all the time; you make it impossible for others to make their points. Girl is always clean, can cook and doesn’t gossip. She displayed class when she politely turned down Jacob’s declaration of love and got his back when Uti and Co tried to mock him over it. She’s also one tough cookie. Notice how tenaciously she fought the day the other housemates tried to throw her into the Jacuzzi? Jen is my wild card choice among the females to win this show. The girl is the complete package whether haters admit it or not Kaone: Everyone’s favorite bushman! When he dons his bushman bikini, you can’t help but wonder if he was in the Gods must be crazy! He has stood up to Uti every time he tried to call him out. But he’s not playing this game like he wants to win the prize money. You wonder what exactly is the deal with constantly nominating Meryl. He says he doesn’t want her to have a big brother baby in the house. But guy, what’s your business with that? Your mind should be focused on the money. Lerato: Good voice, good accent and that’s where it ends. Physically, she looks like a keg of blubbering fat balanced on toothpicks. Made so much noise about how it’s on when Tatiana kicked her to the barn. But come D-day, home girl chickens out. If you are not going to follow through on a threat, then don’t make it in the first place. Meryl: The resident sex kitten. Love her or hate her, she’s confident in her own skin. The weakest link in the MNC. She’s however, the least disgusting of the females in that crew (i.e. Sheila, Uti and Lerato). Not even on the radar to win the prize money, but her one achievement is having snagged her own prize (Mwisho) already. Munya: The one everybody loves to hate. But you can’t deny it. Home boy’s got it going on! He’s smart, eloquent, funny, engaging and has swagger. Every thing Uti and his groupies wish he has. Naija may not want to admit it but Uti is not in his league. He came on to homeboy over the weekend to psyche him and boy did he run circles around dumb-backside Uti! I give him props for telling BB to eat a manliness. I have always wanted to tell BB that! You have to give him props on how he relates with other housemates even when it’s become pretty obvious that they see him as moving target. Sure he dropped the ball with his tiff with Jen, but hey, it can’t rain all the time! He completely owned the BB All star Radio task with his Honourable Minister and Dr. Love performances. You know Uti’s hateometer was shooting off the roof for this! Mwisho: One-time sure fire contender. First 2 weeks, this guy was the guy to beat. He had this whole mysterious guy thing going on! Then Meryl and booze happened. Ever since, he has become a slurring wannabe. He’s been sucked into the MNC vortex of gossip and paranoia. Loved his classic line “I am an engineer. I don’t burn bridges, I build them!” or something like that. Paloma: Self-proclaimed Mama Africa. I swear her trunk’s got a life of its own! Listen Paloma; if you sign up to do a BB show, you lose the right to claim any moral high ground. Notice the look on her face the day the strippers showed up at the party. Typical African hypocrisy. Few seconds after, home girl and her booty are on the dance floor digging it out, aggressive power style! Sammie: I liked this guy even when everybody thought he was boring. Then he got all touchy feely with the females in the barn and even I felt this was a little too much! Sheila: The brain box of the MNC. That crew wouldn’t exist without her. She does all the thinking and strategizing for them. She can talk the hind legs off a donkey! Don’t you ever shut up? Girl’s dirty and unkempt. No prizes on figuring that one out. All of Africa is in accord on that. She’s lazy and a gossip. Uti’s Naija groupies have somehow managed to imagine a romance brewing between her and homeboy. How wrong they are on that. This chick doesn’t have the slightest romantic inclination towards our boy. Fact is, Uti needs her more than she does him. She’s not the kind of friend you want watching your back. Notice how she egged on the blow out between Meryl and Yacob and how she abandoned homeboy to his grief the day he got the sad news from home? Tatiana: The femme fatale. She’s a natural-born flirt. People say it’s all an act to help her win. I’m convinced she’s like that in real life. She plays the game like she’s in it to win. Seems to need male company but she can just as well do without it if it really comes down to it. If she’d been left in the house, she is the person most likely to have split the MNC as she apparently is the only one amongst the others who knows exactly how to nominate to win Uti: The most over rated housemate and the most dependent. Can’t find his way without Sheila. He’s so stuck on her; you’d think he was an appendage on her skanky anatomy! Does not appear very bright even though he says he graduated top of his class. Dude is 28 but talks and acts like a 5 year old dropped on his head! I will show you I am from the Delta. Really dude, do you think you are in a primary school fight here? And what do you know about the Niger Delta? You are technically, not even from there! I bet you have not even witnessed a militants shoot out! Dude is scared shitless of Munya whether we admit it or not. We all know guys like Uti. Quite popular with the girls but the last person the girls will put out for! Dude believes his own hype. No woman has ever left me and not regretted it. Seriously dude, how many women have you dated? It says a lot about you when on the strap people refer to you a Sheila’s naughty woman. Sister Uti and her boyfriend Sheila We all know who’s wearing the trousers in that relationship! Yacob This guy is a total wimp. How do you go from the guy who took Uti on for calling you an Arab reject to a total wuss all in a matter of weeks? Grow some balls naughty woman! @ mac 73 or whatever your called if you are done, you can now leave the forum because you are on the wrong track no one here cares about ur opinion and take on the show we all watch it to or cant you see we are conducting an election on how to vote our own. @v24m, brova, take it easy with Mac73, he's just expressing his views @Mac73, you are behind enemy lines o! don't let Tartiana009 and the Sniper crew catch you at it Anywayz lovely analysis, you're definitely a Munya fan! Guess that's how you see things from that end of the spectrum. |

Keep on the good work guys we really need to work hand in hand to see that fool called Munya out of the house and straight to the barn, his arrogance is increasing by the day, if not for that, for telling Uti to his face that ‘That is why you left the 3rd week, during our season and I (Munya) had to stay all through to the finals’ as if that was not enough he had to nominate a whole nation kai’ insult upon injury. This is why each time Uti hears IK say ‘Munya ……, you are…….safe, he gets really frustrated, if for anything even if Uti does not win the competition, at least let Munya leave that house before he does, even before Uti leaves for his father’s burial. Let us try all we can, especially those of us that have the resources PLEASE, this Munya’s arrogance is just too much, if that guy does not leave this Sunday, I think I will stop watching the show and face other programmes on my Dstv bouquet. |

@Rheinmetal, I know i'm behind enemy lines I know everyone is too busy voting right now to rip my post apart. But I wish they would all just take a chill pill and not work themselves into a frenzy over nothing. In the end, it is only just a game. So, why not just enjoy it rather than burst your veins? By the way dude, I love your postings, always looking out for them. Kudos. Reason I like Munya, I find him entertaining and I kinda always root for the guy everybody seems to hate! |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Rheinmetal(m): 10:56am On Aug 26, 2010 |
^Alrighty brov, feel you on rooting for the underdog thingy, but is Munya really an underdog? he claims to be the "head that wears the crown" BTW, the peeps here are doing it for Naija, not the game or Uti. You've got to know what I'm on about, the enigmatic Naija nationalistic fervour. No one puts their fingers in our eye and gets away with it. However, I must agree that we are of one accord, to enjoy the game! And I can tell you that I do love your post as do a lot of peeps over here. They might not agree with it tho |

Rheinmetal: The MAC73 guy literally turned Munya into a Martyr. . wit his 'F' u weda u lik Munya or not, in yr face analysis some Naijas eeh smh Your analysis by d way,Rheinmetal, i can relate to.big ups |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Nobody: 11:13am On Aug 26, 2010 |
@ mac 73 your analysis was overly jaundiced, it takes precisely two seconds to know who you are rooting for and in your attempt to convince us of how useless Uti is, you made it all about him. Uti's name managed to come up under almost every housemate. You made the same mistake most of Uti's detractors make which is you made it all about him. |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by omohwunmmy: 11:32am On Aug 26, 2010 |
Uti is a long shot from winning. He probably knows it dats why he doesnt give a f* what anybody thinks. Munya is not next in line for d price either. Cant understand what people like in dat annoying mumu but then even Osama has its own followers. Abeg, abeg, abeg, abeg need to go spread sheila love! |

Mac73 u so carefully left out how ur boy insulted all his fans in africa and how disrespectful he has been of all females and their anatomy and focused on d short comings (as u see it) of uti and sheila. No yawa, uti will not win but we can assur u munya won't either! |

omohwunmmy:Take it easy now. Munya hasn't reached the level of Osama (internationally known and feared). He is still at the Mugabe level (local tyrant) Rheinmetal:I like his post too, considering that his analysis of almost all the housemates is viewed through his perspective of Uti . Those camera time stats you posted showing Uti leading are probably too low considering how he sees the show |

Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by mac73(m): 12:31pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
@ Tatiana009, You are spot on regarding my post. It was not so much an objective analysis as it was my very subjective take on the housemates, heavily influenced of course, by my personal preferences. I was not really trying to convince anyone to accept my perception of the housemates. Unlike some of you guys, I am unable to view the show from a nationalistic or patriotic perspective. I see it only as a form of entertainment. My patriotic cravings (if you can call it that) have been satisfied by the fact that in the house and indeed the rest of Africa where the show is beamed to, Naija music, the things Nollywood churns out as movies, and Naija celebrities are constantly given props to by all irrespective of their country of origin. If you think Munya insulted Africa by his comments, feel free to vote him out. That's your prerogative. But don't expect me to not like him. That's my prerogative. Personally, I think Uti's behaviour in the house is childish and reinforces(albeit wrongly) the notion other Africans have of Naija, but i recognise that some viewers find him entertaining and while I cannot understand that, I cannot begrudge them of their choice. We all have our different preferences and prejudices in how we view and relate to the housemates. Let's just recognise and respect these preferences and prejudices and enjoy the show for what it really is; just an entertainment show. At the end of the day, may the best housemate win. |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Rheinmetal(m): 12:38pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
@montelik, my bad! shld have given Uti 75% of the camera time, while the other housemates squabble over the remaining 25%. In any case I think Mac73 and I have disagreed to agree that Uti is the flashpoint of the show, he sees his contributions mainly in the negative, while I differ. The unspoken agreement however is that Uti is the most visible, recognisable, if you may, housemate. And in BB Kingdom visibility a.k.a camera time equals entertainment value to the show. |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Nobody: 12:51pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
Truth is controversy sells and from the amount of airtime Uti gets, the number of posts about him and biggy bending backwards to accommodate his going for the funeral, its obvious that homeboy is a valuable commodity to the show. I personally am proud of Uti for making such an impact in the house albeit he does over do the yabbing thing but he seems to be toning it down these days. He's faults have only been magnified because of his natural tendency to be in your face. Nigerians generally have a larger than life personality and Uti has been true to that. |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Nobody: 1:03pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
Mayhem on the thread. . .LOL I like mac73's write up, i kind of agree with it. It's all good sha, the strategy and all. I don't bother because i'm an advocate of 'what will be, will be'. |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by Rheinmetal(m): 1:05pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
@Mac73, I'm always at odds when a person's behaviour is said to reinforce or deemphasise a certain stereotype. That logic has no basis when you consider the uniqueness of every individual. I agree Uti's behaviour has been childish sometimes, but so has the other housemates in varied degrees. If Uti's forbidden sin is his percieved childishness, other housemates have their irritating habits too. Childishness is a trait that cuts across all borders and races. It is not a Nigerian factor. I recognise the Nigerian factors in Uti's behaviour, and childishness is not one of them. If Ofunneka, and Kevin with his recognisable humility and level headedness could not sway Africa's wrong and fool hardy notion of Naija, then why should any Nigerian housemate make correcting that notion his/her strategy while participating in BB. If anything, Uti is the victim of this notion of Naija, not its reinforcer or propagator. That wrong perception of Naija preceded Uti's participation in the show and would still remain long after he's gone. Cos the few Africans who have embraced that notion, needs to believe it to feel whole, and they prolly will never let go of it. |

Rheinmetal thank u for ur write up I was one of those who wasn't happy with uti d 1st time he had a fight with yacob and am still not happy when he runs his mouth uncontrollably. However am not going to sit by and let some small boi from some far away african country disrespect me and where I come from cos of distance!!! Like I said b4, yes uti will not win but munya must exit dat house 1st and he will not win either! Its on |
Re: Big Brother Africa 5 (the Official Thread) Is Here! by stankayy(m): 2:12pm On Aug 26, 2010 |
Guys, Munya has just asked for two things at his diary session, He said he wouldnt mind to be a viewer of the show and secondly he misses his girlfriend and son and WANTS to be with them. Its very simple, all we have to do is keep bombarding the voting lines in favour of Sheila. Munya will then go to the barn to be a viewer and bigbrother might just bring his girlfriend and son as visitors for him. That way, we will all have granted his wish. Lets continue voting Sheila and we're not just doing this for Uti and Nigeria as a whole but also for Munya. |

Hey guys, I'm definitely not one to sing praises of people, but man! you're giving me lots of cheer and laughs. Very interesting posts from Rhein and Mac73, tho I do not totally agree with Mac's submissions. If anything, Mumuyam must waka, cos of that annoying slip of calling the whole of Naija in his nomination. What an insult! @Tatiana, I feel you so much! Such passion. Such fervor! You must be given an award at the end of it all as the Master Voting Strategist. For real, you bring the naija flavor into this voting thingy, know what I mean @ Hail Naija, your choice of words is funny! You guys make my day, coming on here to read what's up, as I hardly watch BBA on TV. I tell you, you guys are awesome! Looking forward to mooooore. BTW, maybe it's me, but anytime I see Mumuyam, I always remember those fresh aboki recruits from Chad / Niger Rep. We've had a number of them n my house as mai-guard of recent |
