Paris Masters

Blake has to beat Federer to stand a chance of qualifying for the year-ending Masters Cup competition. Nalbandian too has an outside chance. Can he end the winning streak of the man of the moment, Murray?

Quarterfinal fixtures

Murray A. v Nalbandian D.
Nadal R. v Davydenko N.
Blake J. v Federer R.
Roddick A. v Tsonga J.

Can you predict the semi-finalists?
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by omotifire(m): 1:54pm On Oct 31, 2008
Sure they should be Ndal, Murray, Tsonga and Federrer
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by FOD(m): 4:13pm On Oct 31, 2008
David takes the first semi-final spot. He beat Murray 7-6, 6-3.

Up Next Davydenko vs. Nadal.

I expect Davydenko to prove his critics wrong.

Yeah! King Kong wins da Paribas Master n qualifies for Shanghai Masters.
Now i know there's gon be upsets in Shanghai.
Federer's gon ne an injury spill over effect cos he'll never be fully fit next week sunday,
my hero, Rafa's got a slight knock, but i trust he'll be ok.
Either way i'm rooting for Rafa or Tsonga(King Kong).
But Tsonga's got a long way to go to break into the top 5 spot if he keeps playing like this,
relyig on his strong serves to pick up ace points.
His left returns n reflexes r considerably lacking d x factor.
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by FOD(m): 7:29pm On Nov 03, 2008
Yea, congrats to Ali. I would ve preferred David though.

Going by their present form, next season is going to be tough. Del Potro, Simon, Gulbis, Tsonga and a host of others.

Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray, Davydenko, Roddick, Tsonga, Del Potro will be in Shanghai.

Another Shocking News:

World number one Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Masters Cup in Shanghai due to injury.

The Spaniard pulled out of the Paris Masters last week with a knee injury, and has taken the decision not to compete in the season-ending tournament in order to give himself the best chance of regaining fitness in time for the Davis Cup final in Argentina.

Nadal's place in Shanghai will be taken by Frenchman Gilles Simon, ranked ninth in the world

In the tournament's first match Vera Zvonareva enjoyed a 6-2 6-3 victory over Svetlana Kuznetsova as she handled the windy conditions in the Qatar capital better.
