The king of Grass, Federer plays the king of Clay, Nadal on a half grass half clay court on Wednesday. Who takes the bragging rights?

Nadal get the best of Federer again. He won the battle of the surfaces by beating Roger 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(12-10).

viee, i guess u should always follow ur heart cheesy
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by viee(f): 6:46pm On May 02, 2007

wow!

still at work but was browsing to see the result, didnt sad

glad u told me though!

how was the game

just wondering, mixture of glass and clay?

I didn't watch the match either. I just woke up only to the final result. I can't wait to see the rematch or highlights.

Though it's an exhibition match and Federer said before the match that it was just for fun but I feel that his confidence level has been greatly affected this year, considering the number of losses he's had already.

It was played in Nadal's home, Mallorca.
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by viee(f): 9:35am On May 03, 2007
i think so too.

the confidence part matters a lot in all thing abi?

loosing to Canas twice in a row, then Nadal?
he is a great player no doubt and the competition will make tennis more intresting

for me when u know that Goger will always win and other players are just hanging in till they meet Goger, it makes the game less fun

yesterdays game i feel had more exictment because the pendulum could have swung either way.

ya, Roger would have also said that he adapted nicely if he had won grin

he is still World No 1 and no one can challenge that at the moment, i hope the frequency of losng games dosnt get to and he starts getting nervous

he is a pro though so such is not likely

but then u can never tell

for me i love to see great tennis and great players putting pressure on each other

the women No 1, are u ok with Henin?
Serena is still not the top 10 cry

my friends said she might as well remain outside top ten so long as she keep winning grand slams undecided

for me, being No1 should also be the top target!

what do u think?
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by viee(f): 12:19pm On May 03, 2007
she is battling with injuries cry cry

i would have said it is a sad one for Kim but then she didnt sound enthusiatic about playing from onset
i think she lacked the fighting sprit and was exactly intrested in winning any way,

good one for Venus though, beaten another come back, Elena
who by the way is a very good player and is currently ranked 7

with the she is moving, Venus may get the something quite soon.

like them sistas grin grin grin grin grin grin
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by viee(f): 8:58am On May 07, 2007
wonder what it will take to get Venus back to what she use to be cry cry cry

More playing time, I guess.

Kim has finally decided to retire on Sunday (6 May 2007). I'm gonna miss those athletic skills of hers. sad
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by viee(f): 8:12am On May 09, 2007
ya

there is no hope of Kim even coming out of retirement at all!

she didnt even give her fans anything to cheer about this year!

ROGER AND TONY ROCHE END COACHING RELATIONSHIP

Roger and Tony Roche have mutually decided to end their 2 1/2 year long part time coaching arrangement. "I thank Tony very much for his efforts over these last years, during which I appreciated the 12-15 weeks per season we would work together. I am also grateful for the sacrifice he made, traveling so far from his home in Australia and leaving his family."

http://www.rogerfederer.com/en/rogers/news/newsdetail.cfm?uNewsID=550

The move leaves Federer without a coach two weeks before the May 27 start of the French Open, the only Grand Slam tournament he hasn't won.

Has Roger taken the right step?
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by doyin13(m): 10:59am On May 13, 2007
i think he is trying to recreate the situation a few years bck where he had no coach and was winning everything in sight. He seemed to play with an appealing abandon then, that maybe his coach has been tryin to refine.

Personally I don't like the idea of coaches after you are twenty.

i feel the same way too but Rafa wiil need to take his dominance on clay to grass too
may be i will hate him then for dominance on both grass and clay tongue

glad he won! wink
Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by profade1(m): 10:14am On May 14, 2007
Roger is not finished yet. Just that he's being demystified and humanised. I had a feeling he was starting to believe he was invincible and could beat anyone ( 'cept for Nadal) at will. This can only be good for the game, other players will know he can be beaten and will stop rolling over and playing dead just because they are playing Roger.

But i doubt if Nadal will have that same level of dominance, he's good granted but too many players have his number and can beat him on a good day.

He may not even win the french open.

Well the Wimbledon title goes to: Scot Jamie Murray, earning Britain their first Wimbledon title in 20 years.
Winning the mixed doubles trophy with Serbia's Jelena Jankovic. The pair beat fifth seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Alicia Molik 6-4 3-6 6-1.
