How Can You Know He Is Saying The Truth? by manina(f): 4:15pm On Jul 07, 2010 |
I have this Nigerian date on internet, he has made a lot of promises and says that he is a Christian and good man, we haven´t met yet and he wants me to travel to Nigeria to meet him, the thing is that I am afraid he might have some evil intention with me there, he sounds like a honest person but you can nver know, what should I do? |

@poster if it smells like fish then it probably is. follow your instinct and if you dont feel right about anything then dont go. let him prove to you that he is truthful by fulfilling one of his promises (or whatever he says) before you take his words for face value. its very easy to BS people online and, unfortunately, gullible people are falling easily for it. the fact that a stranger can just tell you that he is a good man and a christian for you to be ready to jump in a plane is a proof to that. you obviously know very little about this guy, you dont trust his words but yet considers going to visit the man?! what about taking your time to get to know him better before doing insane act?! |

Always follow your instinct, they are rarely wrong. If it's a lot to lose if it goes wrong - don't do it. Have you see pictures, spoken on the phone, gotten to know each other as much as possible without actually making physical contact first? |

What happened to him jumping on the plane and coming to meet you instead, better put your "heart" and your "money" back in their right places before you end up using the latter to fix the broken pieces of the former, you cant just trust anybody like that and its nt about whethr he's nigerian or not, you cnt just wholeheartedly believe someone you've nt seen, pple that have physically known each other for years still end up tearing themselves apart nt to talk of this raffle draw/lucky dip they call online dating, nonsense!,DONT GO ANYWHERE. |

Thanks a lot to all of you for all the quick replies. I have my own view about the situation but I wanted some other people´s opinion to be sure. And you are right, whether he is Nigerian or not, I can´t trust a person I haven´t even seen and take a place somewhere on earth to visit him without asking him to prove his love and promises. You have been very helpful. |

Sorry if we hurt you in someway but is not Naija men ,the thing is that men should take some first steps in a relationship, would you trust a person without even meeting face to face? Messages and calls are important but you can say a lie and no one can prove it otherwise, now loooking into a person´s eyes and seeing him act can give you a hint, that´s all I want from the man. |

What ever u decide, remember that some people are destined to meet their husbands online. Ego and pride has nothing to do with it. Nobi where Jane pick her ogbanje, Juan go pick her own |

He has been planning my trip and offered to pay for it, do you think he´ll be offended if I ask him to come first? |
Re: How Can You Know He Is Saying The Truth? by Kx: 3:58pm On Jul 08, 2010 |
Ujujoan: manina: Except he declines midway,I have never seen a yahoo scammer that will pay the bills of a suspected mugu.Never. Besides it might be easier for u to get a visa to nigeria than him getting a visa to ur base. |
Re: How Can You Know He Is Saying The Truth? by manina(f): 4:04pm On Jul 08, 2010 |
I do not know that meaning of scammer and mugu, but getting a visa for me could take a year or even more, would it be longer if he does it? I mean I even have to get a passport before getting a visa, have an invitation letter and many other requirements, I do not think it will take him more |
