I've read quite alot novels by many novelists but i've got a favourite novelist that spoils my brain, JAMES HARDLEY CHASE!! To you guys, who is your best novelist?

I never thought some one like Chase can be regarded as a serious novelist
Ever heard of William Saroyan?
The guy is awakening,(a curious way to describe novelist enh?)

Cyprian Ekwensi is the one for me.
Pa Ekwensi got published 10 years ahead of the celebrated Chinua Achebe and he has also written more novels and other books than other Nigerian novelists.

He is also the most realistic and comprehensive since he chronicled the different cultures of Nigeria in the East, West and North in his novels and children's books from the classic Jagua Nana to Drummer Boy.

Going on to 90 and he is still writing.

I am going to sponsor the Cyprian Ekwensi Prize in his honour.

SIDNEY SHELDON IS MY BEST,HIS NOVELS ARE JUST AWESOME AND THE STORY LINE,PHEW, ! U WILL NEVER STOP TILL U FINISH.

to me it is Michael Crinchton

this guy writes wonderfull scientific fiction.
he seems to write the kind of stuff i feal i love reading and writing.

some of his works are : JURASIC PARK
A CASE OF NEED.

forgotten the tittles of some but i know he has about 20 novels to his credit.

and hey, he is a trained medical doctor .

just love his works.

Well, i'd say Ted Dekker is my best but there are other novelists who get me thinking anytime i read their bit. The likes of michael Chrichton, Stephen King, Tom Clancy ,John Grisham and ofcourse our very own Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe.

Harold Robins - Pirates
John Grisham - The partner
James clavell -  Shogun ( massive book though)
Jackie Collins -  Lucky
Fredick Forsyth- The negotiator
Jefrey Archer - Kane and Abel , Not a penny not a penny less ( 2 in this case)
Steven King - The green mile
Sidney Sheldon - If tomorrow comes , Master of the game ( also 2 in his own case)
Robert Ludlum - The chancellor manuscript
Agatha Christy - The murder of Roger Akroyd,And then there were none and Murder on the orient express
James Hardly Chase - The vulture is a patient bird , Miss shunway waves a wand and The way the cookie crumbles ( I just had to go there for all the Hardly Chase afficionados)
but my personal favourite would be Micheal crichton who has written more than 5 of my favourite books/films
   Sphere,Jurassic park,Congo,Timeline and Rising sun.By the way you guyz should check out Congo and Sphere,very good films.

Sidney Sheldon is the one for me, anyday anytime. But if I considered how much I love Mario Puzo's FOOLS DIE, then I'll say he is the best despite the fac that I've only read one of his novels and seen the film The Godfather from his novel The Godfather. Who has read FOOLS DIE?

Tom Clancy, definitely, all the John Patrick Ryan series are very good, from sum of all fears to executive orders to clear and present danger to on and on and on,

Frederick Forsyth is also good, cant start naming,

Rober Ludlum is fair too

James Hadley chase is nt a serious writer,

Ian Flemming too is ok

Havent you guys heard of Joanne K. Rowling. Most writers have books which can be waved aside. She doesnt have any. All her books are MASTERPIECES . Is anyone refuting that?, Didnt think so!
