NLC/TUC STRIKE: TWITTER USERS REACT TO NATIONWIDE STRIKE
Following the Federal Government inability to negotiate and implement the New National Minimum Wage for Nigerian workers, the Organised Labour has decided to embark on a 7-day warning strike starting today, Thursday, September 27, 2018.

To this effect, the union has directed all members to ensure total compliance of the strike action.

Despite the directive from the NLC and their afiliates, the strike only took full effect in parts of the country. Reports on social media shows that only states like Kebbi, Bauchi, Abia, Edo and others fully complied while in the commercial capital Lagos, commercial activities went on as usual with some Lagosians complaining on Twitter that there is still heavy traffic in parts of the state. On the other hand, some bank workers commented that they have been directed by their management to stay home due to the strike. Additionally, schools were shut down and many government workers stayed home although many private businesses as well as petrol stations were opened.
