Good day people. Please how possible is it to add a non-family member in your application? I have an 8 month old baby and would love to travel with a Nanny. My step mum (my Dad’s wife) would have been my best bet. But they were not legally married so there’s no marriage certificate. Has anyone ever succeeded in applying for a Nanny while submitting their TRV? Abeg make una no laugh me o. Childcare cost in obodo oyibo no be here! |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by chibertha(f): 11:23am On Apr 07, 2019 |
If your mum has passed then you can mention her as your mum in your application. Then get your TRV first when you get there you apply for parents super Visa for her. That is what I would do But open to more and better opinions from gurus in the house. Luckymama: |

Please gurus in the house help me answer my questions because I have applied to the college I was ask to pay 158 Canadian dollar for the application to be processed after payment the admission letter will be sent within 48 hours and the money is going to be part of my school fees and if my visa is not granted the money is non refundable. So, I want to ask if the college is a good one and is it wise to pay such an amount of money. |

I have a first degree in electrical engineering since 2014, after which I went for nysc the following year 2015. Three years on since, I have been in the UAE working but in quite unrelated field to which I studied. I, in two attempts, couldn't get a masters admission in Canadian university with CGPA 3.4 Now I have admission in energy management for 1year graduate certificate, admission in electrical engineering control system for 3year advanced diploma, a fresh bachelors degree admission in Environmental engineering, and admission for a 2 year advanced diploma fast tract in energy system engineering. All admissions for Fall 2019. Please, good people, I need advice on which one to follow for best study permit/visa chance considering my odd job and study gap. I want to apply from UAE. I got no wife, kid or business firm and am self sponsored. My budget can comfortably take the 1year and two year programs. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Qudkom(m): 1:36pm On Apr 07, 2019 |
Felagot: Hello, all the programs listed show reasonable progression. My advice for you will be: 1. If you have enough funds with you get a GIC (Guaranteed investment certificate) from one of the Canadian banks to pay in your living expenses for 12months. 2. I will advice you go for the 2-year Advanced diploma program. 3. Pay your tuition deposit for a semester. 4. Write a convincing SOP. 5. Lastly, you didn't mention your current job and work experience. 6. Study gap doesn't mean anything(You definitely haven't been idle this past years). Regarding the self sponsor I'll advice you get a co-sponsor. P.s: what's the unrelated field you've been working? 1 Like |

IbikunleBukky:quote author=IbikunleBukky post=77321867]ADDITION: SHE ADDED HER WORK EXPERIENCE RELATING TO THE COURSE IN THE SOP.[/quote] This application only needs Luck and pray to scale through because if anybody other than a VO can sense insincerity(even if its a costly mistake), the VO can as well feel the same. For the applicant ticking NO regards to a work experience and also answering YES in the SOP is very contradictory, this VOs don't play with simple facts especially if its primary. I would have advise you to send the letter via email or CSE if the PA hasn't ticked NO but the suggestion is this whilst the decision is yours: 1. Raise a new questionnaire form and tick YES and then attached the reference letter. The body of the message should explain a detailed human flaw/articulating on the asked question, and the steps taken to such rectification. 2. Allow the outcome to play out |

Qudkom: Your points are always valid but in addition to the bolded, it can be done whether or not CIC request for it. "Theoretically," on the CIC website, your facts sticks and "practically," my assertion sticks. its just a contribution. Respect! 1 Like |

Silin: I don't know about the payment but why are you writing a PTE exam? if its for immigration or academic purpose, IELTS(most recommended) or TOEFL is the most recognized and acceptable especially by the VOs. BTW you don't need a Language testing exam to apply for a study permit except you have other backup plan(s). |

@Cappymayor @chibertha @yacha77. You are right about the GIC. It is meant for some designated countries like india. The reason I recommended it was because I thought since you guys have temporary residence status in other countries (Sweden UAE) I thought it could be applied. On the contrary you can set aside the living expense in a savings/fixed deposit if you have the means. I believe based on the fact that you want to sponsor yourself that will be a good wqy to proove your financial buoyancy. Dont forgot to also get a Co sponsor. In addition, A GIC Certificate is matter of fact the best way to show your financial capability to sponsor yourself in Canada. Those Asian students are really fortunate no need for scanning heavy statement of accounts or property. Just pay 10kCAD into a GIC account in a bank in Canada and you will be entitled to 800CAD every month for 12 months. This serves as living expense. By the grace of God will get there one day. 1 Like |

Kenny4real68: Foremost, is the M.sc program related to your previous studies/work experience/neutral field? If YES for column 1& 2, then on point but if YES for column 3, then the SOP needs to do a convincing explanation. To your question, its not of utmost necessity to give that account as it won't cause or create any problem, as it's simply a decision of choice. |
