Timothyphillips: Good day to the Gurus in the house: Please can someone break this down : A guy (36yrs) planning on going for masters (had his Bsc 10yrs ago) but 8years work experience and single and no strong home ties per se....also thinking of using his personal savings account and RSA to apply.... Would this scale through? Thanks to everybody Age as nothing to do with this what is important are your home ties, financial vibrancy and a solid reason to apply for the study visa. Also establishing a time line for what you've been doing since you graduated is important. Lastly, a there should be a link between your last qualification, work experience and intended program. 2 Likes |

sillysassysally: TRV processing time update 09/04/2019
We now have a sample of 34 hopefuls!
I would encourage those that have applied this year to share their timeline (with details such as; Application Route, whether you're a new or re-applicant, School Resumption Date, Application Date, Biometrics Request Date, Biometrics Done Date, Medical Request, Medicals Done, Medicals Passed, PPR or the Current Status of your application). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it. This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. (Please note that the calculated estimates are just averages based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average)
For those that have already submitted their timeline, kindly share if you are a new applicant or a re-applicant. Also, please share when you are expected to resume school. This would help us understand if there is a relationship between processing time and resumption date. (Cc Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Dolapok, Oni2019, docsaj, Klem28, Ancy 26, Trishaben, Omarzx, ify85, umulobi, Iykedpetes)
Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data or if there is a better way you think I can present the data, I am always open to suggestions. The dolapok applicant wasn't upfront medical it was requested. |

Employment verification is done at random. The chances are very slim. However all they need is the authenticity and not your relationship with your past employees. |

johnsonsegxy: This month i can see up to 5 good testimonies for study permit VISA!!! Yeah i have that feeling some people are gonna smile real big... Don't lose up, don't give up on God yet cos he never give up on you..
And thanks to those sparing their time to give valuable infos.. God bless u and do also remember the documents that Mr. A uses in getting the Visa might not help Mr. B in getting it but i urge u to work on your documents very well, cross check everything one by one and ask yourself some questions like if i am the VO handling this documents what and what can i thick down that might cause rejections for this application? that's how they do it too, they analyze your documents one by one and give u mark one by one base on your documents (the ones they're aint convinced enough with you lose mark on it so on and so forth) but lastly pray for Grace and favor since it is human being working on your documents and not computer anything is possible
I wish you a new fruitful month full of great testimonies...
Stay blessed!!! Long time guys! How many testimonies now?? 1 Like |

Damolaay: Hello my good people, Can i use my salary account statement instead of payslip? because I don't seems to get the pay slip complete? Payslips are secondary, employment letter will do. Though salary account, pension, tax clearance certificate is a huge plus if you have them. But not compulsory. You can also attach your id card. So basically: 1. EMPLOYMENT LETTER 2. ID CARD 3. SALARY ACCOUNT* 4. PAY SLIPS* 5. TAX CLEARANCE* 6. PENSION, etc... I have even seen some that attach the cac certificate of the company they work but that's definitely a far reach. |

Ancy12: Hello everyone am new here.... I applied for study permit 26th of Feb and did my biometric same day paper route. Today 8th April got a refusal to my application Document summited Am sponsoring my self SOA Admission letter Application form Family form Common law union Joint account with my fiancee Land property own by me and my fiancee My previous employment letter Present employment letter LOE Police certificate
I study marine engineering and I have my license as a 3rd Engr and currently working as a second Engr. I applied to study Rov pilot technician program in Canada at memorial university Newfoundland. Reason for refusal *not satisfied that I will leave Canada base on my purpose of visit. *not satisfied that I will leave Canada Base on family ties... Plz I need help I want to reapply pls I need help. Thanks There are certain subtle things/requirements that might have conspired with the reasonableness of the VO which are more demanding when compared to the listed documents like: 1. The level of your intended studies and its correlation, and how well was it explained or convincingly connected in terms of no course relation/marketing the future benefits/importance of the course if it relates. 2. As a self sponsored, how expensive is the tuition fees and how's it been funded, will your source of income be threatened - "some folks might want to say financial capability/capacity has nothing to do with Purpose of Visit but yeah, it sure does." 3. As a self sponsored, what was the strength of your SOA like: strong, fairly strong, fair. How did you show the financial reasonableness in regards to your tuition fees and living expenses. 4. How good is your salary and how reliable is job. 5. Why did you opt for self sponsorship and how constructive was your LOE in general terms. 6. Apart from your landed properties, what else served as your home ties - fiancée! Was there any evidence shown for the common law or an intend marriage. How did you present your home ties in general terms. This questions are all based on assumptions but might not necessarily be far from the concerns raised by the VO, which might assist every knowledgeable folks on this fora in doling out suggestions that would hint as a guided direction in your reapplication. BTW request for your gcms notes to get a more accurate insight(s) that addressed the VO concerns 1 Like |

Gunit87: Please I have a question, if one get pregnant after application, and medical was requested, (1)will the medical reflect the pregnancy? (2). Will this affect the application? (3). Any hindrances at POE because of the pregnancy?? Please Guru in the house advise! 1. Yes, the panel physician would indicate it in their notes. Please don't conceal the pregnancy. 2.No, it would not. Its not your fault, at least that's part of the most expected in marriage if not life, just do the needful of been able to cater for yourself and the foetus like when the baby comes, financially without bothering the govt. You will be needing a nanny/daycare too. 3. Certainly not. Just make sure you've made provisions for the unborn baby and general healthcare requirements for two. This would able you be prepared just "in case" you is been asked about your pre-steps for your unborn baby. 1 Like |

I'll appreciate immediate replies. Thanks in anticipation Who's your sponsor to you and outside the payment of your tuition fees, is your living expenses part of the 7m in your sponsor's SOA. Everything seem right, but they feel I won't return here when I got a hundred and one things to achieve here. @frankrobbn1 @jnyuwa @naijaforeigner and my other brothers kindly advise. Be as convincing as it could be in explaining why you opt to study such course in Canada than in Nigeria - what comes with it, and buildup a strong compelling home ties. Let your SOP/LOE be constructively insightful and there would be no need changing your course. Work on these three things: 1. your course of study 2. Home ties 3. SOP/LOE 2 Likes |

ILoveDLord: No I didn't get a supervisor.
My MSc is not thesis based, but course based. Per information from MUN, course based MSc is not eligible for university funding. I didn't want to go through the stress of seeking for university funding, even though I think I may have been qualified for it.
Also I wanted a programme that is fast track, shorter duration compared to a thesis based programme
So if you want funding from the university you will have to apply for a thesis based MSc or if you are going PhD you are eligible for funding too.
But one can still apply for scholarships from other sources once the program commences.
Congrats on your VISA approval. I sent you an email already....kindly revert. |

My brother every course is cheaper in Nigeria compared to the western world guzenaira:
The Lord of mercy will show you mercy, I don’t like asking pple to show their timeline or profile of what they submitted only if I didn’t see it in their previous post.
I checked your Previous posts and I could see all you submitted which some pple didn’t do up to that but got it.
I believe you will agree with me that some VOs just want to use their human nature to stand in pples way.
If UK ask for 10 things and you give them, your visa will be granted but if Canada ask for 10 things and you give them 15 that doesn’t mean they will still give you the visa.
All said, from my view of your case file you uploaded, I believe you need to convince the VO about your course of study because sincerely it’s cheaper in Nigeria than in Canada based on the stupid VOs extensive search about the course.
But just try and convince the next VO and lock his or her heart with the word of God if you believe in it for your next application.
Who knows, the next VOs heart may be arrested by the word of God. 1 Like 1 Share |

Thanks IFY I get you clearly. Appreciate your kind response. ify85:
Sorry I omitted one of your questions. They will know during your medical. In case your stomach doesn't show you're pregnant please ensure you tell them during your medical because they will know. Remember they will screen your blood and urine and you will be exposed to x-ray. If you don't tell them you're pregnant they will not use protective shield on you and that will affect the foetus. And if they discover you lied they might report your case to the embassy. As for fund you don't need additional fund now because u haven't given birth. |
