I am full of thanks, Adrian; I am full of thanks and love, Pisky. Aren't you special? You started the fourteenth thread, and now you have started the fifteenth thread. In fact, your employment with NLNG is settled already. You are there ASAP. Amen. Adrian, I am glad for your story. You say you are a lwayer. Lawyers are known to dread mathematics, but you passed both the first and second tests with all their math requirements. And you are a lawyer, and ALL organizations need lawyers; and let me tell you, there are certainly VERY FEW lawyers still in the game. I do not think there was even one lawyer on the 4th of July. 80% of the people there were engineers, the other 20% were business and accounting graduates. So, I must say that you stand a VERY VERY VERY good chance of getting into NLNG. In fact, Adrian, OPEN YOUR HANDS AND ACCEPT THIS PROPHESY INTO YOUR LIFE NOW: ADRIAN, LAWYER AND MAN OF GOD AND NLNG HOPEFUL. HEAR THE VOICE OF YAHWEH TODAY THE 15TH DAY OF JULY, 2007. THUS SAYS YAHWEH: YOU, ADRIAN, ARE CHOSEN TO WORK IN THE NIGERIA LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS COMPANY. YOU SHALL GET YOUR EMPLOYMENT LETTER BY SEPTEMBER, AND YOU SHALL BE PROSPEROUS AND VERY HAPPY; AND YOU SHALL SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY ON NAIRALAND.COM. FOR I AM YAHWEH, SUPREME ABOVE ALL; I HAVE SPOKEN. NO ENTITY CAN CHANGE IT. AMEN. Adrian, it is God Himself that has spoken to you. Do not doubt. You shall certainly work in NLNG. Alleluia! And when you get your employment letter, do not forget us on Nairaland. Because, you CERTAINLY will get that employment letter. As you face the interview, go with confidence recalling that NLNG needs you, Adrian; NLNG needs you!. I want to also thank all of you that have been posting on this thread. I pray for you in my daily rosay. You must know I say a DAILY rosary for the NLNG struggle. yYesterday, I called Adrian ('Drian, I liked the way your voice sounded over the phone; it reminded me of my best friend's, Jude's, voice); shortly after our conversation over the phone, I picked up my rosary. Since it was Saturday, I knew I was to say the Glorious Mysteries. So I began thus: 'Come O Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of the Faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the Earth. Prayer: O God, who taught the hearts of the Faithful by the Light of the Holy Spirit; grant by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be truly wise, and ever rejoice in His Consolation, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.' Then, crossing my lips, I entoned: 'You O lord will open our lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise; incline unto our aid, O God; O lord make haste to help us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.' Then I paused for the INtention. I said, 'I am saying this rosary for our success at NLNG; Father, I am remebering both those who asked me to pray for them and those that did not. In particular I pray for Adrian who has asked me to pray for Him; that you grant him success in his NLNG race; I also pray for @jbyno; for @pisky, @jenks, and all the other NLNG Hopefuls, especially those that regularly post on our thread; and for myself, your humble servant too; may Your will be done in all our lives. Amen. Then I placed my hand on the crucifix and began: I believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, ' And I said the rosary to the end, recalling the five mysteries: Ressurection, Ascension; Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles; Assumption, and Coronation of the BVM. Today, in keeping with my tradition too, I shall say the five Mysteries of Light. Alleluia! Aluta continua, victoria acerta! |

Before I go back to the house today to rest - but of course I will here tomorrow to encourage everyone and myself - I want to tell all of you that we must be especially strong during this period. Someone was asking me if the NLNG paid for my taxi fare from Festac to the venue. They did not ask if I used a taxi in the first place. Using a taxi was strictly my choice. I was dressed in a fine suit and I did not want struggling for bust to crumple it. Besides, I could afford using a taxi, and again it was not something I was to do everyday. And, I wanted to be early, and to arrive the centre without being hassled. At the end of the exercise they simply gave me the money they felt like, as I had anyway come from Kano in the first place. Feel me? So go there however you like, taxi or not. Anyway, like I was saying, this is a period when we must learn to be strong for ourselves and our loved ones. Our loved ones are those that want us to get this job. Especially for the guys, your loved ones include that babe thathas been dying for you and who will see your getting this job as a stepping stone to her being married o n time @jbyno, am I talking to you here? Adrian, you nko? Especially now that Yahweh has already given you this job? If I were you , I would start now celebrating and doing that significant other shakara olooje. But strength will also mean that we have to keep posting on this thread, especially to confront the ethers within. Those ethers that inspire pessimism. And pessimism is something we do NOT need. God bless you all. One love! |

hi guys what more can i say if God did not spare his son to save the world,it is really a bit of an assignment to think of that one thing he would withold from us if we believe,God is still in the business of making his children happy, it is well. we would make it if we believe, fine we have our fears but you know what ,Fear is actually false evidence appearing real.keep the thread ,keep hope alive and bubble on with your faith intact.shalom |

Each time I look at this thread I know I am not alone in this hour of expectation and as it is we are all pregnant and come the 9th month of the year we shall give birth to the great news of the NLNG employment. Pls guys Just a few questions 1, which session was the most challenging. 2, Did they collect any thing as in CV from anybody. 3, What do you guys think about the CBI. One love all we shall get it. |
Re: Which Way Nlng? by tblack3: 9:42am On Jul 16, 2007 |
@ seat 1,Ehido,to me i guess the group discussion was challenging, cos u have to try and contribute and also demostrate team spirit, the CBI is just trying to test your team work ability, Cv was not collected, Kwuena u mentioned something about 80% engineers and 20% social sciences, what of sciences??, i guess we should say about 70% engineers,20% social sciences and 10% sciences, though am not a mathematician, but there are defiantely more engineers in the fold, I still remain t-black @ seat 1,to all you guys that have not done all the best, this is the last week though, guess 20th July, For us that have done, we are just gonna keep thanking God for what He has started in Us that he has perfected, one love buddies |

Hey people! Sorry for not posting for a while now (3-4days). Just like kuwena said, i think we shuld continue to post words of encouragement as we are already doin! @pisky, sorry o! i did not say dat NLNG was collectin 3 a day; i was just reactin to wat some1 posted. sorry for the misinformation! i even think u are right in that there are set criteria, which if scaled, secures ur employment. By d way, wishin u success in ur own assessment. just stay calm n relaxed. @kuwena, i got ur txt; u r right, we shuld post everyday or weneva we get d opportunity to. @ehido, just like t-black said, i think d group stage was d most challengin cos of all it invovles, since u are expected to contribute reasonably, show team spirit and ethic and so on. @sequioa, how u dey? and finally @kuwena, wen did u find out dat it will be 80% engineers? this is d last week of the assessment, and den d long wait(1-2months) wuld begin! not to worry, we'll c it through to the end and have a gud laugh after it all (propably wen cashin d first cheque). |

It seems the number of Engineers that did this test is not much, If U are an engineer pls signify, I am one. About my sit position ,I have been thinking should I pick 13 because my interview was on the 13th or should I pick 30 cos I was born on the 30th or should I pick 9 Cause it seems to be a good number for me, U see I have a lot of slots to pick from isnt it wonderful. Well let me take one and free the rest I think I will go with 30 yes 30 is it cos I will just coast along with a good view of everybody. |
Re: Which Way Nlng? by kuwena(m): 4:11pm On Jul 16, 2007 |
I like the spirit of the thread. @sequoia, I think I remember you clearly now. Yes, yes; thank you for reminding me. You were the one I sat with (together with one Zenith guy, and another Zenith Civil Engineer guy that had a laptop and entertains and stuff) and we were talking about the stress of living in Lagos, ko? And it was there I gave an example of how in primary school I had not done an exam, but still passed. Then, after a while when we changed seats, you came along, and jointly we listened to the NLNG officials brief us. Secondly, I was simply supposing when I said there would be 80% engineers. It is an opinion and not a fact. @jbyno, I hope you are not scared? And yes, @sequoia, we are to be busy with what our hands find to do. I guess this means we should value the jobs we already have? The point is taken, and well taken too. I am so very happy you guys are posting on the thread. I am so relieved, too! Thanks everyone. |

Patience is a virtue no doubt. I pray to God to give it to all of us. September is not too far (especially when you have something doing). We also pray for wisdom. Good luck to all those who are yet to face NLNG this third and last time. God be with you all. See you all tomorrow. |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by Sequoia(m): 1:39pm On Jul 17, 2007 |
@jbyno, im doing good. sure u had a nice trip to abuja. @all others, why disturb urself that more engineers would be chosen than others. after coming this far, methinks that we should have gone beyond all that. from 18,000 applicants to maybe 480. lets all beleive taht what god wills will be, and letss hope for the best. sometime ago, many were wondering the fate of peeps still serving. what has come of it? the results of the interviews would be coming about a month after they would have completed youth service. see the way things sort themselves out, eventually, so why worry when u can do more important and productive things. its well, much luv |
Re: Which Way Nlng? by kuwena(m): 3:06pm On Jul 17, 2007 |
The secret of success is faith. It's what I always say. Faith. When I talk like this about faith, people wonder if I am over flogging a dead horse. The horse, however, is not dead; it is only sleeping. Like was Jairus' daughter. Many of you must recall the story of Jairus' daughter. Jesus had just healed a woman with an issue of blood. Then there came this fellow, Jairus, to implore him to come quickly, that his daughter was almost dead. Jesus at once went with him. As they were nearing the man's house, certain individuals came up from within the town to tell him, 'Jairus, there is no need to trouble the Master anylonger; your daughter is dead already. But Jesus said to him: 'Do not doubt; just believe.' And they went on. As soon as they reached the house, Jesus saw the people weeping and making a commotion. He said to them, 'Do not weep; the child is not dead, but only asleep,' at which they laughed and scoffed at him. Jesus then had to make them leave. Then going with Jairus and his wife and three of his own disciples, Jesus entered the little girl's room. She ordinarily was dead. But Jesus took her by the hand and said: 'Talitha kum.' This means: 'Little girl, I tell you to get up.' My bible tells me that at once the girl rose and was attended to by her parents, who gave her both food and drink, following the command of Jesus. The thread on which we post everyday - this thread - is a symbol of our faith. We are consciously fighting the ethers that inspire pessimism. We are saying to those doubtful thoughts within to halt, to be still and to know that God alone is God. It is what we believe. And we believe it with all our hearts. We all want to work in NLNG; we want it because we see it - many of us do - as an opportunity to serve our country in a meaningful way; not that we would mind the financial and other trappings anyway. But we all know that good things do not come easy, and that they take a geat deal of spiritual actualization. We need God in moments like this. We need him everyday, of course, but we especially need him now. Let me here give an overview of the NLNG race, to show how far we have come. Of course this is not at all news to many of us; I mean, we were there from the beginning; but for those who wish to see it as a recollection of the sweet and sour, of all that God has done for us in our struggle to reach where we are today, we cannot but rejoice at the history making NLNG struggle; and this thread only makes the realization all the merrier, as we await our receipt of employment letters. For those who have finished the Assessment, we hope; for those that are to have theirs for the rest of the week, we help them to anticipate; we can imagine a little what they must be feeling now; those demons of doubt; we understand what they must be feeding them with even now; feelings of pessimism; feelings of self-debasement and all what not. Perhaps we can help them to recall that the battle is not theirs. The battle is the Lord's. So let us keep pushing, in faith. But not just in faith; let us have love as well. Love for one another. ‘Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God and anyone that loves is born of God and knows God; he that loves not knows not God for God is love. Beloved, let us love one another’ (1 John 4 vs 7 & . Let us get on with the overview: 1. The Application: How did the NLNG race begin? As I recall it, I was at home one day when a cousin of mine, Uzoma, called me; she told me that she had recently seen an advert in the Guardian of the 3rd of October for NLNG. She encouraged me to apply. So, as quickly as possible, I went to find the edition, and subsequently applied. Then I waited. But I did not keep the knowledge to myself. I told many of my friends to apply, and they all did. That was in October, 2006. That was when the journey began, and a few days afterwards, I celebrated my anniversary. We continued to wait. Some of us even began to forget that we had applied for any such thing as NLNG; maybe a few forgot that NLNG even existed. Then, sometime in late February, we got letters; by this time a few had begun to receive calls from NLNG; the letters were to invite us all – about 18,000 (eighteen thousand) of us – to come and write the first aptitude test. The NLNG people wanted to make it easy for us, and so they asked us to write the test at the centre closest to the address on the curriculum vitae that we had sent to them. So I wrote mine in Zaria, at Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic. I got there a little late that day, and wrote in the second batch. It was a relatively cheap test (compared to the second one that was still to come); and three weeks later, they called to tell us of the outcome. I had passed. About 5,000 of the 18,000 had passed. Glory to God! We were asked to come for a second test on the 27th of March, this time aroud the centres were fewer, and I wrote mine in Abuja, at the International Conference Centre (ICC), a place I had visited earlier to attend the Third African Film Festival (BOBTV 2006). The exam was to last four hours supposedly. There were four papers: Verbal Reasoning; Personnel Battery; Quantitative Reasoning, and something about correction of sentences (I cannot recall the actual name of that paper). After the Verbal and the Personnel Battery, the second of which I did not finish, I felt I had to invite God. There was a short break, and I dialled my younger brother, Chima’s number. I said, ‘Chima, na wa-o! This thing get as e be-o! Where you dey?’ He told me he was in school. I said, ‘Look, find a chapel quickly and enter it. Then help me say a rosary.’ He promised to do so (and he did). So, with Chima back at Owerri saying the rosary, we went in for the next two papers: Quantitative and sentence correction stuff. All of a sudden, it was as if the Holy Spirit took my hands and began to write the tests for me so much so that, for the Quantitative I successfully did 30 out of 35, and finished the entire 50 questions of the sentence correction stuff in the 10 minutes allotted. How happy I was! It was some days after this test that this thread, Which Way NLNG? began. Precisely on the 8th of April. 2. Page One of Which Way NLNG?: The first page began with my post: ‘This is reaching out to fellow Landers whose hearts are beating expectantly for NLNG. No wa - God dey. Is it to be a 3rd test or a 1st interview? An NLNG guy at my centre said that if the number of those that pass the just-concluded second test is great, there will be a third; if not, we move straight to interviews. Please post words of encouragement on this thread to all NLNG hopefuls. If you post here, we will see you at the training school. Na prayer be that. One love!’ Subsequent to this post, others started posting. That first page contained the posts of optimistic NLNG Hopefuls who wanted so badly to believe they were in already. The first page also gave insight on what we were to expect at the next stage which was jointly believed to be an Assessment Centre. People gave varying views on what an Assessment Centre was, and threw light on its procedure and composition. 3. Page Two of Which Way NLNG?: The second page began with this post from @ademec: ‘you are great for this wonderful job ure doing.don't worry we'll make it.’ He set the stage for more contributions as to what we were going to expect, and hopeful exuberances that God was going to see us all through. With this post, I encouraged us – as I still am – to continue posting on the thread: ‘And please, show that you are interested in keeping this hope alive by always posting words of encouragement to all NLNG hopefuls all over Nigeria. God bless y'all!’ The thread continued to grow and grow and grow. It subsequently entered the third page on April 25th, with a post by me, lamenting that the whole thing was dragging on past the 4th week. Other people who posted on that third page also rued the development. Some had been told we would be contacted in 3 weeks; some said it was to be 6 weeks, and not three at all. However, we continued to wait, as we are doing now. 4. Page Four of Which Way NLNG?: As page three was closing, certain individuals began to be spiteful; we wondered whence the bitterness, and each cautioned his neighbour. I wondered if our thread was coming to an end. But thanks to the likes of @sweetjoy, we were able to get passed that brouhaha and get on. We kept on posting happily. This was what @beaty said: ‘The negative energy in the house is overwhelming and it definately needs to be abated. Anyway guys, i think i know wats up with them calls. Those who have been called did well in the test but there is no documentary evidence to verify their performance i.e copies of certificates etc. Therefore NLNG is calling them to check their emails which contains a request for them to send copies of their certificates. It is possible that the certificates were not attached at all or have been misplaced. So to those who have been called to check their emails but have found no mail, it will do you alot of good to get NLNG's HR email address from someone who has it, and just send your certificates to them. NLNG therefore is in the process of verification of certificates of sucessful and shortlisted candidates for the interview. To those of us who have not called, let us brace ourselves as there is nothing to worry about. Our documents/certificates are intact. Conclusively, we should start expecting our letters by God's Grace as from next week monday(exactly 6 weeks from the commencement of the 2nd test). Fellow landers, do not despair but celebrate God and the wonderful opportunity he has given us. I hope I have helped unravel the NLNG call mystery.’ Whether or not she had solved the mystery, we decided to put all the negativity behind us and move on, to the 5th page. 5. Page Five of Which Way NLNG?: Page four also closed with our trying to find out if the test was hard. Was the test really hard? A test where you were to answer a world of questions in a room of time! By Page 5, it was already seven weeks after writing the test. The frustration was clear. I posted this: ‘Peppy, I thank you. I also sympathize with all those brooding over the delay in the release of NLNG resuts. Tuesday next week will make it exactly seven weeks since I wrote my test in Abuja. Their proverbial two weeks has not elapsed. It was two weeks remaining three weeks ago, and it was still two weeks remaining the last time I checked. What is going on! I am agitated.’ But as God would have it, it was also by page 5 that news started filtering in that certain people had contacted NLNG and had been told their results. Uleh_J was the first to report on nairaland.com that he had passed. He posted this on page five. I was apprehensive and refused to call at first. I posted this: ‘My people, I greet you all. The wait is coming to an end. The Almighty NLNG has started inviting people. Did you pass or did you fail? You will soon know. In fact, you will know by next week. I sigh. We have come a long way. Particularly, I rejoice with @uleh_j, who was successful at the second test and will now go forward to the next stage. I equally commiserate with the likes of @origga, who said she was not called. To tell you the truth, I do not know if I was called or not, because I have not yet summoned the courage to call them, and I am resolved not to call them yet. I must say to those who were not called: Your future is still colourful, and I believe you will still make it in life; NLNG or no NLNG. If I call eventually and I am told I did not make it, this is the attitude I will have to adopt. I cannot kill myself, or can I? But for those who are successful, I rejoice with you. Begin now to imagine yourself in NLNG. Let me here share a story: When I was in my second year at the university, I applied for the prestigious Chevron Scholarship. At that time I was under serious financial pressure, and it seemed as if my future depended on my getting that scholarship. It was really like a do-or-die affair. So I prayed and committed it to the hands of GOD. On the day I wrote the test at PH, it was with the hot heads of all the universities in Nigeria. I was reading Mass Communication. But I did not let it bug me. The papers were four: two resembled Maths, and two resembled English. Of those that resembled Maths, I did not finish either; of both that resembled English, I did; but I wondered if I was going to pass. I waited - we all waited, hoping and praying. On October 8, 2004 I got wind in the papers that I had passed at 6th position in all of Nigeria. Your story will supersede mine, if only you believe. I love you all!’ But his report made many of us begin to call NLNG. I called to, and was told I passed. Subsequently, then, I posted thus: ‘I don pass-o! Uleh_J was right. I called NLNG, told them my state of origin and examination number, and I was told that I passed. At last. Help me thank God! He is faithful, and His mercies endure forever.’ Others too began to call, though it was sad that many did not pass. We lost @sweetjoy in the struggle. But we pushed on in spite of our fallen heroes. We trusted. We loved. We believed. It was not over. Their futures were still colourful, and we told them so. 6. Pages Six, Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten of Which Way NLNG?: By page six, people claimed to have started receiving letters from NLNG to the effect that they were to resume Assessment from the 25th of June. @izi-n-bizi was the first to post. Then people like @sequoia and @jbyno posted in similar strain. There was also a national strike at this time, and we prayed fervently that it would not make the Assessment no longer hold. As at this time, I had not received any letter from NLNG, and was pretty worried. I had gone to FEDEX to ask, and they had received nothing. By page nine, people had started suffering from ‘kuwenatitis’. How sad. It was my anxiety affecting everyone. How how sad. I was really anxious. I posted this: ‘Wallahi, I have been thinking seriously of calling them, but I have been broke. Maybe I will call them before the end of the month, when I would no longer be. I think I agree with @pisky; those that have been called - like I have - have their letters in transit. More letters can be expected this week. Indeed, I prophesy that by the end of this week a lot more would have got their letters pronto. The wait has been long, but I think the hand of God is in this, and the Enemy will not be able to defeat our cause. Can't you see, just as Monday was coming for the interviews to begin, they called off the strike! I dare say that some people are in Lagos this very minute doing theirs. Let us pray for them. Above all, let us recall: 'E don sign am say we go make am; Baba God don sign am say we go do am-o; na wa destiny, make them no think am!' Amen.’ People began to send me, and through me, others the scanned copies of NLNG’s letter to them. They were like saying: ‘Kuwena, your letter will look like this when it comes.’ But by page ten, I, Jalo, Jbyno and a few others had got their letters. How? In my case I got it posted directly to my address by FEDEX, and was called on phone to come and pick it, by the fellow who received it on my behalf, a certain friend called Osmund. I was overjoyed. We all were. 7. Pages Eleven & Twelve of Which Way NLNG?: We began to prepare for travel. @jbyno and I had been invited on the same day (we actually met at Lagos); there were questions on the mode of appropriate dressing for the event, and it was universally agreed that we were to turn up in our suits. I also started to get ready physically and metally; reading all I could find on NLNG and getting myself as well materially prepared. @kizoic told us all to be calm, to wait and pray and not be frazzled; he had recently done his. News also filtered in that we would be reimbursed for the travel. People bombarded @kizoic with questions on everything. I did too. Kizoic asked us to be still. I posted this: ‘Thanks, @kizoic - all you seem to be saying is: Do not panic, just do what you can and trust the rest to God. Finish. We hear you, and we thank you. It's okay.’ Also, certain people were accused of withholding info. They had done theirs but would tell no one what happened. Finally, though, Shablo and Jenks opened up. They were the first to do so. God bless them. Shablo said: ‘Hi people, I had my interview on thursday. the first is a group exercise, in which yu are expected to work with other team members to partition the outlines of a building to be use for an automobile manufacturing coy. Speak out very loud, don't jump and you shouldnt neccessarily be the first to talk. contribute wisely and don't be too controversial. The struggle continued. 8. Page Thirteen of Which Way NLNG?: I returned from Lagos, after people like @aniffy4eva had begun to think I had forgotten the Cause. I posted: ‘My people, what is all this talk about @kuwena being silenced! I am just back from my final encounter with NLNG. And now, I shall tell you how it went. I was scheduled for July the 4th, this month, like you all know. So I took a casual leave that has lasted for one week. I traveled from Kano to Lagos, enroute Abuja, where I stopped a day to visit a friend and to get a feel of the city (Abuja is one place I love very much). Leaving Abuja, I entered Lagos on Tuesday evening, and went straight to Festac, where I stayed. I settled in, and began to make phone calls to all my friends, to tell them I had arrived. The entire Tuesday was spent catching up with friends. Then on Wednesday, the 4th of July, 2007, the Dooms Day, I chartered a taxi from Festac all the way to Federal Palace Hotel, VI (it cost me =N=1,500.00) at quarter to seven; but because of the traffic jam, I still reached Federal Palace at ten minutes past eight. As soon as I entered the hall (I think it was the 11th floor or so) I saw the other candidates seated. Each person was well dressed in suit, as I was. They were being accredited. Accreditation in this regard simply means their viewing the originals of your university degree result and your sworn declaration of age, or birth crtificate. After the accreditation, we were given tags (since we were 20 to be interviewed that day, we were divided into two groups, A and B; so we had candidated A 1-10, and it was to be the same for those in B). I was in A. The exercise consisted on three major activities: 1. Group Exercise: Here they test your amenability to group settings 2. Presentation: Here they test how you can analyze complex hypothetical situations and respond to questions on them 3. Competency Based Interview: Here they try to find out your chief motivations. Basically, there will be breakfast and luch lavishly served. There will also be transport fares given you. Everything will be doctored to your benefit. You need not even read any textbook, or anything whatsoever. You are simply to be yourself. Afterall, Socrates himself said: 'Be yourself, for noone likes a counterfeit.' You are also to show intelligence and a high level of self confidence. You are to be honest and humble; careful and considerate. Recall that you are not competing against people, but against the standard of the great NLNG. The interview is the last stage. DO NOT CALL THEM AFTERWARDS. We are asked to be patient. The results would be out by September. If you get no offer letter, telling you to resume work, by the end of September, it means you have not been taken. If you do, it means you have, and are to resume work; there will not likely be training first; training comes after you must have worked awhile, and your skills known, so that they become clear on what they should train you on. Please, relax. If you are tense, you will mess up. Your 2-hot-2-handle Kuwena.’ I was very glad to be back. I had given it my best, and it was time to relax and let God take over. 9. Pages Fourteen & Fifteen of Which Way NLNG?: We earnestly sought God in prayer, realizing that only He could help us now. We had fought to the finish. We waited for His blessing. We still wait. We have begun to take seats on the employment flight: I posted: ‘I like it when you say that God does not choose the qualified, but only the chosen. I like it very much. It resembles what I already know and say: 'E don sign am say we go make am; Baba God don sign am say we go do am-o; na wa destiny, make them no think am.' From the foregoing, it is clear that what is important is not our qualification or lack of it, but that God has signed it. The Bible says: 'Who can prosper when the Lord has not commanded it?' So we see that the whole story of success is simply that of divine authority; our doing well is simply because God allows it. Of our own will and power, we are able to do nothing; but with the grace and power of God, we are able to everything. It makes us humble and reliant on God, and on God alone. Secondly, our flight is filling up: Seat One: @t-black Seat Two: @jbyno Seat Three: @kuwena Seat Four: @pisky Seat Five: @jenks We wait for the others. The plane takes off sometime in September. I thank you as well for you post, that talked about the wisdom of faith. Indeed, like I always say, there is a lot of God in this thing. We need to be strong. You know what the Psalmist said? He said: 'Yahweh, more and more people are turning against me; more and more people are rebelling against me; more and more people are saying about me, ''there is no help for him in his God''; but Yahweh, my encircling shield, You help me hold up my head' (Psalm 3 vs 1 & 2). This is the time when we must begin to hold up our heads if we already have not, or continue doing so, if we have. Holding up our heads in this regard does not simply refer to being spunky or resilient; it also refers to looking within to try to understand what is going on in our lives, and why what is going on is going on. It means trying to adjust our perceptions, our thought processes, and to make good decisions; decisions that will avail us of the right character responses to difficult situations. There is a fear of heights in most people that is both physical and psychological. The fear of succeeding is the psychological fear of heights; and some people do have this fear. They fear that something bad may happen to them when they move on up, so they stay low and watch others succeed, content with being the enviers, the player haters and all what not. Others, on the other hand, steadily move up higher in life, daily mastering the difficulties they have within, confronting the ethers that inspire pessimism, and the demons that throttle our growth and development. We are our own healers. St. Paul advises us to work out our salvation in fear and trembling; we are to become more aware of the liberating and saving presence of our God. There are examples that abound in this regard: 1. The case of Elijah, a man of God: The story goes that King Ahab, an evil king, sent his captain of fifty men, a formidable cohort, to Elijah to capture him. The captain and his fifty men went to where Elijah was on the hill, probably praying to Yahweh. The captain of the guard of fifty said to Elijah, 'Man of God, come down here at once, for the King has sent us to bring you speedily.' Elijah retorted, 'If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume both you and your fifty men.' My bible tells me that at once there came fire from heaven to consume both him and his fifty men. The king sent another captain of fifty men; the second captain and his fifty men went up to Elijah on the hill and said to him, 'Man of God, come down here at once, for the king has sent us to capture you.' Elijah retorted, 'If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume both you and your fifty men.' My bible again tells me that immediately, there came fire from heaven to consume both him and his fifty men. Another story of Elijah was that of the prophets of Baal. Elijah was the only prophet left, but the prophets of Baal were four hundred and fifty (450); Elijah felt a little scared, but he was brave and challenged the prophets of Baal to a contest; he said that the God which would answer by fire would be their God. The prophets of Baal were given their bull, which they slaughtered and placed on their altar; they called upon Baal for long hours, but Baal refused to answer them. Elijah mocked them; he said, 'Call upon Baal, for he is a god; only that he may be sleeping.' Imagine a God that sleeps! The prophets of Baal gashed themselves with lances and spears and cried unto Baal; they said, 'O Baal hear us!' But there was no reply; Elijah mocked them. He said, 'Call upon Baal, for he is a god; only that he may have traveled.' Imagine a god that travels! And the prophets of Baal called upon their God for hours; they called and called and called, but there was no reply. Elijah mocked them further. He said, 'Call upon Baal for he is a god; the only thing is that he may be visiting with friends.' Imagine a god that visits with friends! And the prophets of Baal called and called and called, but there was no response. And they gave up. Then Elijah called the people about him and rebuilt the altar of Yahweh with twelve stones which represented the twelve tribes of Israel. He slaughtered the bull and commanded that water be thrown upon; they threw water up to three times so much so that the water became a trench round about the offering. Then Elijah called upon Yahweh, and he did so with all his heart. At once, there came fire from heaven to consume the burnt offering, with the wood, and the water and everything that was on top of the twelve stones. The God of our fathers had visited him. And Elijah cried out, 'Lay hold of all the prophets of Baal; do not let any one escape.' So all the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal were slaughtered that day, but Yahweh was glorified. It reminds me of Psalm 115: 'Not to us, Yahweh; not to us, but to Your name be the glory, for the sake of Your love and Your truth, lest the heathen begin to ask where our God is; but our God is in heaven doing what he likes, whereas their gods are of silver and of gold, the products of human skill, which have eyes but cannot see; ears but cannot hear; mouth but cannot speak; hands but cannot touch; feet but cannot walk, and there is not a breath in their throats; their makers will come to be like them, and so will all who trust in them. Israel put your trust in Yahweh, our help and our shield; Aaron, put your trust in Yahweh, our help and our shield; you that fear the Yahweh put your trust in Him, our help and our shield.' 2. The story of David: The bible tells us that in the land of Judah, there lived a man called Jesse who had many sons; but when the Prophet Samuel came to anoint one of his children, it was the least, out in the fields, that he did; this David was a warrior and a man of God. One day, he came to the camp of the Israelites as they fought with the Phillistines. There was an arrogant tramp there by the name Goliath. Goliath boasted that he could destroy anyone who dared to fight him from the camp of the Israelites. David was visiting his brothers, who were of the Israelite camp at the time, having brought them food and drink. He saw the vain Phillistine and was irritated. He said, 'Who is this fellow that dares to speak so fellonly about the army of Yahweh? For daring to speak so, I shall fight him.' Everyone told him it was impossible, but he cared not. He went to Saul and asked for permission to fight the foolish Goliath. After a brief argument with Saul, which included rejection of the armour offered David by him, David marched forth with a sling and five stones to meet Saul. Saul asked, 'Am I a dog that you come to me with a sling? I shall feed you to the vultures!' David said, 'You come to me with spear and javelin and all what not; but I come to you in the name of Yahweh, the God you have dared to insult.' And wack! The Phillistine was dead in a minute. Glory to God! The Bible tells us that David went on to be a mighty king, and precursor to the Saviour Jesus the Christ. Indeed, even when Saul turned against him, the bible tells us that 'as the House of David grew stronger and stronger, the House of Saul grew weaker and weaker'. 3. The story of Gideon: Gideon was a small man; he belonged to the last family of the last tribe of Israel. The bible tells us that one day when he was threshing the wheat, the angel of the Lord came up to him and said: 'Thou valiant one, I greet you!' Gideon said, 'I? Valiant? I who am the last of the last family of the last tribe of the enslaved nation of Israel?' The angel encouraged him nonetheless even with signs and assured him that Yahweh had chosen him to be the delieverer of Israel. With faith, hence, Gideon marched out with three hundred men and conquered the entire enemy army of hundreds of thousands of men. Indeed, what is it that God cannot do for us, if we believe? The Bible tells us that if our faith be as small as a mustard seed we shall say to this mountain, 'Be thou removed and cast into the sea, and it will obey [us].' The disciples asked, 'How, Lord?' And Jesus replied, 'For men it is impossible; but not for God, because with God all things are possible.' Just believe. When the blind man called to Jesus for healing, Jesus turned to him, and the first question he asked the blind man was, 'Do you believe that I can do this?' The blind man said, 'I believe; help my little faith,' and Jesus cured him, asking him to go, that his faith had made him well. Alleluia! Fellow NLNG Hopefuls, just believe. 'E don sign am say we go make am; Baba God don sign am say we go do am-o! Na wa destiny, make them no think am! I believe.’ Pisky posted: ‘hi all! the more i visit the domain, the more i look forward to my assessment date(18/07/2007) with great enthusiasm. i am so elated knowing that there are still people out there who look unto God and not men, because men will always be men, they will fail and disappoint you but God will not fail us irrespective of the situation we find ourselves in. He has only asked us to do one very small thing (have faith and trust in him) and leave the rest to him. He also said through the psalmist, that if men could do good, how much more Him who is the owner of good? I know for sure there is just one thing that is impossible for God to do and it is for HIM TO LIE because i have known all my life that HE CANNOT LIE! his word is spirit and flesh and since he has spoken it in spirit that I should ask and i will receive, which i have done, i simply await the manifestation of that spirit (word) in flesh. That day will be some time in the first week of september when i will receive my employment letter signed by one NWANA C.C. (mrs.) begging me to resume sometime within the month. And that will be the portion of all active hopefuls in the house, say amen to that prayer and catch the great faith fever!!!!! my song every day is: av never seen you Lord disappointing me (2x) Your word is yes! Your word is amen! av never seen you Lord disappointing me And I am inestimably sure He will never disappoint me. @jbyno!! that your theory of picking 3 successful people everyday is not true, i was reliably informed that we are assessed based on certain criteria set by them and that it is possible for a whole group, or some individual(s) in the group to make it and vise-versa. these criteria we do not know, all we need do is be ourselves and measure against these standards and if you measure up you are successfull but if you don't, reverse will be the case. so you see why we should not look anywhere else but heaven from whence comes our help!!!!’ Most recently, we have begun giving to one another what we want for ourselves. I posted: ‘I am full of thanks, Adrian; I am full of thanks and love, Pisky. Alleluia! Aluta continua, victoria acerta!’ Even now, @sequoia says: ‘@jbyno, im doing good. sure u had a nice trip to abuja. @all others, why disturb yourself that more engineers would be chosen than others. after coming this far, methinks that we should have gone beyond all that. from 18,000 applicants to maybe 480. lets all beleive taht what god wills will be, and letss hope for the best. sometime ago, many were wondering the fate of peeps still serving. what has come of it? the results of the interviews would be coming about a month after they would have completed youth service. see the way things sort themselves out, eventually, so why worry when u can do more important and productive things. its well, much love.’ What more can we say? I recall the song: ‘What can I say unto the Lord? All I have to say is thank you, Lord. Thank you, thank you; thank you, Lord!’ ‘[You] don sign am say we go make am; Baba God [You] don sign am say we go do am-o; na wa destiny, make dem no tink am!’ Even so, Lord; speedily accomplish Your will in our lives. Amen. |

How are you sure that it is because they do not want to have us call them that they said ending of September, or are you simply speculating? ANyway, no wa. We will keep waiting on them, but most importantly, waiting on God as well. Why has thid thread chosen to remain stubbornly on page 16 despite the fact that we keep posting and posting and posting. This is strange. By now, it ought to have reached page 16, or don't you think so? DO you feel me? Hmmm. I hope it enters page sixteen right after this. Afterall, we have been posting and posting and posting. It should indeed get to page sixteen by now. Do you feel me, or don't you feel me? I do sincerely hope it gets to page sixteen right after this anyway, so that I can feel relieved and happy. I mean, we have been posting and posting and posting, and yet it remains at page fifteen. Do you feel me? I'm sure you feel me. When it reaches page sixteen after this post, if it does, I shall truly be happy and smile and be very cool like that, you know what I mean? Look, do you feel me? You're sure you really really feel me? Ah, God, please let it reach page 16 now. God, do YOU feel me? No be YOU sign am say we go make am? No be YOU sign am say we go do am-o; no be awa destiny, make dem no tink am? Correct! |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by kuwena(m): 11:16am On Jul 18, 2007 |
Okay, let me just try one last time to see if I can take this thread topage 16 by myself, or if there might be a technical fault to the effect that this thread cannot make it to page sixteen - not that it matters anyway, but just for the fun of it - so let's see. Does this one get to page 16 or is there need for something more; something other than this? Let's see. |
Re: Which Way Nlng? by kuwena(m): 11:20am On Jul 18, 2007 |
It is apparent there may be some technical hitch preventing this thread from ever reaching page 16. Now, I truly give up. But I shall keep posting, if at all the thread is allowed to stay at all. I shall have faith, and we shall have the longest page 15. Hopefully. |

Hi NLNG hopeful, i must apologise for not been regular too on this thread cos i hardly go to cafes now to send application or check for vancacy.just like Mohid said, i ve gotten one already(NLNG, ISA).When i came out of the last stage during my assessment which is CBI, something in me said to me "Start ur Thanks giving this very moment cos ur NLNG employment ve just been perfected" i smiled and sent praises to Almighty God instantly. So NLNG hopefuls, wat are u waiting for?start ur thanksgiving now as u await ur employment letter soon. Pls follow me in singing this song: "What can I say unto the Lord? All I have to say is thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord!, thank you Lord!! thank you, Lord!!!, one Love.’ |
