Black (nigerian) Parents Give Birth To White Baby by K3L3CH1: 9:56am On Jul 20, 2010 |
A BLACK couple coo over their new baby yesterday - a white, blue-eyed BLONDE. British Nmachi Ihegboro has amazed genetics experts who say the little girl is NOT an albino. Dad Ben, 44, a customer services adviser, admitted: "We both just sat there after the birth staring at her." Mum Angela, 35, of Woolwich, South London, beamed as she said: "She's beautiful - a miracle baby." Ben told yesterday how he was so shocked when Nmachi was born, he even joked: "Is she MINE?" He added: "Actually, the first thing I did was look at her and say, 'What the flip?'" But as the baby's older brother and sister - both black - crowded round the "little miracle" at their home in South London, Ben declared: "Of course she's mine." Blue-eyed blonde Nmachi, whose name means "Beauty of God" in the Nigerian couple's homeland, has baffled genetics experts because neither Ben nor wife Angela have ANY mixed-race family history. Pale genes skipping generations before cropping up again could have explained the baby's appearance. Ben also stressed: "My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn't been, the baby still wouldn't look like that. "We both just sat there after the birth staring at her for ages - not saying anything." Doctors at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup - where Angela, from nearby Woolwich, gave birth - have told the parents Nmachi is definitely no albino. Ben, who came to Britain with his wife five years ago and works for South Eastern Trains, said: "She doesn't look like an albino child anyway - not like the ones I've seen back in Nigeria or in books. She just looks like a healthy white baby." He went on: "My mum is a black Nigerian although she has a bit fairer skin than mine. "But we don't know of any white ancestry. We wondered if it was a genetic twist. "But even then, what is with the long curly blonde hair?" Professor Bryan Sykes, head of Human Genetics at Oxford University and Britain's leading expert, yesterday called the birth "extraordinary". He said: "In mixed race humans, the lighter variant of skin tone may come out in a child - and this can sometimes be startlingly different to the skin of the parents. "This might be the case where there is a lot of genetic mixing, as in Afro-Caribbean populations. But in Nigeria there is little mixing." Prof Sykes said BOTH parents would have needed "some form of white ancestry" for a pale version of their genes to be passed on. But he added: "The hair is extremely unusual. Even many blonde children don't have blonde hair like this at birth." Blonde bombshell , parents show newbornNmachi to sister Dumebi and bruv Chisom yesterday Blonde bombshell , parents show newborn Nmachi to sister Dumebi and bruv Chisom yesterday PETER SIMPSON & NEIL HALL The expert said some unknown mutation was the most likely explanation. He admitted: "The rules of genetics are complex and we still don't understand what happens in many cases." The amazing birth comes five years after Kylie Hodgson became mum to twin daughters - one white and the other black - in Nottingham. Kylie, now 23, and her partner Remi Horder, now 21, are both mixed race. Even so the odds were estimated at a million to one. The Sun told in 2002 how a white couple had Asian twins after a spermatozoa mix-up by a fertility clinic. Yesterday three-day-old Nmachi's churchgoing mum Angela admitted that she was "speechless" at first seeing her baby girl, who was delivered in a caesarean op. She said: "I thought, 'What is this little doll?' "She's beautiful and I love her. Her colour doesn't matter. She's a miracle baby. "But still, what on earth happened here?" Her husband told how their son Chisom, four, was even more confused than them by his new sister. Ben said: "Our other daughter Dumebi is only two so she's too young to understand. "But our boy keeps coming to look at his sister and then sits down looking puzzled. "We're a black family. Suddenly he has a white sister." Ben continued: "Of course, we are baffled too and want to know what's happened. But we understand life is very strange. "All that matters is that she's healthy and that we love her. She's a proud British Nigerian." Queen Mary's Hospital said: "Congratulations to Angela and her family on the birth of their daughter." Ok, i don't mean to poke fun at anybody, least of all the parents. I want that understood. But c'mon people, we are adults here - right-thinking adults with our heads screwed on right and all the screws in the right places, right? If so, then someone should please tell them geneticists and scientists and whatever else they are, to pack that load of crap they're spewing and shove it somewhere the sun don't shine. The explanation is much, MUCH simpler: Someone's been playing around. Q.E.D. White-skined, i can take. Blue-eyed, i can take. But BLONDE ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Might be some sort of genetic mutation or probably got some unknown white ancestry on one side of either family. 1 Like |

I have Blonde Jewish baby; and I didnt have to marry fat, ugly, white woman like all my friends in Europe and North America. I, Okonkwo, should be made King!!!" |

kay9: It's worth noting, even if the black wife slept with a white man, and got pregnant, the resultant baby will still be biracial, which will look nothing like the white baby we see here. The baby is the result of two black parents. There are some things that science can't explain, and this is one of them. What about the mixed race lady with a black partner, that gave birth to twins five years earlier (I remember that vividly) with one black, and one white? Was the mother playing around too? |
Re: Black (nigerian) Parents Give Birth To White Baby by Nobody: 11:00am On Jul 20, 2010 |
desgiezd: Because the father's mind set is different from that of the average Nigerian. And he's smart enough to know that even if his wife did sleep with a white man, the resultant baby born would still be biracial, and not white. Stranger things have happened in the part that have baffled experts. 1 Like |

Why isnt anybody talking about a DNA test. For me, absolutely no comment until a definitive DNA result affirms paternity. Nothing new for this world O. Nothing truly strange. |

What about the mixed race lady with a black partner, that gave birth to twins five years earlier (I remember that vividly) with one black, and one white? Was the mother playing around too? both partners were biracial. the man in particular looked hispanic. in two other cases of white and black twins in england and germany, both fathers were white. One biracial mother and one black mum. @ topic nine months ago [time machine], did the couple do in vitro fertilization. Are there any biracial people in their family who were involved. |

Re: Black (nigerian) Parents Give Birth To White Baby by Nobody: 12:11pm On Jul 20, 2010 |
If I was the guy, I would not opt for a DNA test. Assuming he does, and it comes back positive, i.e, he's the biological father, what does he then tell his wife? That he doubted her fidelity? A DNA test could break even the most stable of marriages. They also have 2 other kids between them, so they're not a "brand new" couple that don't understand each other. |

Yes, it's going to become a circus, if it hasn't already. But then, if they hadn't gone public, it might have been worse. Neighbours, friends etc would spread all sorts of rumours, including they might have lost their baby, and adopted one in its place. I dunno really. |

Siena: Siena, I dont see how this guy is going to be at peace without a DNA. That silent voice will forever remain in the background irrespective of how much he tries to ignore it. The only way to get rid of it is a DNA test. Mind you a positive result does not mean a dissolution of marriage or anything like that. If what I have seen of the guy is anything to go by, I think he can handle it. Well, I can. |

Sperm donor maybe? And they accidentally got a white man's sperm? I can't think of any other reason why the husband won't insist on a DNA test. |
