Surviving Diabetes

Did you take being diabetic or been diagnosed of diabetes as your death sentence, do you see it as the end of the world, do you see it as a barrier, hindrance or limitation to living life the way you want or becoming who you want to be. Then you need a change of mentality or really need to read and ask questions to widen your scope. Yes people with diabetes can live long, healthy, fulfilled and happy. What's more than these.

Diabetes or diabetes mellitus is an abnormal condition in which the body doesn't have control of the sugar (glucose) in the blood. When we consume carbohydrate food they are broken down into simple sugar called glucose. These glucose is metabolised in the body to produce ATP(energy). This metabolism of glucose is carried out by a hormone called insulin which is secreted by the pancease. It is as a result in the deficiency of the pancease.

So literally, diabetes can occur when the body doesn't secrete insulin or the insulin secreted is not enough to metabolise the glucose or sugar in the body. Except if you are also followed by your village people .

Symptoms or characteristics of diabetes.

It is a case of hyperglycemia ( that is excess sugar in the blood). Symptoms include: blurred vision, hunger, thirst, frequent urination.
