On October 1st this year Nigeria will be 50yrs, a reason while it is worth celebrating. A lot of preparations are going on towards the celebration but we all know there is nothing to celebrate about- the educational system is bad, health sector is nothing to write home about with high motality rate, inadequate health facilities (politicians and their families travel with our money to treat themselves abroad even of headache), unemployment, mass iilitracy, poverty, corruption and so on. Yet, they give themselves National honours to celebrate mediocrity. Nevertheless, we acknowledge that some few deserve the honours e.g Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, but many of the recipients deserve to be given the National Dishonour Award for their contribution to the backwardness and dilapidated state of the country. United States of America has given about 200 National Honours in their 200yrs of existence while Nigeria has given out about 4000 National Honours in just 50yrs!

I think as a peoples' parliament on this forum, we should also give awards to those that have brought the country to this present state and popularize Nigeria in bad light by being corrupt, fraudulent, dictator or in support of these by their actions or inactions for 50yrs now. So, the award categories go thus:

GCFR-  Grand Crook of the Federal Republic
GCON- Grand Crook of the Order of Niger
CFR-    Crook of the Federal Republic
CON-   Crook of the Order of Niger
MFR-    Mischief-maker of the Federal Republic
MON-   Mischief-maker of the Order of Niger
OFR-    Ole of the Federal Republic
OON-   Official Ole of Niger

You can nominate those you know that really deserve these Dishonours Awards by posting their names and the title of the award category you think they deserve. At the end, the committee will sit and come out with the list of the winners based on your nominations. These awards would be published on this forum on 1st of October to "appreciate'' their efforts towards the development undevelopment  of our dear nation.
