This information was brought to my notice as one of my brother who is seeking admission into the HND program 2018/2019 of FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE.

He started the admission processes by doing the online payment of 15k, he sat for the written entrance exam and his exam result was even greater than the department merit requirement.

The admission list for both merit and supplementary candidate was pasted and his name was not among,he summon the courage to go and meet the Dean of student affairs of the school and was told today by the school Dean of student affairs that the school does not admit students fromm the following schools:

Polytechnic of Ibadan,
IREE poly,
Kwara poly,
Lagos state poly and
ESA Oke polytechnic for the past 15 years

...and my brother did his OND program in polytechnic of Ibadan.

My questions now is why don't they make it official as part of their conditions before prospective students apply for their school form,why the underground discrimination, does our concern educational sectors knows about this and lastly why is it that such atrocities given low awareness. This is not fair on us.

Please I need my people opinion on this topic to create more awareness, at least to prevent other falling victim

I believe they refunded his money.It is quite disheartening for his time and effort being wasted.

I school in the north BTW and I can confidently say that most schools in the west are merely living on past glories. They have nothing extraordinary to offer. And, more often than not, they turn out 'proud products' like you.

see as u opened your filty mouth to defend trash. What Ede poly is doing is outrageous. They can't even compete with schools like polyibadan. Did u check the current NBTE and webometric rankings? So stop defending anomalies, okay?

It should have been pasted on their website so that the prospective applicants will have know beforehand and choose another school instead of wasting their time and money

I can't just comprehend their reasons for this kind of attitude toward other schools. what a waste of time and money

thanks for the awareness, I hope something drastically is done. if they know that they won't accept students from this mentioned institution, why can't they make it public.

1. HND form is 10500 excluding 1k bank charges.
2. How sure are you that your said brother scored above the departmental cut off mark.
3. Its an internal policy of the polytechnic not to accept students from the listed polytechnics due to their history of violence and cultism related activities.

Quoting the Dean who may have given you such information in confidence may not be good enough.

. He scored more than the merit requirement,the most painful part of it was that the Dean even told him that even if had scored 100% they will not admit him. The fact that an institution have an history of cultism and violence does not mean that all the students are cultist or violent,students should be given benefit of doubt as long as he meet the school requirements or better still they should make official by putting on their website that they don't want certain schools candidates for their program instead of the scam to extort innocent Nigerians.

It's because those schools are way better than Ede Poly

The students from those schools consume too much of Amala it's not hard to figure out

Historically, the schools you listed and some others have very bad violence and criminal records, i knew this 12yrs ago

They can never make this official and it is an information no one can successfully argue with, every school has some undisclosed admission clauses, take take them anywhere you may never win

He has to quote the Dean in other to present his fact. Your school kept this a secret so that you can keep deceiving and wasting other people's time and money. His application should have been denied immediately you notice his formal school. THIS IS A GOOD PUBLIC NOTICE

Our educational sector is in comatose and no life support for it, God save our Nigerian students.

May God save our educational sector, this is real problem. Poly for that matter.
