I obviously did not do physics. But please what happens if you run out of fuel. Your car gradually comes to a halt.
Am not saying it’s the solution but in a situation where you are on a free way and have no brakes. The solution I proposed is genius

When u run out of fuel, ur car engine will cut off but car will continue to be in motion and stop gradually. It's the same as when u have fuel and don't press the accelerator, ur engine will be alive but car will come to a stop gradually just like when u run out of fuel. In fact it's better when car doesn't shut off because u will still have control over the steering. When engine cuts off ur steering becomes stiff which is more dangerous. So the solution proposed is not genuis as it won't really help yo stop the car any more than when the car is still running and u put ur foot off the accelerator. Engine braking and hand brake are ur best friends in this situation. Change too low gear (for automatic that is why we have L gear after D) and use ur parking brake.

And it's not even rocket science to shut off fuel supply to the engine when in motion, just turn ur key to off position... Lobatan

Not the best thing to do. Putting it in neutral will have little effect. The best is put it in low gear and let engine braking do it's thing and then use ur hand(parking) brake. It's a pity majority of Nigerians don't use their parking brake, majority just yank it off after the shoes goes bad.
