Red Card over fraudulent Acts: Ogoni, Other Niger Delta communities and Contractors order for immediate resignation of MD, Nsima Ekere

By Umani Uwemedimo

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has been labelled an incapacitated commission by community leaders under the leadership of the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Nsima Ekere who's been accused of running the Commission as his Personal Automated Money Dispensing Machine, ATM.

The Ogoni community youths in a peaceful demonstration earlier today matched en-masse to the Commission's headquarters in Port Harcourt, clamouring for the immediate resignation of Nsima Ekere of APC as the MD of the Commission.

The reason behind this drastic decision by the youths of Ogoni, is that several contracts which were awarded for some internal roads to be rehabilitated, thereby rescuing them from complete collapsed, were abandoned upon excavation hence, making the state's of those roads more deteriorating than they were. This is in line with the current speculation going viral on media platforms that Obong Nsima Ekere us wantonly and recklessly diverting funds meant for development of projects into his Gubernatorial Campaigns in Akwa Ibom State.

It could also be recalled that some months ago, youths from Bayelsa fired a salvo titled " Nsima Ekere robbing Peter to pay Paul", stated in a widely circulated statement during one of their peaceful demonstrations that they are compelled to blow the whistle about the cataclysm that the wanton greed and a variance of Nsima Ekere could wreck if not stopped immediately, and the only way of seeing the possibility of this, is strive to make sure he resigns his position as MD of NDDC.

The group stated that it cannot sit back and watch monies and projects meant for infrastructural and human development of Niger Delta communities diverted  simply to service the personal ambitions of Nsima Ekere.

Meanwhile, a group of contractors known as the Indigenous Contractors Of The Niger Delta Development Commission, has joined forces with the indigents of Niger Delta to decry fraudulent acts of Nsima Ekere as MD.

They accused Nsima Ekere of diverting a whopping sum of N500bn meant for the Commission developmental projects. In their petition against Nsima Ekere, the accused of Nsima Ekere of diverting the above stipulated amount in acquiring cars, lands and properties in and out of Nigeria.

In the petition jointly signed by Mr. Omokin Tombari, and Dr. Biodun Akinfeluwa, which serves as Chairman and Secretary respectively. The group stated that Nsima Ekere has contravened the Code of Conduct and Tribunal Act, by not maintaining a high standard of public morality in the conduct of public business in his activities as the MD of NDDC.

While waiting for EFCC to immediate reaction to their petition within seven days, they've called Nsima Ekere to resign his position as MD of NDDC or they're going to approach Court of Law for Legal actions.
