The silver linning for Chelsea today is the performance of Danny Sturridge. With performances like that, we will definitely see more of him this season.

For now, I agree with Ancellotti's strategy which is: don't change a winning team. There is no cause for alarm - yet.

About a munite ago, I just finished replyin my friend a text msg dat he sent to me, dis is what he said "Wetin man u n chelsea later play? after d 1st half sleep carry me."

Can't believe dat i also dozed off. i didn't even watched when man u scored dia 1st goal, it was d screemin of "GOAL" from d commentator on d tv dat woke me up. Dat was wen i saw valencia celebratin his goal for man u. D match is borin. before d match, i just finished watchin Barca against a chinese club side "Beijin FC". D match was played in china n it was more interestin dan d chelsea vs man u match, despite dat barca fielded youth team, Messi n Abidal wia d only 1st team players dat started. barca won 3 - 0. with Ibrahamovic scorin 1 of d goal in d 2nd half n d two other goals wia scored by barca youth players!!

Chelsea players have lost shape and focus. I foresee a worse season for them, John Terry is the worst defenders I've ever seen and knows nothing except to sleep with another team-mate's wife.

The strength of UTD is in the consistency of the side. . . . a near unchanged squad means little or no tweaking to do.
Chicharito and Berbatov look a very good pair - they seem to strike a perfect balance. Scholesy and Carrick showed Capello what England missed during the WC; control, composure and good use of possession even when outnumbered by a very "bullish" chelsea midfield.
UTD were never at their fluent best but the signs are encouraging enough.

As for Chelsea, their most dangerous incursions were from the flanks where Kalou & Sturridge created problems for our lads, down the middle, bar Essiens strong runs, they really had nothing to offer. In the whole match, there was only 1 very good through pass of note that split the UTD defence decisively - Ancelloti has a major problem on his hands!

Good analysis.Where you dey since?
I think Sturridge ca n develop if given enough playing time.United though need to add some steel in the middle.
Essien will get back to his usual hardworking self,but I guess they need more from their midfield,hence the Ramires signing.Like I said before I won't read much into the game except that United still have lots to offer.Anyone writing us off is doing so at his/her folly.
Amazinghow people won't give cred where it's due.United wins and the game was boring.Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I guess a lot of folks are just trying to downplay the importance of the game but as the commentators on Supersport said "Chelsea vs UTD at Wembley is always an important game"
You're correct - UTD still need a lot of steel in the midfield and defence; particularly troubling was the way Sturridge was getting the better of Evans at LB. Smalling still looks like he needs a lot of "brushing up".
Its still early days a lot can still go wrong or right but what I'd love most to see is the fans ease off on Berbatov a bit and the players try to keep the ball on the ground more whenever he's on. We have stability on our side and we have to use that to our advantage!


Dunno if Chelsea are counting on Essien/Lampard to provide the creative "goods" at the heart of their midfield. . . . not good at all. They'd be better of sticking Benayoun in there. Right now, its looking like the Chelsea of old; Ramires, Mikel, Essien and Lampard to great extents are players of similar mould - more of graft than flair, finesse and vision.

Leave those bitter folks.How United vs Chelsea is not important is what I'm trying to get around my head.
As per Berbatov,there's no doubting his quality.His goal only shows he has lots of it.
I just wish he'd do more,and I wish he'd stop sulking.His level of intelligence far outdoes a lot of players,including United's but I guess his introverted nature makes him difficult to understand in and out of the pitch.He and Hernandez are looking the part as a tandem.
I guess pace is not Evans' strong suite,so I wasn't surprised Sturridge got past him so easily. . .but I don't have too many worries in the defence.My problem is a stable midfield for United.No point now in counting on Hargo'.The options in the middle are not too encouraging,as Scholes is getting old,Fletcher at best erratic and Carrick inconsistent of late.Anderson-probably not mature enough.
In all it's a positive start
