2. Buying from Vets or Online? It's simply a matter of choice and what's available to you. Thank God we are in an era were everything and all things is just a click button away. . If you have a vet nearby, Good. If you also have to buy online, also good. I love the fact that even a product in Australia is just a click button away, isn't that miraculous? 2 Likes 1 Share |

3. I usually don't go beyond 6weeks of age after brooding. That is not to say I do not keep beautiful ones from each stocks to myself. For me, I start introducing kitchen leftovers from 8weeks and above. This is about the time I also start giving them alternative food source I get from Alaba, and also mixed Spent grains mixed with .... Pls if you have to get food wastes from the market, always make sure you give them fresh fruits and discard the leftovers if not feasted on. 1 Like 1 Share |

jidestroud:Brother Jidestroud i must confess you are wonderfully amazing bro, thanks in bunch. Based on your last statement the reason I prefer Kuroiler or Noiler than Broiler is because of intensive care of monitoring that Broilers needs so wanted chicken rearing as a pass time but not a major work for now. |

EmyGod:Okay boss. Consultancy from vets could also be done online sir. Although, having one in person coming to visit your farm from time to time may further boost your confidence. Happy Sunday 2 Likes 1 Share |

My experience with one of the popular agro ecommerce stores online was disastrous (name withheld for now). Placed an order and delivery took almost 2weeks. The birds eventually arrived and it was such a terrible sight to behold. Almost every carton had about 4 chicks already eaten up, the packs were smelly... Walahi, I almost walked away from the delivery out of anger. Well, I did sort out the carcass and removed the weak ones. In total, 20 chicks was lost by the i got home, and 8 more in the next 6hrs. . Making it a total of 28 birds, wetin con remain? Placed a call to the customer representative who promised to look into it which never happened. After several attempts to secure justice for the dead birds , I gave up and just vowed never to buy from them again (not that it makes any difference sha )

Redomi:I wouldn't blame the hatcheries that much. I would appropriate the blame to the Ecommerce vendor platform I got it from. Stuffs like this may happen, but, what do you when it does happen? How do you handle the situation? |

Please boss, what will crossing of Cockerel Roster and Noiler hen bring? Will the chick hatch from the matting grow fast like Noiler? |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 10:48am On Jul 11, 2021 |
Redomi:The probability of the outcome is so unpredictable. I have had a cockerel crossing a noiler in the past, although there wasn't any significant difference in the growth pattern of the chicks, but I did I have 2 miniature dwarf sized looking hens when fully grown (still kept one of them till present) from the hatched eggs. I stopped after that (my dislike for cockerels is known to all). |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by Redomi(m): 10:59am On Jul 11, 2021 |
jidestroud:Thank you sir, I have just one laying boiler, it has been laying everyday since last year. But I need few chicken to grow my laying turkey chicks. I couldn't get a male boiler around except local roster and Cockerel. But those local roster are too small compared to the big Cockerel, so I was thinking the chicks may not grow fast like noiler, so I decided to cross it with the Cockerel |
