I came to Canada with a visit visa 2021. I got ppr recently,please how do I go about it. I didn't change my address because I felt I was going back to Nigeria after my visit ,I didn't know that my pr application would be completed. How do I go about the passport submission,anyone that has gone through this?

My 2 cents;
If i were in your shoes, I would explore presenting an hypothetical case to the immigration office and seek advice as to what to do. Worst case scenario you would return to Nigeria.
Don't attempt to send your passport to Nigeria because it would prolly be in their records and on your passport that you entered Canada.... All the best!!

Send a webform to IRCC now advising of your new address and wait for further instructions, which may include access to eCOPR portal.

samsung phones work. Avoid infinix and techno. For some other brands not all models work.

2 options come to mind:

Send a webform to IRCC now advising of your new address and wait for further instructions, which may include access to eCOPR portal.

OR

Return to Nigeria, send passport to a VFS for visa and COPR and return to Canada afterwards.

You can send a webform but it might take weeks before you get an update, I will advise you to call IRCC for a prompt response and prepare to go back to Nigeria should need be. You have just 30 days to send your passport I think. Best of luck

Hello all. Please can a good credit score be achieved from just using credit cards to buy groceries and pay phone bills? Can someone achieve a good score for house mortgage without having to do car loan on credit first?

I don't know why you guys are always scared once you hear credit. Credit in canada is different from credit in Nigeria if you know how to use it wisely. Credit is actually good and a lot of people have made fortunes off the back of this. Oga, don't be scared. You can do car loan if you want. You can do anything and not just limit this fantastic opportunity to just "buying groceries and paying phone bills". Just use it wisely.

Though e still get small K-Leg. But must you always compare Canada to Nigeria Can they even be compared?

Make sure the phone has LTE bands 2,4,7,12,13,17,29. These are the bands used by the telcos in Canada. Phones made for Asian markets or specifically for Nigerian market like techno , infinix, itel. Etc, may not have these bands

Go to the port of entry (airport) ask for the CBSA office. You should be able to do your landing there

Thanks for responding.. I'm not scared of the credit system but just asking to learn.. Apart from making payments and using it wisely, by paying off debts before the due date, in order to accumulate points and reduce interest rates for subsequent purchases, can you kindly share other options for using the credit card?

When was the last time you did this?

You don’t just show up at cbsa office without an appointment.

The Op needs to send a webform and will be advised on what to do next.

PS- 2 people I know were in this position. All they did was a webform, IRCC checked, asked for copies of their passports and all that and they became a PR without having to go anywhere.

Same here, landed 2 days ago with my family… been searching on kijiji and rent faster but nothing yet, most apartments I’ve seen, after calling up the landlord they tell you it is no longer available….so why is it still listed na Oga..

Lol. I feel it'll be easier finding accommodation now that you're on ground, than over the internet.

Get in touch with the Association of Nigerians in Nova Scotia (ANNS) and check on Kijiji.com.

There is a housing crisis in Nova Scotia at the moment but you will still be able to get something, although expensive.
