My Elders in canada, I greet ooo. I have a question. I increased my ita score claiming unaccompanied spouse. My score was low at the time. Now I've gotten ppr. If I land in Canada let say June 2022, how soon can I file application for spousal sponsorship. Or is it mandatory for me to wait for a full year by filing tax return before I can proceed. Please everyone with experience should help me. 1 Like |

kennyjoy:Only you? I have two questions for you. Is there no food at all in Canada or are you going to a camp in the bush and are packing all you need to survive? Secondly, you want to open an African store in Canada? 2 Likes |

kennyjoy: No problem at all with these items, but you can reduce them, as they are all readily available here. Rice, G.oil, tomato paste, beans power, SALT, is not even necessary 7 Likes 1 Share |

kennyjoy: 1. Beans powder - come with small quantity 2. Beans, - You can bring this in small quantity, there is beans available here that looks closely like ours ( Black Eyed Peas available at Walmart) 3. Rice, - Bring this in small quantity too, rice is available here. ( Parboiled Rice in regular stores, available at Walmart too) 4. Semo, - We have semo here but you can come with small quantity of semo to have something to eat before you get stabilized. 5. Wheat - Same remark with semo 6 Garri, - Garri is available at African Store but not cheap for a newbie so come with enough garri . 7. Ground Pepper - This is available at regular stores but you can come with it, put in a ziplock bag and label it. 8. Egus i(grounded one) - By all means, please come with this. 9. Palm Oil - I am not so sure about carrying this but you will really need palmoil here. You can plan to buy your palm oil here because the way they throw bags at the airport, you wont want your stuff to get stained badly. Though i see gist of people that travel with palmoil. 10. Groundnut Oil, - No need buy your groundnut oil in Canada. It is cheap here. They sell at Walmart. 11. Maggi,- Pour all your maggi in a Ziplock bag and label it 12. Dry Catfish, - I am not sure of catfish but you can come with dried fish. Put all in Zip lock bag and label. 13. Salt - No need, salt available here and very cheap., 14. Turning stick - Yes, 15 Shea butter (Ori) - Yes. 16. Tomato paste.- No need. Additions: * Drugs for Malaria, cold and headache - Come with enough medications. * Screen protector - come with spare ones maybe 5 or 6. * Nightware /pyjamas that covers your body head to toe - ( you might struggle with the cold at your initial arrival period before getting used to it). * For food, items like Amala, ogbono, poundo, fufu , ewedu, garri are only available at African stores and not cheap for someone new in the system so you can prioritize those and take small quantity of the rest. I hope this helps you. 52 Likes 20 Shares |

Hi everyone. Please I need your kind input. My family and I just got PPR and intend to travel by June. However, my passport is expiring by October. I have started the passport renewal process and will be capturing on next week. Now I don't know if to submit the old passtport for stamping and travel with both old and new pasaports(I don't know if this is possible) or wait till I get the new passport and submit that for stamping My concern is that if I'm to submit the new passport, will it be an issue since ircc does not have that on file. Or will it be easy to just send ircc a copy of the new passport, so they add it to my file, and then go ahead to submit the new passport for stamping. I'm really not sure of the next steps to take. Please kindly advice. Thank you |
