The former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion have been reported to have rejected his sister's bid to be reelected as the representative of the Ovia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly (NASS).

While the former Governor was said to be in interested in having his daughter contest for the position under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Patriarch of the Igbinedion, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, wanted his daughter, Ms Omosede Igbinedion reelected.

It was gathered that the insistence of the Esama of Benin on having Omosede reelected, has pitched the former Governor against his sister as well as his father.

It was learnt that Lucky's insistence of having Omosede replaced was as a result of the general believe of her abysmal performance as the representative of the Ovia Federal Constituency for four years.

It would be recalled that Igbinedion family have for decades, dominated the political space of Ovia North East where they hail from.

Meanwhile, the people of the Ovia Federal Constituency, especially Okada which is the Igbinedion's ancestral home, have expressed their determination not to allow the Igbinedion control the polity of the area.

The people said that they are resolved, more than the ever, to decide their fate.

They noted that years which the Igbinedion's were allowed to decide their fate, no meaningful development have taken place in the area.

"Rather, the family continue to enrich themselves while the people continue to leave under pitiable condition.

"just look at the road that leads to Okada, the home town of the former Governor, the former Governor awarded it twice while in office, and twice the money disappeared without having the road done.

"Prior to the 2015 general elections, they (Igbinedion) deceived the people by giving them false employment only to be sacked after Omosede emerged victorious in the poll.

"We are not only wiser now, we are better informed to know the antics of the Igbinedion. Never again are we going to be fooled by those who thinks Ovia is their property," stated the source who pleaded anonymity.
