As the voting process is being concluded at various polling units in Nigeria, candidates of leading political parties have rated the voting process.

After casting their votes, there were interrogated by journalists and asked to assess the ongoing election process.

The results from their assessments showed that presidential candidates of the APC are satisfied with the process while those of the PDP complained.

Also, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, gave negative ratings.

Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, complained about the process, saying: “I have faith in the process but that doesn’t mean that the process is perfect. It took me too much time to vote. I was intimidated by security officials. It is too early to comment on the outcome.”

When asked to comment on the process, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said: “When I came, we were put in batches and I voted. I won’t comment on the outcome yet. We should allow a free and fair election and we should all come out to vote. It is our right to vote. It is an important civic right.”

“So far, so good. Nigerians understand and are behaving themselves,’’ Buhari said when asked to give his assessment of the exercise, so far.

When asked if he would congratulate the winner if he lost the election he said, “I will congratulate myself; I am going to be the winner,’’ the president added.

At Atiku’s ward, it was learnt that Card Readers malfunctioned.

He was silent on the conduct of the voting process but said that: “I look forward to a successful transition.”

Yakubu Dogara said: “I think it’s fairly ok, judging by what I have seen here. It’s a bit smooth, But in a sense, you know I had a problem with the Card Reader, it couldn’t automatically authenticate me. So I had to thumbprint on the Voters Register, so to say for me to vote”

Saraki also expressed reservation over the late arrival of voting materials.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the late commencement of election at his polling unit.

He casts his vote at exactly 10:11am.
