Can your laptop detect any other USB device apart from the MTN modem?

yes(it detects ma flash)

You mean you have never used the modem before on your laptop or it stopped detecting it all of a sudden though you have been using it before.

Thank you for the above. This is down to a driver or compatibility issue. your friend most likely using

for further advice. My colleagues have said it all. Does it detect other usb device. connect your MTN modem and look out for a blinking light

Is your Sim card inserted ? click start > run and type in devmgmt.msc scrool down to universal serial bus controller or other device

any yellow signs ? if or not right click on each item underneath universal serial bus controller and click uninstall restart your computer
then test. Good luck

yes, it does detects other usb devices. Sim is well inserted. The problm is wen u open the mtnfastlink icon, there wont be netwk, instead it tells me d device is disconnected.
