Obviously it seems these definitions and must haves defer from Country to Country. The first and initial list is a must have for me (although i'm currently missing the PS3 but my Wii will have to do for now). Here in the UK wooden flooring, double/king sized beds, gas/electric cookers, fridge/freezers (with water &/or ice dispensers) are all basic elements that need not mentioning - so i guess this now leaves room to the decor and gadgets in the pad, which then can comprise of lazee boys, computer with LCD screens, Ipod/Mp3 player/mobile/PDA, sound system, Sky (Plus - HD), DVD recorder, lighting, heated floor, power shower/hot-tub, music, movie and book collections, artefacts and paintings etc. Those are the elements that define n differentiates a CLASSY Bachelor pad in my books according to where i live.

I agree with most of the stuff the first poster put out. An LCD TV's ok, but if you don't need it to play HD games (ps3, xbox 360) or you don't have an upscaling DVD player then an LCD tv's a waste of hard earned cash, since we don't have HD broadcast in Nigeria.
i'm a gadget freak, so my place will prolly be dolled up with gadgets everywhere, with an AppleTV, Ps3, Xbox360 and Wii hooked up to the TV, a nice home theatre sound system, split unit A/Cs in every room, a well stocked fridge (except for booze. . i never touch da devil's brew. . .)

Naturally, i'd hack my AppleTv to run Mac OSX on my 32 inch LCD. Also, i've installed Linux on my PS3, so i'll also be able to run linux on the TV. .
this is beginning to sound more geeky than classy. i'll stop now!

everything depends on the individual and his taste. i dont have some of the things on the list and vice versa yet my place is okay for me at present. every individual should go for what he needs and can afford and not to meet another person`s sense of class.you can have all on that list yet your place may not be classy if you dont know how to design the place.

I once saw an advert: "The difference between men and boys, is in the price of their toys". All the stuff mentioned are necessitites, but when it comes to classy, you are looking for individual products, whose designs will last the test of time and of course cause a big dent in your pockets! Flat screens for instance, if you havent shelled out for a bang and olufsen, or maybe the more affordable pioneer plasmas and Samsung LCD (top of the range), a universial LCD touch screen remote control, a toaster by dualit or siemens etc. One should consider anything less a necessity. what do y'all think?
