Something must make a politician popular especially when he or she is vying for a position. For Gbenga Daniel, it was a radio jingle of a remixed Christian hymn that went viral to herald his entry into the Ogun State Government House. It became a household song that some Christians almost forgot the original lyrics to sing; that Gbenga Daniel is coming.

Eyi o wu awi, toluwalase is a cliché often found on the posters of the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun and many will agree with me that this phrase is nothing less than the real truth because, irrespective of man’s toils in life, only God’s will shall stand. And, this Yoruba aphorism has again proved its efficacy. Sometimes, I choose to believe that proverbial words from the Yoruba clan were carefully collected from God’s artifact because they always stand the test of time, with due respect to other tongues in my great country.

Careful study of the political kingdom of this country have revealed to me, over time, that he who gets to the top may necessarily not be qualified enough to mount the ladder but have fulfilled the requirement of honour to the important fathers and mothers of the said terrain.
We have witnessed the rising of the sun of a man who claimed to have once been in the shoes of those who have no shoe while going to school yet, made no plan to heal the hurting heels of those he had cajoled to win their votes, maybe out of pity or seeming ‘sense of belonging’.

Examining the twist of fate in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the Gateway State, it further revealed deeply; the mere talks of politicians who just tend to craft words like Advertising practitioners and/ or Marketers just to appeal to the senses of their target markets without actually being true to the facts mentioned in their message. They just want to sing sweet songs to your ears; cajole you like they fear God and will deliver on their promises. This, my uncle; Ibikunle Amosun did without actually knowing the weight those words carry!

The man whom I described in my last article as one who “hates Ogun State with exclusion” forgot that irrespective of what his physical power, wealth, intelligence, experience and affluence can do, the actual final result lies on the Almighty God who has predestined everything in this world, whose decision is also final!
I’m sure he totally forgot that there is only one man who has the capacity to make or remove kings at will. It slipped his mind that “eyan bi olorun osi” (No man like God) and that “kosi bi omode se maa tete ji de oko, iwaju loti maa ba kukute” (Irrespective of how early a child goes to the farm, he will always meet someone ahead of him).
The MAPOLY graduate who refused to show respect to the Institution that made him forgot the word of the Holy Book which says; it’s not by power, neither is it by might but by the spirit of God.

If Amosun had been conscious of his political cliché, he would have treaded softly and not try to impose any candidate on the people. His show of being wise as a one-man mopol, despising the party that made him and throwing all the state machinery behind his political son; Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade just to stall APC’s plan of bringing another person into the Government House is really worthy of praise for his bravery.

Some said it was in a bid to cover his shadowy works while the outside toga that brightens to others is that he wants to bring the Yewa people to bear rule but a critical, analytical look at the tactics he deployed at the beginning of this journey only opens to us his plans of becoming the Ogun State version of Jagaban but with the attributes of force, stinginess and lack of adhering to those around him – Tinumi ni mase.

His game would have yielded massive victory had he considered the God factor first and anoint Gboyega Nasir Isiaka as the man for the Job instead of trying to lord Triple A on the people from just nowhere. I stand to affirm that had he presented GNI, sweetness would have been the fruit of his orange tree.

But then, my two namesakes; Senator Ibikunle and Abdulkabir Adekunle did their bit as there is no sin in trying but when a clear-cut strategy is being despised, one cannot but expect this eventual outcome.
Despite the fact that Dapo Abiodun didn’t spend much and had a campaign below the extent of Amosun’s political son, the poll showed that the people’s eyes are now enlightened and as for me; an indigene of Ogun State, my belief is His Excellency trying to rule us indirectly for another four years, haven done nothing to my pleasure or that of my people in Yewa. But for God and rising intelligence of electorates, Mr. Governor would have succeeded in fooling the Yewas whom he forgot for a whole 8 years by bringing out a son from their hamlet to become the Governor.

As I congratulate Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR for his victory in the midst of powerful fellow contestants, I wish to let him know that man didn’t take him to that governorship throne other than the fact that it’s been pre-arranged by God. And here is a food of thought; for every opportunity God gives you to explore, taking another route other than the right and narrow way will make Him take the grace from you to be enjoyed by another. Senator Ibikunle Amosun lost the opportunity of making someone in the right way but chose to play the match in a stadium full of thorns and refusing to honour the platform where he was made.

Well, I hope he has learned his lessons. In the name of being loyal to someone who threw away his own cap of loyalty, several politicians who shouldn’t have defected are now wailing for their defeat while the wise ones stood and soared to victory. We can count the number of those that won on the APM platform!

All said and done, I hope that in future, we all would always remember that no matter who we think we are or have become, the one who has the final say will forever remain God. Like Broda Shaggi, let me say thank you!

Frankly, AMOSUN did perfectly well in the area of state capital development in terms of outstanding infrastructure

But, the dude forked up big time in the aspect of Employees welfare, he forgot dat without perfect packages for workers, market/business people would be directly affected because the state is civil Servant state, no plenty private companies

To make it worse, HE turned MAPOLY to Yeye Poly

You must be fucking kidding me. Amosun did well in terms of outstanding infrastructure for the state. You definitely don't know what you're saying. Or you think Abeokuta is Ogun State?

He definitely would have failed. Lol. The man is cunningly wise. A man called Arugbo who was supposed to vie for House of Representatives in Ado-Odo/Ota reportedly collapsed after the result was pronounced. He defected to APM while he would have won on APC platform

Not at all. If you read my last write-up, I called him Abeokuta governor. He only modernised his father's town. Even at that, there are still some places that he didn't touch because many people can't see it. And, OGTV keeps broadcasting few he did.
