May all of nigeria including each region suffer the same amount of loss according to its land and tribal size if that is the case.

Nigga, shut up! Why should everyone suffer if your tribe is the only one always fuming for war?! I say they (your tribe) suffer all the deaths, loss, and disaster (alone) that u wish for all the other innocent/non-violent tribes! cool

May all suffer the same fate. Theres no such thing as "my people" wanting war. If you are talking about succession, it does not mean war. But if war is taken on us may me all suffer the same amount of loss according to population and region.

Dude, ure moronic to say the least! Your people always scream war, if they want it so bad then may they suffer the consequences of war! Why would u wish ill on a people that seek good health? Is this just that Ibo way of thinking?

Igbos never wanted or is calling for war so if it is brought to that may God let all of nigeria suffer the same amount in every region.

Going by the comments of the tribal iredentists here, Ndigbo should in my mind view Ihejirika's elevation with trepidation.  The last time an Igbo held this position in '66, it was calamitous for ndigbo. It appears now that the fate of 30 million Igbo now is in the hands of another Igbo army general.

Gen Ihejirika, any wrong move, could be misconstrued as Nigerians are wont to do when it comes to Nd'igbo and thus it could spell another doom for ndigbo.  So beware!  We must be vigilant lest another pogrom be visited on us again.  "Ihejirika biko kwa etufu kwa ihe Ndigbo ji ka ndi Nigeria ozo." Translation: There is something that makes Igbo great in Nigeria (please don't ask me what "it" is 'cos you won't understand if I tell you but every Igbo knows what "it" is).  Ihejirika is now the de facto custodian of that which makes Nd'igbo great and thus should not loose "it." Because if he loses "it,"  "it" would leave us vulnerable again.

Igbo history is not kind to your Igbo precedessor Aguiyi Ironsi because it is presumed that he lost "it" for Nd'igbo. Ndigbo cannot afford the events that precipitated the civil war again as we are yet to recover from the losses of the past incidents.

Well, me thinks yall cool if you guys dont:

1. Kill The Sardauna

2. Kill a Top Northern Politician

3. Kill a Top Mid-Western Politician

4. Kill the top Western Politician

5. Hint the top Ibo Politician to flee the country under the guise of a holiday even though an important meeting of World Heads of States is being held in his country

If u guys decide to go on ur usual blood letting, this time try to kill everyone equally, ok?

Bk.babe97, I won't dignify your ignorant rabble rousing.  If you think that what happened in 1966 was a conspiracy among the general Igbo population to kill those you mentioned, there is nothing I can say to you to change your mind.  I can tell from your posting that you hate Igbo and that's your prerogative.  Nothing justifies the ethnic cleansing of the Igbo period.

In 1966, Ndigbo had more to lose than any other tribe in Nigeria. Nigeria had 4 regions, Igbo controlled two. Ndigbo controlled the economy of Nigeria, the civil service and the top echelon of the military.  The idealist military hawks that struck in 1966 were purely misguided and if they had consulted the Igbo at large, they would have been dissuaded from their misadventure.

The Igbos had it made in Nigeria and would have preferred the sustenance of the status quo if they were consulted. You think we are doing well now? In 1966 we were on top of the world with fastest growing economy in the east and we controlled every good thing in Nigeria.

Try as you and your ilk may, you can't kill the indomitable Igbo spirit! Be aware that what transpired in the pogrom of Ndigbo can never happen again. Forget my professed trepidation, Ndigbo will resist any attempt to exterminate us again. We are not going to rumble like it is 1966 again believe me. This is the twenty first century! Igbo are not known to be cowards.

Nnanne biko ignore that herb chewing goat!

You have a point about your concerns. On another thread about Ojukwu visiting Jonathan and was snubbed, I strongly suspected (if that story is true) that he went to persuade him not to run because if something starts in Nigeria today, it must involve Ndigbo because of this new chief of army staff. I particularly raised this fear on that thread.

In this election, Ndigbo should be very careful and watch our leaders for guidance. Something is brewing in Nigeria and I don't like it. But if Ihejirika is smart, he will sit it out and stand out of the way of any trouble.

I hate Ibos? Well, If thats how u see it why should I change your mind? However, if ure not a bigot, a tribalist, or a rabble-rousing Biafran then, u, my dear friend, have nothing to fear.

Sure, in 1966 yall were on top of the world. I like how u forgot to include that cus yall thought youd  lose power Your Zik and co attempted to hand over power to the military, when the Military refused to accept the "handover", Ifeajuna (Zik's cuz) planned a coup and killed everyone else that didnt refer to themselves as "Nna or Nnwane". . . . . . . U know the rest.

All Im saying is; if this time yall decide to go ape-shiyt, remember to add a few Ibos to the death toll; we both know them Northern boys aint playing when it comes to sword-swinging!
